Got A Beer Complaint? Tell Me All About It! The MMP

Li Li what do you think of that book? Is it worth buying? I’m a huge book freak, and it looks like it would be a fun book.

This was in Virginia, not Cottonfield County NC. If she was wanted at home, she would not have been a fugitive for long, because the Sheriff is a friend of mine and he knows where to find us. She hasn’t exactly been hiding from the Suffolk cops, for that matter.

We cleaned house last night, and I found the f*cking camera. I’ll take a shot of the baby alien that’s getting taken out. The last batch of kittens are mostly gone, but there’s a new batch, and she’s making a play to keep Ralph from the last bunch. Lots of squeeage there…

Big argument with The Husband. Am off to work. Nice day outside. bye all

Whew - less than 2 hours and I got the mowing done, and I’m now showered, shampooed, and taking a breather before I run out on my many errands. Much of our “lawn” is, in fact, moss. Occasionally a blade of grass or a weed pops up, but as dry as it’s been, that hasn’t happened. So I pushed the little mower on the ditch and the hill, then drove ol’ John in the little bits of front yard and back yard that had grass-like plantage growing, and I went up and down the strip of grass and weedage along the side road, beating it into submission. Unlike the Easts, we don’t feel compelled to keep all 3 acres mowed. Beyond the sheds, we’re letting Mother Nature do what she likes with the yard, so the undergrowth is proliferating. Unfortunately, the pine trees are falling - there’s some sort of borer or blight that’s killing them off. Fortunately, they’re far from the house, so there’s no risk of $$$ damage when they do fall.

I need to get doggie kibble and kitty kibble and wet dog food and groceries and FCD’s prescription refill. Somewhere in there, lunch has to happen. Now, according to conventional wisdom, one shouldn’t food shop on an empty stomach. But it’s too early to eat right now. So, do I exercise self-discipline (yeah, right) or wait a while, then lunch before hitting the grocery store. Decisions, decisions…

I must think on that.

so, we’re having a picnic today - lunch will be bbq chicken and side salads. breakfast is, of course, carbs, carbs, sugar, carbs, and sugar. Joy. I will be crashing and burning by 2pm

The Pixley VFD is having their BBQ chicken fundraiser tonight. VWife has commanded that we get dinner there.

Morning, all. I stayed in bed a bit extra this morning to make up for the last two nights, and also because no Idiots were clattering at the door to be let out. (I’d let Isaac out before I went to bed in the wee hours, and Rusty has iron kidneys so can hold it forever.) So I feel semi-human today. For a welcome change.

 on VWife’s legal woes! Good luck finding a lawyer to make it all go away, or at least come up with a settlement you guys can live with!

I got nuttin’ much this morning. No updates as of yet on snowbunny’s fire. And I’ve got work that needs to be done today, so I’d better get to it. The sooner to kick back and knit for the evening!

No time, no time…

I read a bit but didn’t get caught up. I’m outa here (work) in a few minutes, and then the whirlwind of tasks before we leave - laundry, cleaners, water the plants, packing…

Smooches to all!!!

Well, I’m up, caffeinated, and after today I’m free through the 10th! Of course, as always, my vacation will end up feeling like it was over before it really started, but that’s always the way, so I’m used to it. I am quite looking forward to catching up on sleep this weekend though, as I feel like I’m operating on a significant deficit today.

Still catching up – every time I try, the phone rings. Gah!

I have finally (I hope) figured out the secret to me getting a good nights sleep - working out!

With the upcoming - although delayed for my Dad’s surgery - wedding I have decided I want to be a buff bride! Actually it has giving me the boot in the butt I needed to join weight watchers and the gym. This week has been my first working out week and both nights I have slept like a baby!

I am soooooo pleased it is Friday with the prospect of a long weekend as well - Yay!

oo oo oo oo oo I am adopting a kitten this weekend as well. See this thread (Kitty needs home) I am collecting Libby on Sunday to bring her to her new house!

Squeeable pictures will follow next week!

swampy, I’d like to hear the tale of the donut sticks from Jesus. I might want me some of those. . . or not.

doggio, tell us how meow mein tastes. It doesn’t sound yummy.

Well. . . ummm. . . . yeah. If the best you could say was that I’m “pretty good”, who would want anyone to know that?!

And what a charmer you are! It’s every girl’s dream to be called “pretty good”. . . in a broadcast message.

As to the translations, it must be one of those ‘you have to be there’ kind of things.

Good luck to VWife on the trial!

FCM, don’t have the self-discipline. It doesn’t go well with the whine you had earlier. You deserve a break today. Look at all the stuff you’ve already done. Have fun!

Mork, I hope you’re going to get some sleep on your vacation and that you’re not going to go AWOL again on us just because you’re not working.
It looks like a pretty nice morning this morning except it’s a little warm already. But I’m off to brave the wilds. Have a great day everyone!

Good morning everyone! Did you even miss me? I haven’t been on the Dope ALL week!

We’ve been busy, busy, busy!

Wednesday, I signed my son up for his classes and bought his ASB card and yearbook. We also had his pictures taken. After that, we picked up his class schedule. When that was done, I went to work. Lastly, I came home, did laundry, and cooked dinner

Yesterday, I had to take my daughter to her school to do the same thing. However, we didn’t have pictures taken (other than for her ASB card), because we’re taking her to a studio for senior portraits. I’m sure I’m not going to like the price. Kirsten was a little disappointed in her schedule. Her schedule didn’t reflect any of the classes she really wanted. She did get a Sociology class, the AP Lit/Comp, and pre-calculus, but she didn’t get any of the other classes.

She had signed up for guitar techniques, but I guess not enough people signed up for it. She also ended up with Fitness Walking and Sports Medicine.

She has way more than enough PE credits and the same thing happened to her last year. She wasn’t able to get out of the PE class though. As far as the Sports Medicine, the Asst Principal asked her to try it out and if wasn’t working for her, he’d try to get her in an Art Class (which was her alternative anyway).

Lastly, we’re concerned she doesn’t have enough science credits, so she’s going to check into it and have her schedule adjusted if she doesn’t.

Anyway, after the whole schedule fiasco, we went shopping. We originally went to buy some pens and a new hair dryer for me. Yeah, we came home with a whole hell of a lot more.

Today, I need to take her to the DMV so she can take the test to get her learner’s permit. She’s been studying for a couple of weeks now. I hope she passes it.
Once she has the permit in hand, we can take her driving. Og help me…

I guess I should get going. After the DMV thing, I need to head to the mall.
Hugs to those that need them and here’s hoping that things work out for those that are having problems.

I’ll try to come back later so I can address things properly.

Lunch was yummy, actually, and well balanced. We had fried and rotisserie chicken, with shells & cheese, garlic mashers, steamed veggies, creamed spinach, gravy, dill red potatoes. And there’s enough leftovers for the Saturday crew (of which I will be one this week)
Cake is later.

Taters, what’s an ASB card? Am I tragically unhip for not knowing?

Home from errand-running. I got the critter food and cleaning stuff at WalMart. Then on to CVS for the meds, followed by a stop at Bad Chinese for lunch. Afterwards, I hit McKay’s for a quick grocery run, but I really didn’t get much. Now I’m home, having some ice cream, trying to decide what to do next. Probably finish sewing the sail cover so I can be done with boat-related stuff for a while.

I’ve still got the house open. It was supposed to get into the mid-80s, but it’s overcast, so it’s staying a bit cooler. We’ll see how long that lasts. I’d love to sleep with the windows open, but the crickets drive **FCD ** crazy. Mebbe if I get him drunk???

But before that, I should probably thaw some dinner…

FCM, ASB stands for Associated Student Body. If students pony up for the ASB card, they get into school events at a reduced price. I think there are some other bennies, but I don’t remember what they are.

At any rate, my daughter’s card cost me $30.00 bucks, and my son’s cost $20.00. Throw the cost of the yearbooks for each of them in the pot. So, I spent a total of $80.00 on my daughter (only because I didn’t buy the pictures) and $75.00 for my son (I bought pictures for him).

I still have to buy school clothes and supplies. Blech.

I’m waiting for my hair to air dry a bit, then I’ll go blow dry it the rest of the way. After that, we’re off to the DMV.

Bobbio, I’m sorry to hear about the wife’s travails. I sure hope things go right for you in court. It sounds like you guys did everything you should be doing, but somehow the police dropped the ball. I dunno…I am not a lawyer and all that jazz.

FCM, I’m sorry to hear that FCD is still suffering so much. I hope that this surgery will alleviate it.

Mr. Taters will be helping friends move tomorrow. He needs to be there at 0800. I will probably be heading to the mall. I don’t know which is worse.

I guess I should check my e-mail and try to make a hair appointment for my daughter.

Apparently one should not get sick in this county on a Friday afternoon unless one plans to go to the emergency room.

I’ve been trying to find a new doctor for us, since our former primary care guy left his practice and moved away. We were going into Calvert county, but we decided to try to find someone here in St. Mary’s. I’ve been calling different offices for the last hour, either getting messages that they’re out to lunch, or that they quit at 1 or 2 on Friday.

Insanity! Now I can’t call again till Tuesday at the earliest. Meanwhile, I’m about to run out of my blood pressure meds. I may have to go back to the old place just to get that refilled, then continue the search. But there’s no guarantee that I can find a doctor in this county that’s still accepting patients for our insurance, and one who speaks English clearly enough that I don’t have to fret about misunderstanding what he/she tells me.

I can’t imagine what it must be like if you don’t have insurance. I’ve got Blue Cross, and it’s a struggle.

GRRRRR!

On the other hand, my sweetie is on the way home - he got 59 minutes to start the holiday weekend. So yay.

We’re scratching the DMV thing today. As it turns out, I need to bring my daughter’s birth certificate with me. I thought it was in the desk here in the den, but it’s not. It seems stupid, for a permit. I need to bring her birth certificate, a parental afadavit, mail showing where we live, mail showing that I’m receiving mail for her, and of course, my drivers license. Good grief, what’s next? Retinal scans?

It must be in one of the cabinets in the garage, which means searching for it. When we moved, we left some of the boxes of paperwork in the garage. I thought for sure we’d brought in the birth certificates, but since it’s not in the den, I must be remembering incorrectly.

So, we’ll go to the DMV next Saturday, after my daughter’s portrait sitting. We’d go tomorrow, but even the DMV offices that usually are open Saturdays will be closed due to the holiday.

I did get an appointment to get my daughter’s hair cut today, so at least that’ll be done. I was planning on going to the mall, but by the time my son is ready, and we’re actually at the mall, we might have an hour and a half before we would have to be at my daughter’s hair appointment.

My husband will be irritated with me because he wanted to drive my rig today, and I told him I needed it for the permit application. Damn.

Meeks that was wonderful.

Sorry to hear about FCD, I hope things go better for him.

I’m peeved. I had different exams today and the trainer said he’d mark us down for stupid stuff like spelling or whatever if he could because ‘he didn’t want any of us getting 100% and thinking we knew the subject’. So he marked me down for a few things but the one that annoys me is a question asking for five different reasons for a particular breakdown. I got marked down for giving six. Grrrr. What an asshole. If I know something extra that’s a GOOD thing. On the other hand it was a worthwhile experience for me - I now know what it is like for kids at school who are picked on by teachers on a power trip and how they get to have the resulting feeling of ‘why bother’. And also how they lose respect for their teachers. A powerful lesson on the need for fairness and encouragement.

I want some Ben & Jerry’s Cherry Garcia. Does anyone have some? Can you email it over? Pwetty pwease? (And maybe a soft kitten?).

Yay for screw-ups in timetabling. I have an extra day off this week and two extra days next week and there’s nothing they can do about it. Bwahahahaha. I plan to go shopping.

A friend just sent me a wonderful link to Microsoft’s proposed response to the iPhone. Hee!

You’re having trouble finding a doc who takes federal Blue Cross, FCM? Good grief, around here everyone takes it. I’m honestly not sure if there’s a doctor in our entire county who doesn’t take it; I’d be really surprised if there was. Anyway, good luck finding one. And yes, they do go home insanely early on Fridays, don’t they? Everyone around here does that, too.

Someone ought to complain about that stupid trainer, zelie . Marking you down for providing more info than was requested? What a moron. :frowning:

Can I please just call this job finished and be done with it? This witness is seriously pissed off, and so every time they try to ask her a question she goes off on a rant. Sixty pages of ranting gets real old. Sigh.

Back to the sale mines, I guess. :frowning: :frowning: :frowning:

**MamaTigs ** - I have problems finding someone who takes it and is accepting new patients. Apparently, there’s a doctor shortage down here.

**FCD ** is home and snoring in front of the TV. The critters have been fed. The litter box has been cleaned. The dehumidifiers have been emptied. And, alas, the house is closed and the air conditioner is on.

And I will finish that doggone sail cover today, dagnabbit! If I can just get motivated. I just don’t wanna. On the other hand, when I was in WalMart, I saw a Brother sewing machine that had a walking foot attachment - that would be way cool…
