Neither am I. Police actions I can see out my window almost any time I like but cute doggies are another story.
Thanks for the mention of puppy pictures. Very cute pooches, all of them.
The callers were at customary levels of annoying, and manglement is apparently conducting experiments in how little communication they can get away with providing to the peons.
I do hope the Princess dispenses with the 1am wailing tonight.
::shakes [del]fist[/del] finger at Ruble:: (I like him too much for a whole fist.)
G’morn. It’s currently 22° going up to 25° today; mostly cloudy & 95% hoomidity. (Swampy, you can now take the day off.)
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 76 Amurrkin out and clear (well, dark) with a predicted high of 96 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. The plan of the day is to accomplish mowage, clean the new windows (figured I’d give the caulk overnight to make sure it’s good and set before messin’ with the windows), put up blinds and curtains, and go over to the church house to take care of some duties. Sounds like enough stuff to keep me outta trouble. Sup shall be majik intartoobz pizza.
Sunny nice house! Happy movin’! Better thee than me.
Butters glad you’re feelin’ better but I add to the stay home today pile on. Plus, MOOOOOOM said so, so if you don’t you will make  the list.
Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then, onward into the day. Rah.
Happy Firday Y’all!
maybe she was celebrating international goddess erm cat day early?
Bleh, its humid in the desert this …its not supposed to be moist here …normally it’s so dry you’re bleached white … maybe climate change is hitting the north-south west …
I slept with Mel last night, and despite waking a few times, it was a pretty good sleep. **FCD **woke me at 5:15, forgetting I’m off today, but I managed to snooze a bit longer. Huzzah!
Roxy and I are going to the Charlotte Hall Library today. Daughter and SIL are going to rearrange their bedroom so FCD’s folks will be comfy there during their visit. Daughter and SIL will sleep on the futon and sofa in their basement hide-away. Anyway, it’s a fairly big job and they don’t need Roxy underfoot. The library has a kid-friendly section with toys and stuff, and it’s less buggy than a playground in this heat.
Bonus - there’s an Amish farmer’s market that shares the library parking lot - maybe I can get some goodies!
Speaking of the inlaws’ visit - I’m trying to plan some meals. I figure I’ll get some ribs from Aldi and smoke them, and I’ll build a big meatloaf, and one day, I’ll get a couple of rotissed chickens. I got a London broil the other day, so that covers 4 meals. Not sure how long they’ll be here, but this will be a start. **FCD **and daughter will leave here on Sunday and they’ll all be back here a week from today.
Whew, I’m exhausted already! Happy Firday!!
Up, caffeinatwd, and sheveled. Vacationing.
**Sunny **, love the kitchen and the puppah.
Speaking of puppahs, the Facebook memory of today was “Puppy Fight Club” from Conshoken last year.
Morning all. 77F heading for 91F, but the 50% chance of rain has lessened to 20%. Some filing of papers and sweeping of floors is on the agenda.
FCM, it’s never too early to introduce kids to libraries, IMHO.
shady, now you know how us folks in the east (you took care of the other compass points) feel.
Nettie, manglement is a great word and should be in common usage.
Spidey 22 going to 25? You’re either in the Arctic or speaking Celsius…
All y’all have a good Firday.
**MetalMouse **- she’s been to a couple of the local libraries. I can’t wait till she’s old enough to enjoy story time - maybe next year.
I am NOT being a responsible adult today; I am blowing off work. Because we finally have a nice run of weather, I want to stretch Bessie out a little, and there is a motorcycle meeting tonight. Tomorrow is clean-the-garage so this is my chance to roam and I’m taking it.
I stayed home today. I am much improved but not 100% yet.
Boss called and we spoke for a bit.
I think I will try to find a movie to watch. Blurf
Thought it was, at least here in the MMP. Or am I mixing this up with Customers Suck again?
Happy Firday!
It’s a N.O.S. 81 degrees outside, going up to 86.
We spent over three hours at the dog park this morning. Ripple had a good time.
I’d stayed longer if I didn’t have to irk.
Today I have to order the books my son needs for school, and take his picture to email in for his ID.
It’s pay day, but everything that needs to be paid has been paid.
I have a load of towels in the washer that need to be dried, and a ham to put in the oven. Other than that, just the piddling stuff that always needs to be done.
Nice house Sunny
Glad you are feeling better Butters
Have a safe trip Red
Manglement should be a word
Back from the library and lunch and a quick stop for milk. Roxy enjoyed the library - they have a really nice play area for kids, including a computer. She seemed to have fun clicking the mouse, even tho she wasn’t doing anything with it - still just a tad young. She also played with the blocks and the assorted toys, and we kinda sorta read a book. Spent about an hour there.
For lunch, we sent to Tequila Grill and shared a Fiesta Shrimp, which means she ate most of it, but that’s fine. Then a quick stop at Food Lion for milk, and she almost immediately crashed on the way home. Daughter is giving her a bottle right now (she really didn’t have enough for lunch) and I expect she’ll sleep at least a couple of hours.
Speaking of Daughter, she got the teaching job! Unfortunately, they couldn’t work it out so she’d teach science, so she’s doing Math and Literature. Still, she’s excited and I know it’s a load of FCD, since he won’t feel compelled to make work for her so she’ll have income.
Anyway, home with a little time to chill.
I may be out of a job soon. My boss is retiring from the food and catering business. The cafe I work in and he owns, is in the local public library. So the library will look for someone else to operate a cafe in the spot. That someone may or may not have their own people already. Our last day is December 30. I suppose I could retire, but I wanted to work a couple more years and now will not likely find a job like the one I now have.
Call me a snob but I don’t want to work in a grocery store bakery. All I would be doing is making up frozen dough or prepackage mixes. That’s way below my skill set.
I loves me some (good) fruitcake. A fruitcake with just figs in it does not sound good.
I stand by my original statement.
BTW, what are saint candles?
*Now where did I put that popcorn? *
Went to see my heart doc this am. Just a “how ya doin?” visit, but he’d like to do a cardiac ultrasound (I think that’s what it’s called) to check my plumbing. Haven’t had one since 2015 so I’m okay with that.
It’s trying to rain here. We are scheduled to have our roof replaced in 6 weeks. Here’s hoping we have another dry spell at that time.
I just looked out the window. It’s really raining.
One of the reasons we originally bought our current [del]money pit[/del] house was that we are literally 3 doors down from a Carnegie library. Also the Cultural Center is across the street from the library. It wasn’t the cultural center when we bought this house though, at that time it was just a big old abandoned school building.
I can’t tell you how good it is to find someone else on this board that likes fruitcake. I like eating good fruitcake, and I like making it too!
Howdy Y’all! I cleaned windows, accomplished mowage, showered and purtified, and went over to the church house for candle duty and other chores. I’s tahrd! Feel like I got a lot done today so it’s a good tahrd.
Bumba for your edification, here is a picture of saint candles.
Annoying day.
I won’t order the school books yet because the tax free days are coming up. May as well save where we can.
My camera is taking horrible pictures of my son. It adds about 10 extra pounds to his face. So I haven’t ordered the ID yet.
Can’t update my info in the Maryland Exchange because the web site is down AGAIN! Is supposed to be back up and irking on Moonday.
Whatever… I don’t believe them.
I think I need a nap.
bakeryou cant talk the owner and libary into letting you take over the spot?
Also, a restaurant in a library would be cool all we have in ours is a few conference rooms and a donated book store
