Going back to school in the MMP

Termites. Lots and lots of termites. And you better have a concrete enclosure, because they can tunnel through anything else, but to and including armor plate.

Petite sirloins with baked N.O.T. on the side tonight.

Wifey and I went and had our Covids tested today. :astonished:
It was uncomfortable but not painful. We drove to a clinic a few miles away where they were set up to do the tests in their parking lot. It was under a tent (it’s rainning). The nurses were very efficient and cheerful. We had to show our drivers licenses and give them our names and birthdays. It took about 5 minutes and we were on our way back home.

We’ve arraigned for the daughter unit to make a run to the store and come by and fling a sack of groceries onto our porch. (Just in case.)

I was going to mow the lawn today, maybe, but it’s raining, so indoor chillage is the order of the day.

Enjoy you evenings!

I took a shower because I didn’t yesterday and felt grody. I wimped out and used warm water, so now I’m really itching again. Between FCM and boofae, surely someone could wave a magic wand and cure me. Puh-leaze?

I can’t remember if I said this yesterday or not, but I couldn’t find the Cetaphil oatmeal lotion, so I got Aveeno oatmeal balm. It’s very sticky and goopy. Not sure if it’s helping. Day-um, I wish the placebo effect would kick in.

flyboy, thanks for the recipes. You haven’t steared me wrong yet, so I’ll definitely try this one soon.

I seldom divulge what I’m having for dinner because I usually don’t know in advance, but tonight I’m making tuna noodle casserole because I’m in need of comfort. No peas, though. Those are an obstacle, not a comfort. My brother hates mushrooms, so when we were kids, he’d pick out every mushroom molecule before he’d eat tuna noodle.

Hey! You’ve given me a business idea. I could get me some aardvarks–I’d have to call them emotional support aardvarks so I could keep 'em here–and take 'em to houses with termite issues. Nellie and Her All-Aardvark Exterminators,The Natural Termite Solution! It’d probably go over big. Plus it would feed 'em. Win-win! Of course, they’d probably chew through the drywall, but heck, termites would chew through stuff anyway.

And if I haven’t told you, I looked up the Proverbs verses and liked them so much, I wrote them down and stuck 'em where I can see them often.

I iiiiiitch! Is it too early for alcohol? Any port in a storm, except I don’t have any port.

In my last job, we’d have kinda sorta quarterly team meetings (we had them when the boss felt like it.) At one of them, he finished up with slides about emu farming. Really. He was a great boss!

The ribs were yum! And there are 3 half racks in the freezer for future meals. I actually cleaned the smoker this time (it was pretty gross since I didn’t clean it last time) and I think I’m going to look for a small enough turkey to smoke. Lurves me some smoked turkey!! I also froze 2 quart bags of chicken stock.

Dishes are done. I need to get the last basket of clothes put away. Then I intend to crash. I’s tahred!!

I haven’t read the recipe in years. In case it doesn’t say it, slice the rolls into pieces as you would a sushi roll after you cook it. Ten little rolls made a nice arrangement on the plate. And I mould the rice with a glass ramekin/custard cup/whatever they’re called.

Deheathenation went well, aside from one minor technical issue when a speaker coming in on Zoom had no sound, but that got sorted out. Remarkably, I hadn’t worn earrings since the before-lockdown times, and they went right in. Apparently, the holes in my lobes just do not close.

Could wish Xfinity had better documentation for blocking channels (we do NOT want the X-rated stuff in our home, and I’m annoyed that that just came with my channel lineup instead of being opt-in so I could have declined it).

It’s been another drizzly day. I heathenized (virtually), finished up a couple of small projects in the studio, walked Nelson, fixed and et supper and now, all that’s left is KP and more chillage.

Whilst I was playing in the studio today, I watched a short documentary on Tiny Tim. He was a strange man, but it gave me more background than what I remember from childhood.

It continues to rain. I’m watching the Dallas/NY Football Giants game. For 2 teams with 1 combined win through 4 weeks, it is entertaining.

Rain has picked up in intensity here. The local weather guesser said Leonardtown, which is 6 miles from here, could get 2 anna half inches of rain. So soggies ahead.

I don’t want to go to bed too early because I don’t want to wake at 4 again. Wonder if I can make it to 10…

Howdy Y’all! We deheathenated, had N.O.L., achieved nappage, made and et sup, cleanded up the kitchen, and I hauled the biiiiiiiiiiiig trash can all the way down to the road for pickup tomorrow. After haulin’ the biiiiiiiiiiig trash can, I remembered tomorrow is a federal holiday. I looked it up and it is not one the trash collectors take, so it’s all good. Also, I has a sad. A very dear, sweet friend and a member of my church passed away early this mornin’. I knew it was comin’, if fact, have known it for a while, but still sad. R.I.P. Carole.

Sorry about your friend, Swampy. Expected or not, it always hurts.

Dinner tonight is … well, not even hot Boston Market to-go, it’s Boston Market out of a frozen box, heated in the oven.
(Hey, at least I didn’t microwave it.)

Envy my culinary prowess and bottomless energy!
And my sarcasm!

At least I was productive while waiting the hour-plus for my incredibly labor-intensive meal to be ready.
I had a rat buyer coming, so in preparation for THAT, I finally moved that damn colony I’ve been yammering about for days now. Head count 37 total, plus the one that went home with Mr. Customer.

Bah, I’m being hard on myself again. It is good that I am eating (a semi-balanced hot meal, at that!) and that I’m attending to my ratties. Both of those slide when my mental health does.

Positivity, dammit. I’m trying to learn it.

You’re doing damn good at it. I’m admiring it.

Boo

Wow! Thanks.

(God, do I have trust issues. My instinctive reaction was that you were being sarcastic, and I had to consciously remind myself that Mumpers don’t play like that.)

Make poke chops with Pig Salt, baked N.O.T.s with bacon bits, and rosemary pepper cauliflower.

You got this!

We’ll try not to let you down.(just don’t let Flytrap near your CDs. )

Well, damn. Accidentally deleted the post. Anyway…

My pumpkin, on the left, didn’t turn out as well as previous years. Mrs. L.A.'s pumpkin is on the right. She’d never carved a pumpkin before. I like the classic design. (In fact, I was going to do a ‘classic jack-o’lantern’ if she hadn’t carved it.)

I’m sorry about your friend swampy. Hugs.

Nice jack-o-lanterns Johnny! You both did a nice job.

I got pictures printed and the next layout set up in the studio. I’m beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel with this project, although I’ve enjoyed it all. There are a couple of pages I’m going back to tweak, but it’s looking good.

See y’all tomorrow.

Nope, they don’t. That’s why I’m here (I have an advanced degree in Trust Issues, hard earned).

Kudos on your pumpkin art. Mrs. LA’s is great for a first one! It has sass-I’m guessing she does too.

Boo

I like them both!
Mrs. Wheelz and I didn’t carve this year, but we do enjoy it most years. I usually try for something other than a face. Sometimes it turns out great, sometimes not so much. But creative endeavors are always fun. Maybe I’ll try to dig up some old pictures.
