Any more word on the groups feature? Is that a complete no-go or something still on the table for in the (hopefully soon-to-be-immediate) future?

Sorry if this has been mentioned. I tried to search, and possibly failed.
I’ve been having sporadic ability to click on the little circle next to usernames and get that dropdown menu. At first it was sporadic, more recently it seems not to work at all. Is this happening to everyone, and will it be fixed?
Not really a problem, just a minor annoyance which may only be bothering me.
There seems to a lot more “white space” below the threads, with all the things like “Thread Tools” spread out more, which has pushed the “Forum Jump” further down so I have to scroll down more to reach it. I’ve gotten used to using Forum Jump after I’ve read the last thread I’m interested in reading in a forum, but that’s just me so it may not be bothering anyone else, in which case I’ll learn to live with it.
But I just thought I’d mention it.
I think that’s because there’s an extra box offering display mode options that never used to be there.
That’s certainly part of it. But I notice that “Search This Thread” is on the same line as “Thread Tools” and I’m wondering if either the “Forum Jump” could be moved up or if some of the other items could be doubled up on the same lines to eliminate all the extra white space.
No idea if this is something hard-coded into vB or if it can be changed easily. Again, not critical to board operations, so if nothing can be done about it I’m not going to sweat it.

Does the board automatically log you out after a specific amount of time? For example if I spend a while writing a long post would I have to select and copy for fear of finding I’m logged out when clicking post reply?

No. Once you’re logged in, you’re in until you log out (if you checked ‘Remember Me’ when signing in) or close your browser.
The board does think you’re making a new visit if you’re inactive for fifteen minutes or more, so if you spend a while reading a long thread or composing a thoughtful, nuanced post, all the threads will be marked as old, even if you haven’t read them yet.
This is the forum for asking questions like this, and don’t feel bad about starting threads for small issues!
I click on Thread Tools, and it jumps me right down to the bottom of the thread - it does not give a drop down menu.
I’m missing the ability to subscribe to some potentially interesting threads. Guess I’ll just have to rely on memory and come back and ferret them out.
Is there not a Thread Tools menu at the bottom of the thread? I just clicked on the “Thread Tools” at the top of the page, it redirected me to the bottom of the thread, where I just successfully unsubscribed and re-subscribed to this thread. Is that not there for you?
The “Search This Thread” at the top of the page does the same thing, dropping you to the bottom of the page where there’s a place for you to type in what you want to search for.

I don’t know if it’s been mentioned yet or not in this thread, but I’m having a problem with this: When I go to the second page of threads in any given forum, all the threads are listed as “read”. In other words “no new posts”. So I can’t click on the “Go to first new post” arrow past the first page. Driving me crazy!
Sorry, I don’t have time to read all 6 pages, so I’m not sure if anybody noticed this. My humblest, but hurried, apologies. And it is WAY minor…
If I choose “log Out” I get “An error occured while logging you out, click here to log out.” When I do that, I get an option to “return to page you were viewing” - but it always returns me to the main page, no matter what I choose.

Tried to do a quick search, so I don’t know if this has been mentioned, but I didn’t see it … what’s up with PM’s? I can’t find a place to send one to someone. They posted a message in my user profile but when I tried to return the message, the post didn’t work right and wouldn’t take. I tried to send a PM but couldn’t find a link in their profile for me to send one.
The only access I have found to PMs is from the User CP. On the left hand side you get a list that includes Send New Message. This link should also work. You could always bookmark it to make it more convenient.
There are also Visitor Messages that are not working in IE but work in Google Chrome and apparently FireFox, though I don’t know if it works in all versions.

I was reading the posts this morning the size of the board became very small. Difficult to read. Is there something I clicked on by mistake?
I see that now the Visitor message feature is gone but the PM feature seems to be working. I wonder if the Visitor message feature is going to be coming back someday? I really didn’t play with it much but I could see it as a nice blog/guestbook kind of feature.
Jerry? Ed? Any insight on this (just wondering)?
