GTA: Vice City question (spoliers within)

Ok last night I had a look at the walkthrough for VC as I was near the end of the game and wanted to see what I’d missed.

There’s mention of a final level called Keep your Friends Close which this walkthrough says you get through a phone call once you’ve completed the Malibu and the Print Works. Well I’ve done that along with the Studio and Cherry Poppers.

I’ve received a phone call with a guy moaning about his family getting death threats but don’t see anywhere to go from here.

What am I missing? Is it just a case of going around collecting my money and finding hidden stuff and jumps etc. until I get the call?

Help

You have to own six assets, including the Print Works.

Since you already have four, I’d recommend buying Sunshine Autos, since the missions are easy (if time-consuming), and the Pole Position club in Ocean Beach.

All you have to do for that one is sit in the room at the back with the dancer until you’ve spent around $600 (this can take quite a long time), then leave and you’ll find the club generates motre money. There is no message to tell you you’ve spent enough with the dancer, though.

Oh – for Sunshine Autos, the missions are hard to find. If you go the basement garage, ignore the pink “mission” circle and look for a poster on the wall next to a garage. It lists six types of car which you have to steal and store in that one garage.

Once you complete the list you own Sunshine Autos, and a new car will be spawned in the showroom. There are four lists in total, each one resulting in increased income from the asset and a new type of car being spawned in the showroom.

Kaufman Cabs is another asset you could try too. The missions aren’t easy but they’re not impossible either.

Cool. The walkthrough was wrong. I’ll get to it as soon as possible.
What a game. I’ll be a bit piss off when I finish it as I’m enjoying it so much.

Thanks

Actually I’ve done Kaufman Cabs aswell so I’m pretty close.

No problems. The last two missions are an odd mix: one quite easy, one really, really, really difficult. Once you’re done go find the police uniform and a helicopter and take a look at the northernmost section of the army base. There’s a little surprise there.

Oh I know about the surprise. That’s why I’m so keen on getting to the mission

Have you found the Scarface building yet?

There’s a small apartment block in Ocean Beach near the Pay & Spray with a room horribly reminiscent of the infamous chainsaw scene in the film. The bathroom in it is blood-soaked and you can pick up a chainsaw there too.

Yeah, but is there any way to keep the thing, short of passing the game 100%?

The Hunter will spawn in the army base every time once you’ve completed the storyline missions (you don’t have to get 100%).

If you actually manage 100% you get unlimited ammo, higher health and armour stats, a new outfit – a T-shirt that says something along the lines of “I completed Vice City and all I got was this lousy T-shirt” – and the ability to hire bodyguards that travel with you.

If you get 100 hidden packages at any time during the game the Hunter also spawns at the helipad by Cortez’ yacht in Ocean Beach.
