Yeah, also the leg slicing was more than I wanted to see. One of the things I’ve liked about this show is the focus is on character and philosophy rather than graphic surgery.
I’m hoping that Bailey’s free clinic is a way to steer away from surgery because the show is becoming the freak of the week. Bombs embedded in bodies should happen very infrequently.
My silly parents called just after nine and I missed everything but the proposals. While I can believe Burke’s, George’s just seems like a feverish, grief-driven one. Did Alex and Addison get anywhere?
I guess I should just stay home tonight to watch at 8:00.
Addy avoided Alex like the plague until he finally confronted her and asked her if it had ever occurred to her that he wasn’t interested in her? She seemed surprised and said, “But you kissed me back.” and he said, “That’s because you’re my boss.”
That led her to offer him the chance to assist with one of her surgeries.
I figured that Bailey’s free clinic was a way to keep Richard on the show, since he wants to retire and win Adele back. He could run the clinic and not have to keep the insane hours of the surgeons.
I thought it was a very thinly-veiled attempt to satisfy Izzy’s need to do something “good” with her money, but then Bailey seemed surprised at the end when Izzy mentioned it.
I figure neither Callie nor Christine will say yes. It would be out of character for anybody in this show to be in a happy relationship.
What exactly was the problem with the runner?
Of all the big developments, shocks & emotion: the only moment that got to me was when Amish Mom told the girlfriend “I’ll tell your mother I saw you…” I got all verklempt.
I doubt either Callie or Christine will say yes either. Callie realizes that George is still in the beginning stages of grief and isn’t thinking rationally. And Christine just doesn’t strike me as being the marrying type.
I thought so too. The obvious source of funds is the doctor with the $8 million she can’t seem to figure out what to do with. Isn’t that why Bailey brought it up during the surgery, while Izzy was standing there?
Also, were the Amish women supposed to be a couple, romantically? I thought so, but then it seemed the one with cancer just left the community to be with her friend.
I just got a cell phone. I guess TiVo can’t be but a few years away!
I didn’t think so. They were born hours apart and grew up inseparable. I though they were like sisters.
Does Stage 4 mean uncurable? Why couldn’t they “expand” the surgery while they were in there? Why try the radiation or chemo? Or by going home, was she choosing not treat it?
Callie will definitely say no (she looked very disturbed by the proposal) and it will drive them apart again. I like both characters but their romance doesn’t move me enough to make me invest in the whole aaprt/together/rinse/repeat thing.
The end with Derek and Meredith struck a chord with me. I grew up with my parents never fighting in front of us and I just assumed that one fight meant things were over. I like her didn’t know that you come back and keep working on it.
And next week…Ellis remembers everything?!? I guess that would give Richard a chance at love since his wife went out on him.
You can also watch full episodes at the ABC website.
I think “I’m ready to try living together” would have been more plausible than George’s proposal. I get that it’s irrational and grief driven but still…felt wrong for the character to me. But I feel that way often during Grey’s.
Is $8 million enough to open a free clinic?
“I kissed you back 'cause you’re my boss?” Are we supposed to believe he’d kiss Sloan or Burke back?
It’s probably enough to seed the project and attract other donors or support from the hospital.
I agree with you about George; I think it’s great that he is acknowledging how important Callie is to him during his grief, but even a declaration of love seems out of place.
I think Alex just said that because Addison had been avoiding him and he wanted to scrub in on her surgeries. Down the road, I expect to see a scene where he confesses that he lied to ease the awkwardness between them.
There is a slight learning curve based not upon any fault of Tivo but on the networks running shows like “Lost” over their alotted time. (You program it to end at +5 minutes and problem solved.)
On the other hand, it reliably taped the women’s Aussie Open even though I didn’t realize that it was on.
This is not true with Series 2 or Series 3 TiVo’s. It automatically adjusts the recording time based on the priority you give the show in the Season Pass Manager. Just set the season pass to start and end on time and TiVo figures it out for you.
Substandard DVR software like Comcast’s and DirecTV’s might require the finagling you’re describing, but not TiVo. All hail TiVo!!!
