It’s RAINING!!! YAAAAAAAAY!!
It started sometime overnight, and it’s been pretty steady for several hours. About time! We’ve really needed some good wet precip.
Daughter is broken-hearted - **FCD **figured out how to squeeze the truck into the garage, so she’s still parking outside. Motivation for her to buy her own house and garage, ya think?
I have no clue what today’s plans are. Since my laundry is done, I might run a quick vacuum over the rugs and call it done. All I know for sure is **FCD **wants to watch Dallas beat Washington. So I have that to look forward to…
Happy Sunday anyway.
I will be leaving for Fahr Skoohl in about an hour. The topic today is Ropes 101.
Snowbunny - if you want a challenge, vocally, look for your nearest Sweet Adelines chorus. Singing a capella harmonies in the barbershop style is so much more rewarding than standing still with a Mozart score in your hands.
I guess I need to do something useful. Unload and reload the dishwasher, I suppose. Then maybe drive the vacuum cleaner around. Or nap. Or knit.
It’s still drizzly and I just don’t feel like doing anything. Yay for rain!!!
Afternoon, mumpers! Safe travelling, Taters, I know you won’t see this but at least it’s been posted.
I had a fun night out with friends yesterday, had a few drinks with 'im indoors when we got back, and got up late this morning. He was on an earlier than usual train today so I took him to the station at lunchtime and he should be halfway to France by now. He’s had a lot of trouble finding accommodation recently and is looking at the possibility of having to abandon his contract because he has nowhere to live. This morning he said he’d got the possibility of an apartment rental so please keep your appendages crossed that this one works out, is in the right area and isn’t a Nigerian scammer!
Other than that, I have done nothing. I stopped off at the asian supermarket on the way back from the station because I am out of paprika and that state of affairs cannot be allowed to continue. Now I have a howge bag of the stuff and I am happy again.
I’ve planted out my sprouts, repotted two cabbage plants, and watched a couple of episodes of True Blood. Now I’m running a bath and I’m going to spend the rest of the day being slothful. Start as you mean to go on, that’s what I say!
::waves bon voyage at Taters::
Choir sounds like fun, snowbunny.
I would also like to know whether it will rain all day. Also, can you move said rain to Columbus, Ohio? We were supposed to have rain yesterday. Indeed, I observed some water falling. My plants, however, look like nothing happened, so I’ll need to water later today or early tomorrow. Boooooo.
Stayed up too late and woke up too early. So I took a nap when I came home from church. Now I’m having trouble getting motivated to do anything productive. Should do some laundry. Should definitely do something in the garden. Am unable to bring myself to do this just yet.
Hugs.
GT
We’ll miss you, Taters! Be careful!
Safe trip Taters!
We are almost done sorting, organising and cleaning the garage. We have a spare mattress and box springs in boxes from when I moved back from Paris that have been sat in the spare room since I got back. We need to move them into the garage so the spare room can be an office/bedroom but that entailed sorting the garage out and it has been waaaaaay to hot to be out there recently but it is a nice day today so all we have left to do is sweep and hose it down and let it dry this afternoon but we were both starving so had a quick lunch pitstop. Now must get back to it!
Happy Lazy Sunday everyone!
I have deheathenated, had lunch (roast beast, butter beans, smashed N.O.T., rolls and peach cobbler, NUM!) and a nap. Nice day.
It rained here last night. We had just under two inches of rain accordin’ to my rain gauge. Right now it is sunny and hawt out. We may have more rain this evenin’.
That’s what’s shakin’ here in the swamps.
If your rope bursts into flames, chances are you did something wrong. ![]()
PapaJohn is making supper. Daughter is fetching it. I’ll knit till she gets back.
Despite what my favorite weather site said, it has continued to rain all day. Yay for rain!
MIL called - they’ll get here on Sat for a week+ - I need to get the smaller guest room all ready for BIL, plus I need to clean the dog pee spots on the carpet. Stoopit dogs.
It’s been raining all day. Autumn is truly here.
I had scrambled eggs and cheese muffins with butter and Vegemite for breakfast. Lunch was a chip butty with HP Sauce. I want meat. Let’s see… my last tin of SPAM? No, I’d better save it. Can’t be without emergency SPAM. Hebrew National hot dogs? Maybe. I don’t have a bun, but I can fold a piece of wheat bread. Bacon? Nah, I’d have to defrost it. Got some alder-smoked salmon I should eat. But that’s not ‘meat’.
Happy Sunday!
Well, I think I got a bit too ambitious today; I made a curry and was going to make some parathas to go with it, but fortunately for us, I do have some frozen ones that will go on the griddle and taste pretty delicious. I just don’t have the energy to make em myself now! The curry is bison - yep, buffalo meat! To which I added eggplant, yellow squash and zucchini, all fresh from the farmer’s market. It smells soooo good now but that was a lot of chopping and fixing. It’s still got longer to simmer, but me thinks there will be plenty leftover to take to work at least one day this week for lunch. YUM!
I went to a Panderia (sp?), a Mexican/Central American-style bakery and tried out a couple of rolls/pastries yesterday. I was asking for something with raisins; the server shook her head no, but it must have been a “don’t understand” no, because one that I picked did indeed have raisins! I like these treats; they’re not as sweet as what I usually eat. The other pastry has a lemon filling.
Also, yesterday we went to Aldi and tried a frozen crabcake package. It was fairly inexpensive, so we were surprised to find that it was quite delicious! I mixed up some fresh tartar sauce and it really hit the spot. Maybe that dab of horseradish did the trick.
Well, tomorrow is back to work, but at least I do have something to look forward to on Saturday.
Munching on the salmon now. I’m trying it with a bit of hovmästarsås, and it’s good. I’m having a glass of Three Philosophers with it.
Garage is sorted organised and scrubbed clean! mr ems took a bunch of stuff to put in the biiiiiig dumspter at work as he was headed out to the field. The floor should be dry now out there so I am going to put things back in then head to the pharmacy to pick up a prescription and get some beer. We are out of beer!
Supper is grilled chicken, corn and salad. Nothing exciting today.
Johnny I see you had the salmon but when I read your post ponderin’ what sort of meat substance to partake of and saw hotdawg and bacon I thought, “Well, Duh! Bacon wrapped hotdawg, why are you even ponderin’ this!”
mmmmmms I pictured you cleanin’ out the garage, findin’ the car and goin’ “Huh! So that’s where I put it!”
Herbs the curry sounds good. I’m not the biggest fan of curry but that sounds right edible.
I’m stil full from lunch so not thinkin’ about any dindin right now. Maybe a pbj in a little while.
Well, the salmon is just a snack. It’s not 1600 here yet.
Italian food would be nice, but I don’t want to drive 25 miles to have it. Or Mexican. There’s actually a Mexican restaurant here, but it’s overpriced and mediocre. I don’t feel like going to the store, buying stuff, and then cooking it. I don’t really like hot dogs with bacon. I like them separately. I could make a BLT, but I’ve eaten my tomato. Make some cornbread batter, jam a chopstick up a hot dog, and make corn dogs? No milk.
I’ll see what I feel like in a couple of hours, then probably just have a couple of hot dogs. Or maybe a grilled cheese sandwich. Or a Vegemite toasty. sigh I actually can cook! i’m just not motivated lately.
