Hooray! I’m so happy for you.

Yay! Congratulations, particularly on getting a job you know you’ll love. Good luck on dealing with the customers who pay (rather than the customers who shed).

YAY!!!

Awesome! I’m so happy for you. You deserve it!

Hooray for you, PapSett! Give the pups a hug for me!

Congratulations!

harumphs about some people getting paid to play with puppies, while when I start my newest job in a week, it’ll be doing something soulless and mindless but reeeaaally well paying

YAYAYAYAYAY!
I got all sniffy with the good news!

We need more of that around here!
I am very happy for you!

I don’t think I ever post in your threads but I read them and drool over every picture you post.

I am SO pleased for you - may this be the beginning of a long upward slope for you!

Congratulations, Anna. I’m so very happy for you!

Now THIS IS SOME GOOD NEWS!!!

Congrats, Anna!!!

Damn, I musta got something in my eye … yeah, that’s it!

I’m SO happy for you! I worked at a vet clinic/grooming shop for a couple of years, and the doggies were the best part of it. I still visit my old coworkers every now and then, and sometimes get to see an old friend in for a hairdo. If it weren’t for the crappy pay and total ass who owned the place, I could have happily worked there forEVER.

Best of luck!

So… How was the first day?

Well huzzah. Yay for you. That’s great news - you’ll have to pop in and tell us how today went.

Excellent, excellent news. Many kudos.

How AWESOME!!! I am so glad you not only got a JOB but one you really, really LOVE!! And in such short a time! Some of your fellow Dopers have been looking for quite a long while.

So…when are you going to bring in some of your artwork to sell at this place? My dog’s groomer and trainer/daycare both have local artists’ work for sale in their shops…

Congratulations, PapSett!

I also wanna know about your first day? Are you exhausted?

Well, I missed the chance to wish you good luck, but I guess I’m not to late to offer congratulations. Way to go!

Thanks again guys !

Exhausted? You bet your ass I am ! The only grooming I did today was trimming a Great Dane’s nails; the rest of the day was spent playing with the ‘guests’ and cleaning. The cleaning was the tough part.

Had to bust up a dog fight bright and early; Charity, the Glen of Imal Terrier attacked Sasha, a Carin Terrier for no reason ; I was right there and hauled Charity off poor little Sasha. No blood was shed, thankfully, but the owner of the shop said this is not the first time Charity had attacked another dog, and we may stop taking her in for day care. The 2 big boys, Duke, a Boxer, and Bosco, a Dalmatian/Husky mix, were not real sure about each other, lots of posturing and macho actions, so we thought it best to keep them seperated.

The worst part of the whole thing was knowing that my Gordons were home, locked out in the run, which they hate. I will HAVE to have other arrangements by Summer, because they cannot stay outside in th heat, and I’d hate to leave them crated all day. I will have to come up with something. Not sure what it will be just yet…

I have my first real grooming job tomorrow, a Silky Terrier. Have I mentioned that I am not a Terrier person? Yet that’s mainly what I was dealing with at work. sigh

I don’t suppose Nick and Kharma are welcome at the shop? Was the cleaning everyday sort of thing, or had they let things go so you had to do the down and dirty stuff?

Since you own your home, could you put a dog door in so the dogs can go in and out as they please?

Congratulations again.

Glen of Imals are pretty sturdy dogs that don’t seem to back down from a fight. I’ve heard the same about Irish terriers. Completely fearless, both of them. Damn Irish.
I wish I could Fedex my Murphy ( yellow lab) to you so she could get a good shave. Her hair…I need to card it for wool and turn it into yarn. (She likes pink ribbons.)

No , They wouldn’t be welcome there full time. They only allow spayed and neutered dogs there.

It was everyday stuff, but man… they are clean FANATICS there. I mean they scrub walls and floors Every. Single. Day.

I can’t let the Gordons and Papillons together, too much of a chance for disaster. So a dog door wouldn’t work. In fact, tonight there was a spat between Nick and My dad’s Chihuahua when I was passing out goodies. No way could I let them loose together.

What I am thinking of, just gotta get the money to do it, is to fix my garage up, Dad was working on making a work shop in it, it isn’t even accessable by a vehicle anymore; I could put a window air conditioner in , and let them in there in bad weather. I could even put a doggie door in it.

Just. Need. Money…
