Just for fun I showed the pictures of the dogs to one of my most non-PC redneck friends and asked him what he thought (he’s in his 30’s…not exactly young but figured I’d get the most open response from him). long pause head shake ‘That dog just won’t hunt’. (all this with a totally straight face) When asked if the dogs looked ‘gay’ or ‘faggy’ he simply shook his head and said something like ‘Naw. It takes a straight person to fuck up a dawg that badly.’…another long pause…‘Probably a libural though…’.

- See! See! People are describing something as “manly”, manly is obviously the opposite of “faggoty” like, ya know, all those faggots who prance about doing faggot type stuff like grooming dogs, as opposed to real men who are busy using their cocks to drive rivets into solid marble blocks.
- People were offended that I associate all that prancing, mincing, limp wristed lisping flamboyance with those faggots. So, I figure, they should totally be offended that a company has classified cities based on their manliness quotient.
- So, people should realize that my act of equating all that mincing with them faggots is no different from equating hunting and fishing with manliness. Because, ya know, manliness is absolutely as offense a concept as faggyness.

Fair enough. I can see how the OP will find that usage offensive. However, what about the phrase “You suck!” (It sucks, he sucks, etc) that is in common usage everywhere? Should it be banned from the language?
I’m not seeing your point on a couple of levels. First off, no one is talking about banning the use of the word ‘fag’ or ‘faggot’…they are merely pointing out that USING such a term is offensive. Sort of like using the terms ‘nigger’, ‘spic’ or ‘kike’, said terms being pejorative by their very nature.
Secondly, how does ‘you suck’ equate exactly to ‘faggoty’ exactly? I’m not seeing the parallel to be honest.

By saying that something sucks you are imparting a negative connotation to it, and implying that homosexuality is negative.
Even assuming that the term ‘you suck’ means ‘you suck dick’ (which I concede it probably does…see below), since it’s used fairly indiscriminately between males AND females it doesn’t exactly have the same connotations. It’s NOT a pejorative or bigoted term, it’s an insult. Sort of like ‘fuck you’ (even though we aren’t supposed to use that anymore around here).
