We went to an Oktoberfest once in West Virginia that was not only in September but was dry. :eek: :eek: Some people clearly don’t grasp the concept! 
I’m being a good girl today and working. Under protest. That is, I’m protesting to myself. But I’m working hard anyway. Even though I don’t like it. Sulk sulk whine whine. Etc.
Um…guys, Oktoberfest is actually in September. If you go to Germany in October, it will be over.
The dry thing is just screwy though.

… it ends the first weekend in Oct. Usually by the third. So, I guess not the whole festival is in September, just most of it.
My liver remembers Oktoberfest in Munich, it is currently begging me to never go back again. Then there was the friend I shared a room with, I had to lock her in the wardrobe to stop her wandering around the corridors nekkid in the middle of the night. See, some folks just shouldn’t be allowed to drink beer…

I think lunch and some hot chocolate drastically improved my mood. Despite Haze’s assurances that bitter is sexy, I think KT much prefers sunshine and flowers so I’m working my way back to that. It helps that it’s turned sunny outside too. That and all indications are that I should be out of work at 5 tonight. Yay!
Now if I can just find a way to kill the next 4 hours…

The boards should be entertaining this weekend. I hope they manage to get the new server(s) up and running before, oh, Halloween. No, I’m not a cynic, not at all, why do you ask?
We had cake for breakfast. White cake with white frosting and vanilla ice cream. We have our big meeting this afternoon, so there are 50 million people in the office today. Luckily for them, they’ve decided to go stand somewhere else besides rightnext to my desk.
I finally got up the nerve to contact one of the personal organizers (people who tell you how to get organized) that I was referred to by our concierge service. Definitely a step in the right direction.
Oh, and there will be adult beverages served after our meeting this afternoon. Too bad I have to leave right at 4:30 and can’t stick around for all the fun.
It looks like we picked the right weekend to take a long computer-free weekend out of town. I guess anything memorable that’s posted during Amnesia Weekend will need to be saved and reposted afterwards.

For a delightful 5 minutes of standup comedy on cake and cakelike edibles for breakfast, hie thee over to the Cake Wrecks blog, which is possibly the funniest blog on the internet, and scroll down to the Aug. 21 entry for some G-rated but hilarious entertainment. And then be prepared to spend the rest of the day reading the whole blog and laughing till you choke. I still think the Aug. 12 “Olympic Rings” entry is my favorite on the entire blog, although it’s hard to choose just one!
