It’s Moanday, it’s dark, and 50 degrees(Fahrenheit). But it’s also my Firday, so there’s that. How’s everybody’s weather this A.M.?
An unexpected burst of sun and warmth here in Melbourne, which was delightful. Don’t usually get days like this so early in Spring.
On a more glum note, a job prospect I had great hopes for turning my life around fell through before it began. So that sucks, and sets my life back to square one.
The thermometer outside the back door of my garage read 53° when I let Higgs out this morning. Decidedly chilly. Also dark. Also Moanday. In fact, my last unemployed Moanday.
Big plans for the day include laundry. I’ll also water the 2 newest patched of seeded yard - the stuff that’s growing already will just have to survive with every other day watering. In the back of my mind, I’m thinking I have to do something else today, but for the life of me, I can’t recall what. I’m sure I’ll remember about bedtime.
Happy Moanday!
At noon the sun has finally come out - it was a cold, rainy morning. Apparently there is a reason for all those pointy roofs in northern France.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis 57 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 84 for the day and sunny. A late Summer/early Fall day here in south Jawja.
Plans for the day include irk. Actually paperirk. This week I get to do fun things like monitor casenotes to make sure they are up to date. I get to review employment plans as well. Joy.
OK that’s all I got. I need more caffiene and rumbly tummy is demandin’ sustenance. Then, alas and alack, irk purtification must commence.
Happy Moanday Y’all!
Happy Moanday, everyone! It’s grey and gloomy over here, temps are low (around 14 degrees) which is typical because the weekend was lovely! We are predicted wind and rain for today and tomorrow although looking out of my office window it actually looks a bit misty and murky.
Today is a very manic Moanday, it’s marks release day for the supplementary exams and they have to be done and finalised by midday. Mine are done but I expect a deluge of emails from the students who have failed becuase at least one of them has a big decision to make about their future.
I’m going to put my tin hat on…
My mom should be well on her way to Dulles airport this morning. She and her friend Anna will fly to Boston, then to Keflavik, then on to Copenhagen. From there, they’ll meet the bus that will take them to the ship where they’ll spend the next 5 weeks. I know this will be the worst part of the trip for my mom because she HATES flying. Three planes in a row will be a trifecta of suck for her.
Meanwhile, I’ve breakfasted and I’m still caffeinating. I should haul the dirty clothes downstairs and get the washer going. I should. I will. Eventually. Someone stole my motivator…
Accuweather claims 66 and cloudy, projected high 78 (we do have a fair amount of yuck in the air from wildfires). Day off from irk, no classes.
Some groceries will be needed, I’m otherwise in goof-off mode. Still getting over that bug.
It’s sorta chilly, but it should be a nice day, weather-wise.
The sprog has his orthodontist appointment this afternoon, so I get to leave work early today. I also will probably talk to my boss and start working out a date for my promotion to take effect and to figure out how my current position is going to play out.
I went back to Weight Watchers yesterday and I was in for a serious rude awakening. I gained back all of the weight I lost, but no more than that, which was a small victory. Lots of work ahead, but it’s nothing I haven’t done before.
Weather Unground says it is 49F right now, with an expected high of 80F. I can deal with that.
FCM, are the perfidious pesky wasps deceased, dead, gone to the great insect heaven?
Hope your mom enjoys her cruise, 5 weeks is a long time for a boat trip. Hopefully there will be many ports to visit.
Refereed three youth soccer games on Saturday and spent all day Sunday naked (I know, too much information) on the computer or watching football (one of the bonuses Direct TV gave me for signing up was NFL Sunday Ticket, so I could watch all the games).
Come to think of it, I did put on pants to go out and get the Sunday paper…
Otherwise, just another Moanday brick in the wall.
**MetalMouse **- by my count, she’ll stop at 17 ports, including 2 nights in St. Petersburg, Russia. There will be 2 at-sea stretches - from London to the Azores for 3 days, then Azores to Miami for 6 days. I hope the weather cooperates.
When she and I cruised last year, one night we were hit with the remnants of a hurricane or tropical storm. The rough seas led to a lot of creaking and shuddering overnight, which was exacerbated because we were on the 14th deck - waaaaaaay up above the center of buoyancy. Neither of us got sick, but at one point, I was almost flung from my bed. So fingers crossed for a smooth crossing.
Meanwhile, I’ve got a load in the washer, I’ve showered and dressed, and I’ve swept the stairs to the basement. I swear, those cats have a contest to see how far they can fling their litter. What a mess!!!
Up, caffienating, planning on a lot of typing today.
I was supposed to open at a different store today, but they gave me the wrong keys.:smack: I’ve spent the last hour chilling in the parking lot (rather literaly, in view of the temperature).
Happy Moonday!
It’s cold in here. It’s a sunny 57 outside. I didn’t want to get out of bed.
Nothing special today.
I need some breakfast and figure out the plans for today.
This is not a good week for people I used to know. One of my neighbors from the rinkydink apartments I lived in when I moved back to Pirateville twelve years ago died suddenly. Then I just heard on the radio that a guy I worked with a couple of years ago is in jail for assault with a deadly weapon. The first was surprising, the second, not so much.

It’s all Greek to me.
Actually cold - around 49 Amuriken <sic?> but at least dry for a change.
Those are nice but as I’ve posted here I think these are way better. With one of these two of us ripped someone out of a crashed car and once I adjusted a whole lot of attitude that got close to being fatal for the people out of adjustment. (There is something about splitting a stop sign down the center that just makes folks naturally listen to someone a little closer.)
Is that the same guy who did that routine back in the black and white television days? I remember it from Jack Parr of something like that.
Which then reminds me (in the convoluted manner my brain wanders) of John Twomey and wondering where he is these days.
I think instead that she meant that she was imbibing a male drink…you know, He-Brew?
I’ll get me hat…
