Street name?

I was doing some routine bureaucratic stuff the other day, and someone wanted to know my “street name”. Although they just wanted to know my address was still the same, it was hard to fight the temptation to say “They call me…Tater Salad”.

  1. So if you had a street name, what would it be?
  2. Are these still a thing, or did they fade away with the Wu-Tang Clan?

Nobody is here Street

They call me … Della.

My coworker once saw the sandwich I was eating for lunch and asked, “Spicy turkey?” And I replied, “How did you know my kung-Fu name?” I followed up with, “Hey go ahead and laugh, but you don’t know how close that movie came to being called ‘Crouching Tiger, Spicy Turkey.’”

There are some who call me… Tim.

Well, my name’s Jim. But most people call me…Jim. I used to be known as the Waco Kid.

Well, what they don’t call me is Latefa Dinnah.

Aren’t they basically nicknames, or stage names, if you happen to be famous? Which are still common. I don’t keep up with modern music, but I’m always seeing headlines about how eXtraH is dating Mackx Zepad, or M0munny is feuding with L’ilbig, or MelissaThaatHorse just got a $100 million record deal, and I just nod uncomprehendingly. I’m thinking that none of those people are using the names printed on their birth certificates.

Treif.

We have an Either Way locally, and I remember Easy St. in Simi Valley, CA.

Sonic.

A stoner friend of mine in college once moved to an apartment on High Street. He thought that was hilariously appropriate, and we sometimes called him High Street. So his street name was the name of a street.

Highway To Hell.

I was out just the other guy and someone called out to me to compliment me on my hoodie: “Hey, Cool Old Dude!” I’ll go with that.

Her name was Magill, and she called herself Lill, :musical_note: but everyone knew her as Nancy :musical_note:
Now she and the man :musical_note: who called himself Dan…

I’m reminded of this text conversation I saw on Twitter a while back. No idea if it really happened:

Jim: “What’s your street name?”
Mark: “Little Marco”.
Jim: “You live on a street named ‘Little Marco’?”
Mark: “Oh, you mean my address!”

Walter Tranmere Felsper – but that is too lengthy and elaborate, so

Dang, I just noticed that I totally misunderstood the thread, I thought it was about what your name would be if it was a name of a street. So never mind, carry on. I think I don’t have a street name, I’m always at home sitting on my sofa and rarely in the streets anyway.

From Buster Keaton: “Flushing Place”.

I was wondering
