Your last remarks are like Greek to me, my computer knowledge is limited. I wish these errors were in plain English so you could know what the problem is and how to fix it.

I think the problem is on the SDMB’s side. (Attempting to translate, not really accurate but just to give the general idea)

The SDMB is sending over small programs on the web page that do not load correctly in IE. These are causing the errors and there is probably nothing you (or I) can do except wait for **Jerry **to troubleshoot it.

I believe it is the Board and I think **Jerry **is aware of it already. If not, hopefully he glances through this thread occasionally. I know he has said, that he has many problems and he is working through them by some priority system that makes sense for the Dope. He hasn’t indicated what that is, but it sounded like getting the new Search up and running might be near the top of his list. I would guess most of the errors where we can still post, but we are missing some tools that make it easier are a lower priority.

Try **right clicking **on the Search link and choosing **open in new window **or open in new tab. I found this is working well.

Has this been mentioned? I can’t unsubscribe from threads. Sometimes they get boring and way off the OP, so I unsubscribe. It wasn’t working yesterday, worked once today, and is now not working again.

And, just to save you the trouble, What Exit?, I know that you can get more searches by opening the window in new windows/tabs every time. I’ve tried that and it doesn’t work more than once.

Even though the board doesn’t show it, you still need to wait 5 minutes between searches. I get that same no search error that looks like the screen is just refreshing. Jerry has not yet restored the countdown screen that had existed.

This might be you issue. After 5+ minutes I can do my next search.

I can’t wait to get compound searches back though. They are still missing.

I can’t help you with 10.5.4, but on 10.4.11 & Safari 3.1 I have to control click on search to get a search page, but when I ran a search I got:

With 5 pages I didn’t read through the entire thread but why can’t I do a search anymore? Every time I try I get a message that I don’t have the proper “Security Token”.
WTF?
Please let me know what this is about. What do I have to do to be able to search threads etc…?

If an admin sees this, please send me an email explaining why this is a problem. I doubt I will wade through all of this looking for a response. Sorry if that makes me lazy or difficult.

The hyperlink button doesn’t seem to be working for me. It skips right over the “enter text” part and goes right to the “enter url” part.

That one actually works. You don’t have to enter text anymore. Just write the text like normal in the course of the message, highlight the part you want hyperlinked, then hit the hyperlink button and enter the link. Voila!

I’m pretty sure this is a feature, not a bug. It’s a modal dialog, so in the past, if you didn’t have the text you wanted for the URL ready in your clipboard, you couldn’t enter it easily. Now, try just highlighting the text you want to show as part of the URL, like this*, and then click the “link” button and enter the URL. Voila!, instant hyperlink with your chosen text.

(Link just goes to the Boards’ main page, don’t worry.)
