You all will remember my thread on being unable to find a job. Well, I go in at 2 PM Central time for my second interview as a dog groomer at a place called Adorable Pooches Palace : http://www.adorablepoochespalace.com/default.php
Had my first interview Thursday, didn’t feel too confident about it, because the wife REALLY wants someone that has done it professionally, which I haven’t. But lo & behold, she called me back today and wants me to come back in.
This is a job I would love. They offer doggie day care & boarding, and are going to expand to offer training services, which is right up my alley.
I am going out on a limb, and taking my freshly groomed Nick with me, I’ll leave him in the car, and casually ask if they would like to see an example of my work. (He spent the day in the field yesterday, and came home covered with burrs and mud, and reeking, so I gave him The Works, and he looks spiffy now!) It can’t hurt.
Anyway… please spare a positive thought for me…it would be much appreciated !
Hey, I’ll do ya one better…I found their number on the site you linked to and gave 'em a call. I casually mentioned that a “good friend” would be coming in for a second interview today, and that it’d be a real shame if they didn’t get the job, because they’re very good at making sure that…bad things…don’t happen to certain business establishments. So, you should be golden.
But good luck, anyway!
Congratulations! I’m very happy for you and the pooches in your care. Have fun tomorrow and check back in and let us know everything about your first day on the job.
Actually , yeah, we were talking , and I asked if they would like to see an example of my work, they said yes, so I told them the tale of woe, how bad he looked yesterday, and then brought him in. They were impressed, and Richard got down on the floor and played with Nick , who took the opportunity to nummy his ear .
I simply can’t believe I got this ! It is beyond my wildest dreams. A job I can do and not dread going to every day.
it’s 5:14, and i was napping at 2…but if i were awake, i’d have shot out a vibe for you.
remember what i said in that email about finding a way to do something you love? well, congratulations. you’re now one up on most schmoes with a job that they despise. from the depths of depravity to this now. hey, if they’ve got some dog shows or something around, i’m sure you’ll get to know very soon.
and, like always, let us know if there’s anything that we can do for you.
