Goldman family buys O.J. book rights. I like these parts:
"The Goldmans own the copyright, media rights and movie rights. They also acquired Simpson’s name, likeness, life story and right of publicity in connection with the book, according to court documents."
"The Goldmans want to rename the book “Confessions of a Double Murderer” and plan to shop it around, Cook said."
She ran into the knife. Oh, you don’t almost run into knives? I bet you’re just perfect!
Listen, I don’t agree with the verdict, but he was found innocent.
(Speaking of which, I wonder what the Brown family is doing, in terms of actions like this? You mostly seem to hear from the Goldmans, which is understandable, considering their ahem SON was basically an innocent bystander at the wrong place at the wrong time…)
No he wasn’t. That isn’t the way the justice system works. He was found Not Guilty which means the prosection didn’t prove its case well enough. Different things. Different ideas. He was found responsible in a later Civil trial so you have to be careful with your terms. Careless terms can end up with a person being both innocent and guilty based on the trials and that is a mind-screw.
As much as I feel for the Goldman family, it can’t be healthy to harbor such animosity all the time. Publishing the book will do nothing to punish OJ, nor will it bring back their son.
The lying scumbag O.J. was trying to flaunt what he did and enrich himself at the same time. I think it’s poetic justice that his own words will not only help to villify him, but enrich the family of one of his victims. Kharma at work.
He was also found legally responsible for the deaths. That pretty much means that the courts have ruled that he’s a killer. I imagine that calling him a “murderer” is okay especially if connected to his own words.
If they own it, and change the names to protect the Not Guilty, it’ll fly (I’m guessing). The title change changes the whole context. I think it’s a clever idea. It’s kind of like that optical illusion picture; do you see a beautiful young woman or an old hag? Will they actually do it? Who knows…but to turn the tables on him at his own game…I kinda like it.
The thing that blows my mind is that he has so many friends! I mean, I had no idea that that many people could believe he didn’t do it. Lame prosecution issues aside, I am convinced he did it. How can so many people NOT see it that way?
