At least it’s still Moanday - at least at my house.
Happy Moanday!
At least it’s still Moanday - at least at my house.
Happy Moanday!
Whew! I held my breath a long time!
Welcome back, SDMB. Jeez, man, let’s get it together, OK?
Happy Moonday!
It’s cool out this evening, looks like it’s gonna rain soon.
Been a bit frustrating of a day.
I had to call Home Depot, and we all know how much I love phone calls. They were quite co-operative and took $100 off my bill and adjusted the amounts that were supposed to be 6 months interest free. Only the first item was interest free because instead of using the day I ordered them, they used the date they shipped them.
Then I had to call the dreaded Maryland Exchange because my income has gone up and I have already made my estimated annual income. I have to update my income, which I was told I can do on the website. Yes I can, but you can’t just update your income, you have to go through the whole process and I hit a snag, have no idea how to answer the question, so I will be calling them back tomorrow to have somebody walk through the process with me.
I have to call the college, I got a bill from them for $x, but the website says they owe me $y. Also, we have to figure out if my son needs ID and how to get it.
He has an assignment this week and we have no idea how he is going to do it. He needs to find somebody from a Latin American country who has worked in both a Latin American country and in the US to compare and contrast the work environments. I don’t even know anybody from Latin America. I think of all the times I was at the dog park and I was the only person not speaking Spanish, but I haven’t seen any of them for quite a while. I wouldn’t know how to find any of them, I know their dogs’ names, but not their names.
I told my son I’ll take Ripple to day care tomorrow and we can eat lunch at the Mexican restaurant, see if somebody there will talk to him, and we’ll leave a BIG tip.
I have too much to do coming up, I forgot all about the family reunion. I don’t want to go but I should go. I know I’ll enjoy it once I get there, but it makes me stressed to think about it.
August is going to be a very busy month.
We got rain, way more than the 20% that was forecast. Tomorrow, someone is coming to patch the shop roof. Too bad they couldn’t come today before the sky opened. Oh well.
Finally. Wow. Sick. In bed. Made chicken soup. Dr. Tomorrow maybe. Over it. Blurf.
Really do not feel well.
So sorry, Butters!! Hope it’s not too serious and you feel better soon!
As for me, I am tahred!! Laterzzzzzzzzzz…
{{{butters}}}
Tis Monday and such a Monday.
I got a lot of stuff done, both at irk and home. I’s tahred and looking forward to the Jawja weather report tomorrow.
Evening all. Was suffering from MMP withdrawal, nice to get my fix.
Went back to my old home town for a quick visit (flew in Saturday morning, flew home Sunday morning). It was H.S. Soccer Alumni weekend, got to watch about 40 other alumni play (I went out there for 4 minutes, that was enough). Hardly recognize the houses I lived it, my elementary schools are now administrative buildings, and except for visiting Mom and Dad at the Cemetery, there wasn’t much to go back for. And to compound that, found out an old friend had died recently. So I don’t think I’ll be going back too soon.
Today was paying a couple of bills, buying bread, looking for a copy of "The Mote in God’s Eye (great SF novel I have worn out). The used bookstore was closed on Moanday, so may need to resume the search tomorrow.
All y’all take care now.
The callers weren’t too heinous today, but the public transit division of TVCTPMO more than took up the slack. Got home so wrung out I feel a bit queasy. Discovering financial stuff that I needed to swap texts with DH about on my way home, while he’s all tired and grouchy, didn’t help. Gotta eat, but not sure what’s going to stay put very well.
Took second place at Seinfeld trivia night. Our team is The Moops. It was at a dive bar. The best thing I can say about the place is the floors weren’t sticky.
I started to feel bad late Sat or early Sunday. Could feel my chest getting tight and filled up. So it is bronchitis and sinus BS to go along with it. I did manage to irk 6 hours and drive two. I am sure I now have a fever. Dammit. I ain’t got time to be sick and I surely can’t get my staff sick. I think I will get the Doc to give me a note excusing me for a couple days at least.
Blurf. I sure missed the dope.
Dammit – someone call Da Bear and get him to post the weather. I need my fix dammit!
Other than that dropped off the loaner car, got ours back, and went to work.
Heading out Thursday I was short of 80 heading for Brookville and I tried to pass a truck on a hill. I stuck my foot in it ------- and nothing in terms of speed. Just engine RPMs and that smell I know for past experience. The clutch went south. I was able to get on 80, limp back home to the dealer via 79, called ahead so they were waiting but ----- not how I like to start a trip. This is by far the earliest I have lost a clutch (109k instead of my usual 150k) and the first one to lunch it without warning. I asked for and got my old plates and will be curious to see if I can spot a reason.
Worked, came home. Short day tomorrow. Then, vacation?
{{{{Butters}}}}
I had a good start to this week’s MMP but then the board Just. Wasn’t. There. Therefore I shall audibleize, “La vie”.
How ironic that dogbutler is having trouble finding a (temporary) butler for Gordie.
(((((Butters))))) - hope you feel better soon!
So we all survived without the Dope for a few hours? We’re stronger than we think! I went to a spin class last night at the gym and nearly melted because it was so hot in there. I think I was still recovering when I went to bed as I had the windows open and a fan running, and I was still too hot to sleep. Shouldn’t be happening, this is England, dammit! Looking forward to my holiday and a few nights in hotels with aircon, we don’t have much of that usually so it will be a little treat to have a properly cool room to sleep in.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 74 Amurrkin out and partly cloudy with a predicted high of 91 and partly cloudy (partly N.O.S.?) for the day. We had a good amount of rain yestiddy afternoon/evenin’. The temp dropped to 79 Amurrkin (BRRR!) so we hung out on the back porch for a while last night. ‘Twas nice. Today I get to do laundry. Woohoo! We had steak for sup last night. The steaks were huge so neither one of us et all our steak. Thus there is enough leftover for me to make my version of cheesesteaks for tonight’s sup along with oven fries. I do, however, need to betake myself to the sto’ for some hoagie buns. No worries cause I can just go up the road to the burly butcher sto’ and get those.
**{{{Butters}}} feel better soonest. Here’s Soft Kitty.
Ruble I posted the Jawja weather forecast on the SD page over on the Book of Faces yestiddy.
Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day! Rah.
Happy Tuesday Y’all!
Buncha crap on my desk this morning. I probably should have come in yesterday, but they didn’t call, so it’s their loss.
The Amish guy who built our shop is coming over today to patch the roof panel as a temp fix till a new panel comes in to replace it. I’m thinking we might want to have the offending tree removed, or at least cut back. Always something.
Happy Tuesday!
Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to work for a couple of hours.
If the floors weren’t sticky, it wasn’t a very good dive bar then. Probably didn’t even have Puppy Fight Club.
Morning all. Soccer went well, will now continue daily until the 17th (excepting Sunday), when teams will be formed and games will start, so I’ll try to attend as much as I can, if for no other reason than I get a (little) exercise and out of the house.
Up to 92F today. Not much else is planned.
All y’all have a good 2day. Butters, hope you get to feelin’ better (no hugs, you might be contagious…)
boofae, I often wonder how people survived down here in Ali-bama before Air Conditioning…
Nettie, TVCTPMO?? I googled it and your message was the first hit.
ruble, just be happy you have a garage that can do clutches; with most vehicles being automatics, it might be a rare skill. Enjoy your trip anyway.
