Good evening - a VERY late MMP

I think it is going to rain, got kind of dark outside.

Guess I should start making phone calls.
Oh joy and happiness there.

Butters feel better. That’s the problem with hospitals and such - they’re germ factories! I’ve picked up a few bugs there myself.

Sari - if you can’t get your son to see a counselor yet, maybe you could see one a few times to pick up tips on how to help him?

My haid continues to suck. I can’t tell you how often I wonder if something like trepanning would help. I’m pretty sure it won’t, but I have asked my doctor.

I’m supposed to go down to the Post Office and pick up our mail. Apparently we got too much for our little mail slot that they allot to us. Don twanna do that either.

I think we’re back up to frying pan temperatures again today. I am saying my daily remembrance in gratitude for the air conditioner.

I’ve basically been hiding all morning but its time to stick my head up and adult somewhat. About half of us at work are 5-shift so I expect some torches and pitchforks. And with the coming change in shift times ---------- it should be a little funny in a Keystone Cops sort of way. I may actually slightly be looking forward to it.

Home from lunch, the interview went well. We talked with a waitress who is also in school and knows all about this kind of assignment.
My neighbor suggested a different restaurant, and that is where we went. The food was good, we both ordered steak, and only after I had eaten a good bit of mine did I realize we had gotten each other’s meals. My son got fried cheese cake for dessert, he said it was really good. Cheesecake wrapped in a churro, and smothered in whipped cream and chocolate sauce. I shouldn’t have, but I got fried ice cream. I always wanted to try it but now my stomach is killing me.
The bill came to $40, an expensive lunch, and then I left her a $40 tip.
It was worth it though, to get the assignment done and to get my son out of the house.

And the good news, my son enjoyed it and agreed we should go back.
If for no other reason than to get the fried cheesecake. I thought he was going to pick up the plate and lick it clean.

I called the internet company, and not only am I getting faster internet, but it is going to be a little bit cheaper. The internet is more expensive, but with this package my phone is cheaper, so irks for me.
My ring doorbell is working a bit better, but my computer is still slow.
The guy at the store told me not to buy this one, but I did, and I should have listened to him.

I have to email a picture of my son to the college to get his ID. Then that can come off the list.
I called the city about the recycle cans. The woman needed the numbers off the cans. When I went out to do that, my neighbor asked what I was doing, I told him and he said just to put the can in his yard because he needs another one. I said fine by me, I just don’t want it in front of my house, it’s a warning the first time and a $200 fine the second time. So somebody lost a recycle bin, not my problem. There are three more out there looking for homes. There are times I could use another one, but most times we only put it out every 2nd or 3rd week, so one is good for us.

Now on to the Maryland Exchange.
If y’all hear a lot of cussing you know where it is coming from.

and nevermind, because the system is down… again

The sky opened but I was home, so yay! Now I need to decide what to do for supper.

We had a power burp and now the cable box isn’t working. Cable is fine - it works in the beddroom, but the box in the living room appears to have died. Always something…

I don’t think I can tolerate the Tamiflu. Main side effect is nausea and I just threw up in the bedside trashcan. I will take another before going to sleep but it only gets one more chance.

We had to put the maid off coming today because I just couldn’t deal but she seemed fine with it. Better that than getting sick. Not fair that she loses money either. Maybe hubby will make it up to her.

Sucks about the cable box mooommm. Always something indeed.

Maybe we could make the one we were thinking of starting for ruble a general Mumper bail fund. :stuck_out_tongue:

Love the tee doggio. Have a safe and fun trip!

{{{butters}}} I hope that the Tamiflu makes you better this time.

And she’s off! Tomorrow, I deliver a project to Nashville that will put $1K in the bank account and drop off the kid bag. I will stop at the farmer’s market for some snap beans to take up north with me, come home and pack. By this time Friday, I’ll be eating supper with my dad.

Sari, glad you got Sah-son out of the house. One of these days, the lad is going to have to face life as we know it… And kudos to the young lady for helping and for you rewarding her.

Red, enjoy visiting your Dad. Treasure them. I visited my dad last weekend…at the Cemetery along with my Mom (1908-2000) :frowning:

Butters, hope it was just the usual sick and the Tamiflu works as prescribed.

Hang in there, Sunny

FCM, the storms waited until 5pm here so as to catch the maximum number of motorists on the road. School also started today, so that will help traffic…

Actually did a little cleaning, garbage goes out tomorrow morning so that will make the house look more livable.

All y’all take care.

It rained while I was with Mrs. Plant (v.3.0) at the Physicians, and it rained again when I picked up her prescriptions.

The lady (I use the term loosely) at the pharmacy asked, “Are you [Insert Mrs. Plant’s (v.3.0) name here]?”
Me: “No, I am her husband.”
TL: “And where is Mrs. Plant?”
Me: “She is home, writhing in pain, praying for death, and waiting for me to get this medicine to her.”
TL: “What else may I do for you?”
Me: “I would like my driver’s license back.”

Geez.

{{{metal mouse}}} I do enjoy going to see my dad. I don’t envy the time when I’m in your shoes.

Our bosses are trying to reinvent the wheel again. As you can see from the bottom of this poster my buddy Bill already did that ------- and came out with something better than them!

I was able to keep the second Tamiflu pill down. I am already feeling a little better. My belly muscles are very sore from coughing I guess.

SIL swapped their DVR for our cable box, and it worked just fine. Then he installed the cable box in their bedroom, and it worked fine there, too. Guess it just needed to be unplugged for a bit.

Meanwhile, I’ve been up since 3-ish. It appears something I ate yesterday upset my gut, and I’ll leave the rest to your imaginations. I’m feeling more settled, but kinda draggy. Glad it’s my Firday.

Did I mention that **FCD **and daughter are driving to Ocala this weekend to pick up his parents? They’ll go to Gatlinburg for a couple of days, then come back here for a while. Not sure when they’ll head back to Ocala. But I’ll be spending my weekend cleaning. And next week, it’ll be me, SIL, and Roxy. That should be interesting…

Happy Thursday!

I’m imagining it was the…figgy pudding. You ate bad figgy pudding, right? :stuck_out_tongue:

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN I was a slugabed until almost seven this mornin’. ‘Tis 77 Amurrkin out and N.O.S. with a predicted high of 96 and N.O.S. for the day. Don’t know if I have mentioned this before, but today I am gettin’ several windows replaced in da cave. The folks will be here at nine to begin and have told me they will be done by noon. We shall see. That’s the big excitatement for the day. Sup shall be grilled boneless chikin boobs, sallit, and cheesey bread. One of our favorite Summer meals.

Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then I suppose I should make myself somewhat presentable for the window folks.

Happy Thursday Y’all!

Blurf!

Up, caffeinating and breakfasting. Getting things done today for tomorrow’s travel day.

Carry on.

Handed notice in on Monday, without waiting to have a new project but being in the middle of a storm of interviews. Got project the same day. Now waiting for a contract while browsing rental listings; there’s one which doesn’t have pictures but it says they’re willing to rent to companies (I’m a company!). Market in The Doghouse is somewhat less crazy than in Madrid or Barcelona, but still a lot of people requiring specific types of proof of income that us self-employed lepers do not get.

Still on vacation this week. Being profesionally lazy, oh yeah.

Safe travels Red. Starting to feel alive again. I may go back to irk tomorrow. I would imagine there are a few things requiring my attention. I may just go back on Moanday. Yes, that sounds like a plan.

I may venture out to the store. My neighbor made me some chicken soup which was very nice of her and she does make good soup but I need a few things from the grocery store. Or not. One minute I feel good and the next I feel bad.

Yay for new windows Swampy. We got all new hurricane impact windows right around Christmas time last year and it made a big difference in our electric bill.

Happy Thorsday!

It was a cool and N.O.S. morning, going to get up to 88 later today.
I hear another heat wave is coming.

Came home from the park sooner than expected. Zeus and Bella were leaving, Ripple followed them to the gate, and then looked back at me and said, are you coming? Guess he was ready to go.
Nothing on the ‘has to be done’ agenda today, however, as always, there is a lot that needs to be done.
