Good evening - a VERY late MMP

FCM, I’m reminded of this poster; what it says about yellow jackets is pretty much spot on: A Comprehensive Guide to Yellow Stripey Things Good luck in your campaign.

wetone, hope the season is mild for you; and two days of doing nothing is under-rated, IMHO…

Soccer is completed for the day, rain stayed away but temps made it to 89F, so six hours outside left me pretty beat. Nothing else planned for the day.

Puny off and on. Need to cook but don’t feel like it. I know y’all are tired of me whining. Sorry.

**MetalMouse **- that poster is spot-on!

We went to the BBQ place in Leonardtown for supper. I loaded the day’s assorted dishes into the dishwasher and ran a rinse cycle. Shortly, we will go outside and poison evil yellow jackets!!

Garage is squared away. It wasn’t without pain and the car barely fits (not due to stuff but because the garage was designed when cars were smaller than our Outback) ------ but its done. In case the new assholes who moved in next door don’t go away; which I can assure you they won’t.

Dinner tonight: Breaded calamari steak with piccata sauce for me, calamari sticks with red sauce for Mrs. L.A.; roasted veg (zucchini, onion, red bell pepper, mushrooms, garlic, olive oil, salt, pepper, and oregano); and angel hair pasta with butter and garlic. I didn’t think about wine, so I had a couple of glasses of Kraken rum – which is appropriate, since we had squid. Mrs. L.A. and I agree that dinner was very good.

I’ve made calamari once before, about a quarter of a century ago. I wasn’t impressed. It was much better this time. This was my first try at piccata sauce. Also, I’m not a drinker; so I’m kinda drunk at the moment. :o

Fine. Then post a pic of Ripple in the purple shorts. That’d make us happy too.

Staying up all night and drinking. Which is not unusual, apart from the location

“Obigatory dunken prost”

Or a picture of both of them in purple shorts? Then we can decide if one is indeed special or not.

Some loudness in the hood woke me so what better thing to do than check the Dope?

I haven’t had more than an hour of sleep at a time all night. The stings are crazy itchy!!! And the alarm will go off in about 15 minutes for the travelers. I’ll take another antihistamine and hope to get some zzzzzz when they leave.

The one place I saw signs warning you about pickpockets was in the palace & temples was where you go into the inner sanctum to see the Buddah statue(s). I get it that it’s a little more crowded in there than the rest of the area but that just seems so wrong to have to worry about criminals in that one specific spot. I did have a moment of panic when my passport & travel folio was MIA, but both were in my suitcase, just one layer further down than I thought.

Today I spent in my best Buddhism of contemplation & thought & I even considered some prayer. (IOW, something got me & I decided to stay in & near the God made of Porcelin.) :frowning: It’s quarter after four in the afternoon & I haven’t eaten anything yet. Today was going to be to go to the markets & try some street food. I may just breakdown & do the Mickey Dee’s across the street. I usually would much prefer local food to something that I can get at home but I’m thinking my gut will react better to that crap as I know it (that is if there’s anything the same as on the 'Murican menu.)

I didn’t get one because I couldn’t open the rear ‘door’ with the garage door down. I actually got a longer car but the rear hinges pivot differently so I can open it in the garage.

I’m kinda surprised by that statement; I thought you were more of a drink till you pass out kinda guy. :o

The daddy-daughter road trip has begun. I took a couple of antihistamines and once they kick in, I may crawl back into bed. For now, I’m having a bit of breakfast. I’m also waiting for the smart-ass text that they’ve crossed into VA - it’s about 30 minutes from here. That’s the usual way they keep me apprised of their position - I get reports at each state line.

We looked into the apps that let you track a cell phone, but they all want access to all of your information. Nope, ain’t gonna happen.

Those damned yellow jackets really shot me full of their evil juice. Every place I was stung is hot and swollen. I kept waking up and slathering on hydrocortisone, not that it helped much. I don’t know what else to do. Nassssty basssstards!!!

Happy Sunday anyway!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 78 Amurrkin out and clear (well, daylight) with a predicted high of 94 and a fifty percent chance of rain/tstorms/apocalypse this afternoon. We shall see. The big plan of the day is to deheathenate (I have ush duty), followed by a <snerk> Quickie! <snerk> N.O.L. We haven’t eaten there in a while, so lookin’ forward to that. I foresee an afternoon/evenin’ of nappage and chillage.

Spidey, doggio is a drink 'til you pass out kinda guy. He’s been on his current binge since 1996 and will let us know when that happens.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then purtification for deheathenization must commence.

Happy Sunday Y’all!

Good morning all. Still feeling like a Norse God (Thor all over), so today will be an easy one. 78F heading for 95F, so probably an indoor day too. Some pots and pans to wash and I really should sweep and mop the kitchen, also need to do a 2-hr. on-line course…we’ll see.

All y’all have a good Sunday.

No luck falling back to sleep, so I’ve showered, dressed, and I just finished cutting up a watermelon - it filled 4 plastic containers that are now chilling in the fridge. In an hour or so, I’ll head down to the home show, and then to Aldi. SIL has work today, the travelers are in NC. Oh, and I started the dishwasher.

It got down to the lower 60s overnight and the house is still open. I’ll probably close it up when I leave since the forecast for today is pretty hot. And I should probably scoop the cat box now.

Always something…

Do you nuke them from orbit Mooommmm?

I feel way better today. Just the lingering cough…I am going to cook up a feast since we haven’t been eating real good. I need veggies.

I have a ton of laundry to do mostly folding and putting away. The couch is covered.

HappySunday.

Happy Sunday!

Not really happy, I got woke up at 4:30 because the noisy assholes across the street had somebody out there beeping the horn.
I am so sick of them, and their big mouths, and their screeching brats.
It would be nice to be able to open the windows and enjoy the nice weather, but their constant yelling at the kids and the kids constant whining, crying, and screaming makes it damn near impossible.

Went to the park early, and left early, because something I ate isn’t agreeing with me.

I’m taking a day off irk today, first time in a long time.
It feels weird to not be irking, but I am going to take another day to not do much of anything.

I do need to do some laundry, I got my son’s books ordered, I think, two of the classes didn’t have any books listed. The system charged me sales tax even though this week is supposed to be tax free. I’ll call the book store tomorrow and see what is up.

No pics of Rip in purple shorts, and it seems I can’t get photobucket to work anyway

Back from the so-called “Great Big Home Show” - I walked thru in 10 minutes. It was mostly window and siding companies, one person selling jewelry, and a booth about CBD products. I was accosted by people from just about every booth. One asked what I was there to see - I told him I was just bored. And I was.

So I left, got some stuff at Aldi, and now I’m heating a pizza for lunch. Knittage shall ensue.

Daughter texted me a pic from South of the Border - they’re in SC. Onward!

I love my Sube, don’t get me wrong. But -------- the day I brought it home ---------

Our garage fit our Vue, S2, and even my frikkin 1959 9 passenger station-frikkin-wagon. But that Outback has basically 10 inches clearance front to back (meaning the man door is meaningless once its inside) and about 4 inches side to side with all the flares and mirrors folded in and all. Putting it in the garage is a total tukas-pain. But ya gotta do what ya gotta do sometimes. Its a two person job (driver and spotter) but at least its possible. And with the doors being old and a wooden prop holding them up (the proper spring cannot be had) ------- I am seriously thinking about a total rebuild on the garage.

Up. Caffeinated, and sheveled. It’s under 100 degrees in Savannah for a change. Gonna get together with the demaining Peeps for Sunday Night dinner.

For what it is worth, I always figured a proper one car garage was made by starting with the plans for a two car garage, and adding about 50% more space in all dimensions.

I could have put the van in the condo’s garage, but egress would have been from the sunroof, and I would need a Thunderbird 2 setup to get in…
