Grimm Season 5

Finally!

So – Juliette and Mom are dead (or are they?), and Adelind is preggers with Nick’s child, though it’s not entirely clear who the mother is … Wu’s on board … Truble is around … Anyone else geeked for tonight?

I’ve been happy it hasn’t been on, I’ve been using the time slot to reduce my DVR queue.

That being said, I am looking forward to the new season.

I’ve been waiting for this!

But I hate watching on TV and not being able to pause it (I know, spoiled first world problems), so I’ll DVR it and watch it over the weekend.

Not going to be much left of that one (or 7?) Royal family. Will they get the clue and stop trying to mess around in Portland? Or will they manage to suicide the lot of them trying to get Nick, leaving only the bastard Renard?

I have tried watching this show a few times on Prime, but for some reason I can’t get into it. This is annoying to me because I still watch Supernatural. I have watched the first 8 episodes, any one episode that you can say got you hooked?

I’m going to have to DVR it and watch it later this weekend. Postseason baseball is messing with my viewing schedule. The sooner the Royals wrap up their WS title, the better!

Just because Chavaz is Wesen (and is in a secret organization) doesn’t automatically make her responsible for kidnapping Trubel - I thought that was a leap. (OK it was a correct one, but there are other secret groups that might want to do that.)

I’m guessing the group isn’t wholly evil nor good.

Brian

I found Chavez annoying in the way the gave cryptic answers when they showed up at the warehouse. Protip: if you’re going into a villains lair, the more information the better, both for you and for your partner.

I’m pretty sure the Juliette is only mostly dead.

Pretty big roller coaster of emotions for poor old Nick.

It was nice of Adelind to suggest naming the baby for Nick’s mother, though. So is she going to become a non-villain now?

The factions are starting to increase in numbers – we’ve got the royals, the resistance, the Wesen Council, and now this new group – plus the pluck band of Portlanders. More conspiracies and battles, fewer Wesen of the Week stories this season, looks like.

I think you’re SOL. If you don’t like it after eight episodes, you’re not going to start liking it later.

Yeah, until we see her head in a box I’m going to assume she’ll show up again somehow.

I don’t know if reading the credits counts as a spoiler, but:

Bitsie Tulloch, who plays Juliette, was listed in the main cast actor credits in last night’s episode. That might have been because of the brief glimpses we had of her in flashbacks, or it may reflect her continued presence in the cast.

Also, regarding Juliette,

I think there was a major hint that Juliette’s alive in last night’s episode. Chavez visited the Secret Lair and looked in on someone who growled and sounded majorly pissed. Someone commented that she was, “playing with fire.” I think, given the growling and ferocity that it was likely Juliette that she was visiting.

Anyone else think they’re positioning Adalind and Nick as a couple now that Baby Kelly is here?

Regarding Juliette, She will remain dead until the writers decide that it’s time to bring her back.
No one ever really dies in these shows.
I like this show, but I think it might be time to end it, before it gets really stupid.

It seems like you can’t swing a dead cat without hitting a couple of creatures or some secret organization.

Overall, I thought that this first episode of the season was pretty good. A few things annoyed me, such as how Chavez was written, and then just when it appears that she might not be so evil after all, they kill her. Also the cliche of a secret government organization that kind of acts evil, until you learn that they’re doing so to fight another group even more evil. And somehow this is supposed to justify the government groups actions.

I’m glad that Juliette seems to be alive. I was worried that she was really off the show and that soon we’d hear stories about how Bitsie had asked for a raise.

Heh, sometimes even a head in a box doesn’t preclude that… Looking at you, Prison Break…

I don’t like you anymore. I thought I had safely put that behind me, but now the nightmares will return.

I like the names Kelly and Tracy for boys, is that odd? Odds are probably against it, but I’d love to see Nick and Adalind make a probably extremely volatile go at domestic bliss… mostly because of Rosalee and Bud’s conversation in the finale - her delivery was priceless

Bud: “Well, you think Adalind and Nick are going to, like, you know, move in together, and, uh-”
Rosealee: “And get married? No.”
Bud: “Oh, good, good, 'cause, uh, I don’t think that would work.”

I love Bud.
