Crap, I didn’t even notice. I kind of liked that as well. It was fun to Doper Surf through the names checking out profiles and stuff. A fun way to get to know other Dopers and to know who is getting to know you.
Searching is down again. I gather this is a recurring problem, but this is the first time I’ve encountered it.

How come some charter members don’t have their locations displayed with their posts? For instance, **elucidator **and **Clothahump **both have locations listed in their profiles, but they are not displayed when they post. There are others as well.
I haven’t been able to search since the upgrade, despite numerous attempts: no matter how I set it, it just returns me to the search screen.

Sometimes the main board page thinks it’s around 3:50 PM Eastern on 9/12.
I’m not sure if anyone’s reported this or not, but searching through this thread one page at a time is too unwieldy, so if it’s a repeat, sorry.
Search generally works for me, but occasionally (such as right now), it goes into a mode where, no matter what I search for, I’m just returned to the search options page with all the form fields reset. Anyone else seeing this?
Yes. After exactly five minutes, the search magically works again. Strange that. Very strange indeed.
The font size and type here suddenly appears a lot smaller than it was before… and it’s only on the boards here, so I don’t think it’s a Firefox issue…
I also got this once, but most times it just reloads the main search page. On some rare occasions, it shows me search results ;).
I think I’m getting the page reload when it wants to tell me I have to wait until it’s 300 seconds since my last search, and the fatal error if it would actually do a search.
I see that searching from my user page for threads I started seems to work properly.
On Firefox, pressing control while scrolling the mouse scroll wheel will make the fonts (and other things) bigger or smaller, and it will remember what size you set the page to. So if you had accidentally changed the page size, it will automatically adjust it to your setting every time you come back to the SDMB.
Even if this is not the cause of your problem, you could probably use this feature to fix it.
