The very last scene of season 8 episode 6 opens with a couple in their bed sleeping. One figure suddenly sits up and fumbles to light another candle. It is Ned Stark! He shakes his bedmate awake and says “I just had the strangest dream!” His bedmate wakes and as she tells him to go back to sleep, we see it’s Susanne Pleshette.
He then gets in his second hand Subaru and drives to Amalgamated Electricals, where he works in payroll admin for a plug socket factory. His boss chews him out for having too many whimsical desk toys on his work station. His real surname is Sluggins, and he’s played by Dan Castellanetta.
They’re all in purgatory and Hurley is sitting on the iron throne.
Winter is coming, and the Long Night lasts exactly as it takes for the white plastic chunks to settle in the snowglobe.
Peter Dinklage wakes up in a railroad station and realizes it was all a dream.
And then he wakes up again and he’s the universe’s largest dwarf forging hammers in the middle of a star with melted down Iron Thrones.
An older Sam: “… and *that, *kids, is how I met your mother.”
(Oh, sure, we’d want the last scene to be 80-year old Tyrion dying in bed while getting a BJ but there is no justice in this world…)
