I believe it refers to the notion that Q.E.D.'s polymath persona, which evinces encylopedic education and expertise in esoterica, is in fact the ersatz erudition of a pseudointellectual poseur. That is, removing his access to Google would be cutting Samson’s hair, depriving Popeye of his spinach, and revealing the decidedly unremarkable man behind the curtain. Which theory has been, perhaps, not entirely proven—definitely in need of some further research.
