I think I slept ok but I woke at 4 again. And as might be expected, I am achy. Acetaminophen for breakfast…
We’re going to hang some pictures in rooms that are mostly finished, so everywhere but the living room. No other plans yet. And rain is coming so mostly inside today.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 73 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 83 and maybe mostly N.O.S. for the day. The big plan of the day is deheathenization (I have ush duty) and grabbin’ a burger on the way back to da cave. That will tide us over until sup time which shall be grilled poke chops, baked sweet N.O.T., succotash (shut up flytrap we like the stuff!) and rolls. Nappage shall also occur at some point.
MOOOOOOM hope the day gets less achy for ya.
dots that sounds like a good plan for the foot rests. Hope that works.
Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, purtification for deheathenization must commence.
Here again. I was rudely awakened by hubs slamming a cabinet door. He is an early riser and can’t seem to allow me to sleep. I was up at 4 am with him yesterday and got all the way until 7 this morning before he made that noise which of course I had to investigate.
I have pretty much resigned myself that he is not getting any better, ever. He refuses most food and lost a ton of weight. He has no fighting reserves. That’s why I try to keep some extra meat on my bones. OK more than a little extra but extra.
I am supposed to return to irk on Wednesday when my 14 day period of isolation is over. I don’t wanna go back at all but I must. The visiting nurse said she can add an extension so he can do his own infusions. I don’t see that going well at all. What to do? what to do?
Morning all. Up about 7am and went over to the Krispy Kreme for donuts and chocolate milk, which I am currently consuming. Also filled the gas tank so the major jobs for the day are completed. The rain appears to be leaving the area, heading up to visit FCM, doggio, Sari and our other friends in the Mid-Atlantic.
OW, glad you could have fun with friends and remember ruble fondly.
Butters, he ain’t going to change much, and I think you realize that, just do the best you can for him (and especially yourself) and see how things work out. And maybe he can do those infusions…you had substantial doubts about you doing it, IIRC.
FCM, may the aches go away soon.
Dot, hope the paracord works out for you.
flytrap, can you move the rock (w/crab) to the other tank, or is it too large?
Nettie, ‘freezer tetris’ should be in the Urban Dictionary (and surprise! It is). I don’t recall ever hearing it before, but it’s a perfect term. Thank you.
OK, 2/3 of the donuts and milk have been assimilated since I started this missive. Now need to complete the task. All y’all have a good Sunday.
dot, have fun macrameing (is too a word) some paracord for your slings.
Hope your aches go away with some pain reliever and icy hot Moooooom.
butters, some years ago, when I had MRSA, I had a pic line with what my great nephew termed as space balls (because, as I explained to his 7 year old self, they were pioneered for use in space) that I administered myself with the help of an extension and a sling. I even did it at work. He should do fine with it and it may give him more of a sense of control.
Thanks for reminding me to go gas up the car metal mouse!
I’m glad that you had a good time at the park and were with friends who remembered ruble fondly OW.
Up, caffeinating, breakfasted and fixing to heathenate (virtually) at 10:30. It’s still raining Delta, so another day of indoor plans. I’ll use up some scraps in the studio to make a couple of cards and sketch out the next layout. Puerto Rican chicken and rice with cilantro lime slaw as a side for supper. Otherwise, sloth is the plan of the day.
It’s a cloudy 63 degrees outside, supposed to get up to 66 and rain all day.
I was at the park for 3 and a half hours this morning.
Echo still didn’t want to leave.
I swear I could drop her off each morning and come get her each evening and she’d be fine with it.
She’s on the list though. It took me 15 minutes to get her out of the park yesterday. Today she darn near pulled me down wanting to chase a rabbit by the truck. Then she saw a rabbit at the park and wanted to take off after it. I was ready for her that time.
I used to like rabbits, they are on my list now too.
Today I have to finish up the laundry. Probably take a nap sometime since I woke at 4:12 and stayed up.
Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Out of sorts today. It’s raining, but I dragged "Princess Pretty Paws out to pee at 0900. He should be good till dinner time.
neither Maggie Wonderbeagle nor Nelly K Beagle should the slightest aptitude in rabbit chasing. Gordie just likes to pee on baby bunnies.(only a monster pees on baby bunnies)
Hope the Acetaminophen kicks in, Moooooooommmmm!!!!
Just loaded the ribs into the smoker, then rushed out to add the wood chips. OOOOPS!! I’m using apple wood this time - should be yummy. I’ve also got a load of sheets in the washer, and I may do some jeans next. I also printed out our mail-in ballots, tho we’re going to drop them off at the board of elections. I need to see when we’re allowed to do that.
We took trash and recycling this morning, and I was talking to FCD about his parents. It’s his mother who’s insisting that they can’t possibly move, that no one can do what she does, and that’s that. Also, she claims Biden is a communist and Rachel Maddow is a leader of the radical left wing… yeah. Anyway, we’re not saying anything else to them about moving. It’s up to them. I just hope and pray they don’t kill someone when driving. That’s all we can do.
It’s overcast, but no rain yet. It’ll be here soon, tho. You can feel it. We shall definitely chill indoors today.
Good morning all. {{{FCMoooomnether regions}}} butterssleep and return to work and {{{}}} extras for any what would like some. Come on by. Plenty more where those came from.
Waiting a text from SIL, who actually is dear, telling me it’s ok to head on over for grandma day with grandgirl and hopefully watching a Chiefs game en famille.
For not doing anything today, I’ve done a lot. Three loads of laundry are folded and ready to be put away (when someone gets up from his nap.) I chopped up the leftover rotissed chickie and made a chickie salad, then boiled the carcass for stock - as soon as it cools a bit, I’ll pick it and pack it. I’ve got 2 racks of ribs in the smoker - they should be done in an hour anna half. And I cleaned toddler fingerprints off the TV screen.
Supper will be ribs, crinkle fries in the air fryer, and steamed broccoli. It’s been raining gently for several hours and my car has been out in it because I had to move it to get the smoker out. It needed to be rinsed… We were going to hang pictures, but maybe that will happen tomorrow. All in all, a nice, chill day.
Well, I made breakfast. I’ve got the dishwasher running. I need to carve a jack-o’lantern. I’ll do the same ‘Jack Skellington’ one I do every year, because I like it. Tomorrow is out bi-weekly trash and recycling pickup, so I’ll have to get that out today – in the rain.
I don’t know what I’ll make for dinner. We have leftover pulled pork (which we had last night). I might make aspara nikumaki. Or maybe I’ll just order a pizza.
Happy Sunday, everyone! I got a whole 4 hours of sleep last night, though not all in one stretch. I mostly lay there listening to my heart race. The itching is slightly better today, but the cure is rough. My hands are shaking, and I’m cold but can’t wear long sleeves due to itching. This, too, shall pass, right? I mean, right?
The knowledge bank here on the MPSIMS amazes me. Para cord! Space balls! I’m sure if I needed information on the care and feeding of pet aardvarks, you folks would have it.
Dot, good luck on the foot rest thing. There must be designs out there, right? I mean, you can’t be the only person with this issue.
Ms. Owl, glad you had fun among understanding friends.
flyboy, hope you post a photo of Jack when you get him done. I’d love to see him. I have to look up aspara nikumaki.
Mooooom, if that’s a chill day, we’re all in trouble. Where do you get the energy? And how did you get so efficient?
doggio, I feel emaciated looking at 1,400-pound 747. The big question is, who won Ms. Congeniality?
{{{{Butters}}}} which I could offer more than hugs, like some good advice.
It didn’t turn out as well as previous years. I felt I was in a rush, and the pumpkin was very stringy. I’ll post a pic eventually…
As for the nikumaki:
I cheat and don’t make the sauce anymore. I just use teriyaki. These are great when cooked over a flame. Side dishes are a mound of sticky rice, Spring mix salad, and Japanese sesame dressing for the salad and for dipping the nikumaki.
I don’t use the recipe. I just mix Best Foods mayonnaise, soy sauce, mirin, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and sesame seeds until it tastes right.
