going through life with the nickname,"stink."

recently a guy in his sixties died in my small ohio hometown, which i left, because of to much small town thinking. his lifelong nickname was “stink.”

have any of you ever had a person named “stink” in your town? if so where are you from? is this a midwest thing or a redneck thing or what? your thoughts.

no stinks, but I did go to highschool with a guy whose real name was Stanko. People he met would assume it was some kind of nick name. His parents were of eastern European origin.

Also no stinks, but a related word. For years, the sheriff of Guilford County, N.C., was Walter “Sticky” Burch. I remember seeing yard signs reading “Vote Sticky!” all over town.

You sure it wasn’t Wanker county?

If he was smart, he would have tried to get this watered down to Stingo. Then he could have slept with Meryl Streep.

“We had a Red in our town.”

“We had a guy named Red in our town.”

 "Really? Irish, huh?"

“Nope, he’d once red a book.”
