The IMDb has a great tradition of collecting and cataloguing the various mistakes in theatrically released films. (It’s easy to waste hours of your time reading through the “Goofs” pages for your favourite films.) However, the IMDb doesn’t tend to cover music videos, so I thought I’d start this thread for us to share our favourite goofs in this specialized cinematic art form.
One I always remember is in the 1994 video for “Push” by the alternative rock group Moist. The song begins with a close-up of the lead singer, David Usher, who slowly walks backwards to join the lead guitarist, Mark Makoway, and then the rest of the band. In the background stand members of a live audience, who eventually join the band in the foreground for some grooving and head-banging. The goof comes at about the two-and-a-half minute mark, while Usher and Makoway are still walking backwards. One of the audience members absent-mindedly wanders into their path, right between them and the band. At the last second, someone (probably a member of the production crew) grabs the errant kid by the shirt and drags him out of the frame to avoid a collision.
I’d probably seen the video a dozen times before a friend of mine pointed this out to me. Now I can’t watch the video without noticing it.
Anyone got any other music video goofs to share?
