Got A Beer Complaint? Tell Me All About It! The MMP

Hey. . . wha??? You’re male and I’m female last time I tried looking. We’re difficult to tell apart? And don’t try associating me with your “stuff”! You’re going to tarnish my good girl image. And believe me . . . I’m a good girl.

Hayah! :::karate chop::: My google-fu skills still work!

Hey, get your hand out of my. . . . oh, nevermind! :stuck_out_tongue:

Is that like LOUNE’s one sock or like Jahdra’s knitted long sock or the anklet-sized one she just finished?

Yummy! I love the smell of bacon cook’n in the morning!

 What does this mean?

doggio, that’s group grope hug. You forgot the hug part.

So you don’t like white meat, huh? Can I have your share, please?

Pork. . . it’s the other white meat. (You can forget that I’m a vegan here.)

Hey, where’s my scritches?! :frowning:

Judging from his pictures (if those were his pictures on his website), his parents hadn’t even met in 1960.
What? You all don’t look at profiles?
(I know BBBobbio doesn’t. :p)

:::sitting in the corner with Mamatigs::: What is this world coming to?! Kids, these days!

Mork, you da man!!
And a good morning to you all! I seemed to have missed the party last night. I always miss the good stuff. Well, off to conquer new worlds. Have a great day everyone!

I QUIT my job just now. The library one–I couldn’t make it in even for those little 3 hours shifts. I got tired of beating myself up for it–why I thought I should be able to work one job, take care of 3 kids, go to grad school full time and have another job escapes me.

I feel like I lost 10 pounds. (I wish I had)
beautiful day here today–this is what the weather should be like. Low humidity, sunny skies with some cotton balls and a nice breeze. It’s about 72 outside.

Yay, rigs! Good for you for recognizing it. I usually don’t realize that I’ve taken on too much until I’m staggering under it, usually in tears, wondering why there is **no time ** left in the day/week/month.

I have an interview early next week for an EA position supporting one (1) VP in a manufacturing environment. I have my fingers crossed; I really prefer a one to one relationship. It tends to prevent the pissing matches that otherwise occur when multiple people are fighting over your time.

Good on you, Rigs! Knowing your own limits is actually a good thing.

And good luck with the EA position, Jahdra – I hope you get it (if you want it).

Pet peeve? When people demolish our language. I just ran across this wonderful sentence (name changed to protect the guilty):

“So I was asked to track he as well as Mary.”

Ouch!

Fingers crossed for Jahdra.
I baked a cake to celebrate my loss of employment. But in other news <drum roll>
A psalm of deliverance:
The tech supporteth answered the petulant and pathetic cries from the Rigby; and the tech supporteth, a Jennifer of great reknown, she speaketh to the Rigby in words of wisdom and great power. And the Rigby was sore afraid.

And lo! the magic healing dust was thrown upon the mighty MacBook. The buttons of the keyboard were pressed and the mouse of the laptop was clicked four score and twenty times. Be it known unto all peoples that the Rigby’s Idrive doth work now and worketh well. And may ye hearts be at ease–nay! let your bodies be at ease, for it is written that to the Rigby that labors shall come great rest. So saying, she left the MacBook and hark! the Rigby found her way outdoors to worship the sunporch swing.

So it is written, so let it be done. sallah.

Can I get an AMEN!

AMEN Sister!!!

that’s what gets my AMEN! (peering into the CD drive for my slice)

Yeah, where’s my cake?

Trade you for some chocolate peanut butter squares!

The weekend has begun - with a load of laundry, but begun nonetheless. YAY and stuff.

After almost 2 weeks of frantic craziness, today just draaaaaaaaagged forever. But I survived and I’m home and I don’t have to get up at the buttcrack of pre-dawn tomorrow if I don’t want to. This morning I was deep, deep, dead asleep when the TV came on - what a cruel awakening! I could have slept 2 or 3 more hours, I bet!

I will get the mowing done first thing tomorrow while it’s still relatively cool. And I just re-dampened some of my pots so I can work on them tomorrow afternoon. I have some to decorate, and I want to throw a few more to ensure I can fill the kiln. Plus I want to make some medallions. I didn’t intend to cut it this close to the show day. Stoopit job interferes way too much with my personal life.

I need to grab something from the freezer for supper tonight - I’m thinking fish would be good. Mebbe a nice hunk o’ salmon from my good buddy welby. Or I make my sweetie take me out to eat. Either way…

I want it on the record that* I * didn’t start the nekkid cooking conversation.

Carry on.

I’ve been waiting for someone else to post so I could be first on 6 but no one has (I think you’re all waiting for the same reason) so I’ll take one for the team. Remember me fondly.

Hey, Ya’ll! Remember me?

Happy Birthday, Cuervo!!

scritches under Cuervo’s chin

This has been a weird day. I had to get up at 4 to take Librarian Friend over the river to the hospital in Phenix City for outpatient surgery on her thumb. We get there at 5, only to hear “didn’t you check your messages” and that the surgeon won’t be there until 10. But since she is already there they will start her presurgery testing and I can just come back and pick her up at 11:30 instead of waiting as we had planned.

Ok. I go home and am just getting back to sleep when the phone rings. It’s the hospital - her surgery is over and I can come get her. WTF? Apparently no one bothered to inform the surgeon that he was going to be running late. He arrived at 6 expecting to have a line of patients ready for cutting to find only 1 - he was furious. I imagine some heads will roll if he is able to track down the source of the misinformation. My friend was supposed to be his third case but ended up being first; she said the anestheologist had a bad case of bed head.

The doctor wouldn’t give her the 'script for her pain meds ahead of time (ass) so we had to go get it filled after the surgery. Whatever they used on her was very quick; she wasn’t groggy at all and her thumb was still numb. So we go to Walgreens. They don’t have any Demerol. None of the Walgreens in town do. The pharmacy at Winn Dixie doesn’t have any. So we decide to hit the Wal-Mart SuperCenter after a nice breakfast at IHOP. If Wally World doesn’t have it we will go to the doctor’s office and ask for a 'script for something else. However, Wally World comes through and we are able to get the 'script filled. A quick stop and Barnes and Noble - where I spent $20 on two utterly unnecessary but very adorable stuffed dragons - and I took her home to drug and sleep and I came home and napped.

I have napped, litter boxes are changed and I am biding my time until the Booster Club meeting at 6:30. Our recording secretary won’t be there, damn it, so I have to take the minutes. Grrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Joke of the day: What is the difference between a surgeon and God? God doesn’t believe He’s a surgeon.

Hey, don’t look at me, it wasn’t I who failed the distinction test! And anyway, it’s “difficult to pull apart”

You’re good, girl? Cite!?

AMEN! And knoweth thee that mine counteth double, for it be delivereth in The Language of The Prothetth (which hath no thtoopid ‘th’ thound!! :p)

Also, congratulation on being unemployed  (yes, I know… but it’s a great line nonethless)

**FCM **-- we know you didn’t start the nekkid cooking conversation… but would it kill you to contribute, huh?

Good luck with the interview, Jah!

And **Nava **-- In Hebrew, alarm clocks just ring. Boring language… Language of the Prophets, indeed!

unless, of course, you’re Daffy Duck

Speaking of alarm clocks, a weird thing happened this morning that snowbunny complained about several times, my bedroom TV having been her TV until recently. I woke up at about 6 am to find the TV audio on – not the video, the screen was dark, but there was definitely audio coming out of it. And when I sleepily clicked the off button on the remote? It shut up. Weird, weird, weird. What could make the TV’s audio come on all by itself? And how can I make it do it deliberately? (Cause there’s a New Agey music channel that’s great to fall asleep to but the screen being lit up is all distracting.)

**FCD ** is late coming home, and it looks like I get to take Weds off to take him to the hospital for a myelogram. The neurologist wants one done before he commits to the surgery.

I wish there was another way to get him some relief, but drugs and shots and therapy have done nothing. My poor baby - he doesn’t deserve all this pain. :frowning:

How can I arrange to eat an entire loaf of freshly-baked bread for dinner? At work?

I don’t think it’s possible. Nowhere near that does good bread.
Off to work. I hope someone funny or interesting comes in tonight.

I’m sorry FCD is in such pain, FCM. That’s just really unkind of his body to do that to him. I hope he feels incredibly better after his surgery.

A little while ago the UPS man delivered me an incredible bargain I found online – 3.2 pounds of rayon chenille yarn in “butter cream” for $12 plus shipping. Which works out to just under 13 skeins of really lovely quality, buttery-soft chenille yarn at about $1.88/skein, with 250 yards of yarn per skein. I’m already knitting with it; the yarn is so lovely it needs nothing but a nice, simple stockinette or garter stitch to make a lovely scarf. Yummy! I love yarns that feel good as well as look good!

I never did figure out exactly why the TV would do that, but if I turned off the cable box it didn’t seem to happen, so maybe it was something to do with that? I don’t remember it doing that before I took it to Maryland, so I blame the box, because I didn’t have one on it before. And enjoy it, it’s a nice TV!

My knee has finally settled down – FCD has my sympathy on the back surgery issues – which is one good thing. The next time it acts up we shouldn’t have a major emergency happening, I hope! Assuming no major weather changes, they seem to be getting a good handle on the fire. I wished some hawt firefighters good luck yesterday when I went by the drugstore, too. If it wasn’t so smoky I’d be hanging around in town to try to see some more of them, but it’s too awful to do anything but get inside!

I have to get my ass in gear and go back up to the shop to pick up any messages. Yesterday there were twelve. I hope word has started getting around that we’re closed, aside from my checking messages, but I did manage to finally get a guy who’s been trying to come over to buy some of the super-expensive dog food we carry over there this morning while I was there…well worth it, because he bought $575 worth of it! Granted it’s pricey as hell to begin with, but that’s still impressive. He said something about shipping it to other people out of state, I think, but he bought a total of…mmm…200 pounds of it! I think my getting him over there this morning made my aunt’s day, and also won me a few brownie points for coordinating the sale. Sometimes I’m goooood.

Hey! I got a postcard from Charleston SC! It must be from the Valentine Exchange, I’m thinking. Thanks for the card; I’ve never been there so it’s great to see a picture of the High Battery.

Still very busy at work; my credit card is already charged up for this month’s cycle, which just began on Monday. I had to turn someone from another office down this afternoon, and what’s worse is that I may already be over my limit, due to a charge from July that hadn’t gone through yet. :frowning:

And a Happy Birthday to Cuervo!! That little guy sure lucked out to get a Papa like MBG!

The Rigby is ever basking in the love of the porch swing and the cake. I’ll share it too. <slides pieces into drive for Lisslar and anyrose and MBG(for Cuervo)>
Life is much better this side of the Idrive. Of course, I have two assignments that I have to do on Sunday (my first available day off), but after this week’s hell–I’m looking forward to them.
Boo on the pain for FCD.

SCL–sounds to me (and I am a fairly new same day surgery nurse) that doc’s office informed the hospital incorrectly. Either that or the hospital mixed up two docs schedules. (I have actually never heard of such a thing–we only call to cancel a pt if the doctor him/herself tells us. We’ve never called a pt and told them to come in later–earlier, yes, not later).

Weird TV–could be spies. I’m sure it’s a terrorist cell…from Nielsen.
