Guess I'll start the MMP

I don’t belong to a club that goes to train shows, or I would. If I ever find one (a club) locally, I would love to construct a module just for the purpose of having something to take to shows. Many train guys do. What I intend to build will be 2 4’x5’ sections that will fit down the stairs, through doors, etc. It will live in the upstairs back bedroom and never go anywhere as long as I’m alive.

Busy morning although nothing got done.
Then I did what I always do when stressed and have to much to do, took a nap.
Which relieves the stress for the moment but adds to the I have too much to do stress.

I need to call a carpenter. I went and inspected the gap in the wall upstairs and it is much worse than my son described it. The way he described it I though it was where the door used to be but it is at the corner of the outside wall, like the two walls are pulling away from each other. I think it may be structural, not just cosmetic.

My firesticks came today (EWR4 PIT5 PIT5 G131), so now I can check out canceling directv.
One more package due to be here Firday and I have everything for Christmas.

Ruble - I guess if somebody is going handle my goodies it should be you  Glad I could help with the job security. It all makes sense the way you explained it, I sure couldn’t figure out what a G131 is.
MetalMouse, who knew you speak da jungle? or would it be airport?

My son only got an 88 on his paper. He is not happy about it. However, unless he screws up badly on the final (gets less than 53 out of 100 points) he has an A in the class. He also has a A in Medical Terminalogy and an A in Health and Wellness - despite his wrongly graded tests never being corrected. As long as he gets good grades on his paper and final, he should have an A in music as well.
I can’t wait for this crap to be over with so I can get him to do a bunch of stuff around here.
I have a list, a very long list.

Congrats on baby George!

Hope you find the job you are seeking RoadRunner.

Bumba, what guage?

We [del]can’t get rid of you[/del] put up with you. :stuck_out_tongue:

Given they were routed thru Ruble, I have to question: are Firesticks the things you plug into monitor or flaming/explosive things?

well depending on the personal preferences female (or male) the “firesticks” could be battery operated and sort of plugs…:p:D
here its cold drizzly and peeps are grouchy …more on that later…

{{Everyone what wants one}}

I don’t know much about building, Sari, but I do know one should not be able to view the outside from the inside through a wall unless there’s a window in it. My former questionable abode had a few views of the street and plants growing through the wall and things. I did not approve. I hope it’s not too tough to fix.

Found out this morning that one of my friends from my old area had a stroke last week. He’s still in hospital, well enough to complain about being bored, but I don’t know any other details :frowning:

I’m also suspecting the person that I also work with is about to drop off the course due to stress. She wasn’t in today; I contacted her, she says she’s taking a few weeks off and will be back in the new year… She hadn’t even started most of the assignments as of last week. I could be wrong, but I reckon she’ll come back in January, realise she can’t possibly catch up and either try to defer for a year or simply drop out.

It’d likely be for the best if she does defer, in all honesty, she’s been trying to deal with the course along with 2 teenagers with depression, a mother with cancer and has basically no grounding at all in science or using a computer, so some of the classes are kinda over her head, but I know she’d feel like a massive failure if she does drop out. Bleh.

We have supped and are now in chill mode. OYKW will be havin’ a soak in the whirlpool tub. Said he had a rough day, bless him.

Nuts if you’re friend is complainin’ then that’s a good sign he’s on the mend.

Spidey I stick around out of spite. :stuck_out_tongue:

Hi, honeys, I’m home! Well, I’m in Ocala. We will leave in the dark of the morning and head for Merrylande. Good cruise, good time, very tahred. More when we get home.

Evenin’ all.

Nut, hope your workmate realizes it’s just a temporary setback and tries to come back smarter and wiser to the ways of education.

Ruble, thanks for the peek behind the scenes. It sounds complicated but somewhere in the company were smart minds to set it up–too bad they can’t make it foolproof, since fools are so ingenious…

Sari, I’ve touched down in over 100 airports on six continents (Antarctica doesn’t have commerical airports) so I do know a lot of codes. But ruble surprised me on the MKC being St. Louis, so there are still things to learn.

{{{Juliet}}}, having the days be rather short don’t help; hang in there.

Bumba, enjoy playing with your trains.

I like pie, too, swampy.
Pretty much a nothing day. Even went out to check the mail and got halfway to the mailbox before remembering there is no delivery today. Finished one book and made progress on another, so there is that. And Manchester United didn’t win, so that pleases me.

Need to go finish nuking dinner. All y’all take care.

The middle of spite is PIT.
::[del] hip-checks[/del], [del]nudges[/del] gently points Swampy over towards that forum::
I suggest every have a drink today…to celebrate the ability to have a drink.

Will you post pictures of the icebergs?
And killer whales?

No icebergs or whales, but I may have gotten some good video of flying fish. I’ll find out when I get home and download it.

Welcome back Mooommm!

{{{Juliet}}} give yourself a break when you can. There’s always a lot going on this time of year, but your health matters too. It’s ok to let things slide and take care of yourself.

Bumba I think I’ve mentioned before that my dad is a model train enthusiast. One of the reasons he just moved was to get a bigger garage for his train layout. Now we just need him to build it.

swampy I’m almost out of TP. I’m starting to panic. A little. Hopefully shopping will be accomplished tomorrow and stave off disaster.

Today my big accomplishment was taking the RV over the Bay/River to the other side of the Delta. It’s being checked over and fixed up. Then it’ll be stored up there until we need it. On the way back, we stopped and looked at bird refuge. All kinds of things are in town for the winter.

Aww, roadrunner. Sorry about this one, but as you said, there’s another in the pipeline.

Congrats on the new g-niece/nephew george!

Welcome back Moooooom! (We all used coasters while you were gone…well, except flytrap :stuck_out_tongue: )

Got a lot of year end stuff done at irk today. This evening, I’m working on Nelson’s indoor barking issue that he came back from up north with. I don’t want my neighbors to have a reason to hate my dog. So far, he’s responding to a firm NO when he starts up. Well, that and praise when he stops. :stuck_out_tongue:

Welcome back Moooommmm,

I watched the service for HW. Was sad in bits. Then I had a good nap. Now the struggle will be to sleep tonight. We had bring in food from the newish good place so that was nice. Cooking and cleaning is so much more of a chore now that it’s bedtime at 5 PM. Still not adjusted to the time change.

Back to the Grindstone. Our annual Tree Lighting Winterfest is tomorrow. Our weekly meeting was at the event helping prepare. I fluffed 6 trees. This event is huge and iMO too big. I may have to go back over there tomorrow to do whatever.

I didn’t work that lane or around that pallet tonight but I did give it a pat on its old Q2 as I walked by.

That’s a particular size box for those of you with dirty minds.

A really big wide box for those of you with dirtier minds.

HI MOM!!! We’ve missed you. Have a safe trip home.

Big enough for a can of bear spray?

Gotta love the Post Orifice.

They don’t deliver to you house here in the over 55 community, stuff goes to a hut to be sorted into 1400 residential boxes. The sorters are all dyslexic. Great way to meet your neighbors, if they haven’t escaped to winter quarters in the south.

USPS packages go into bigger boxes, and they leave keys that may or may not open said boxes in your bin. I had two bins of bigger stuff, and discovered a third key hidden in with the pile of regular mail. But wait, there is more–not only is there packages they can’t be bothered to put in the bin, they left some at the development office. Of course, the odds of getting them a six at night is just slightly greater than hitting Powerball without buying a ticket.

So today was two 5 mile round trips, and there will be another excursion in daylight tomorrow to find stuff that they can’t be bothered to deliver.

On Tuesday, Mom and I went to a laundromat in Chesapeake that will wash, dry, and fold your clothes for you. Considering that the washing machine we use at our landlady’s house is broken, and the other laundromats nearby are crap, we avail ourselves of that opportunity when we can.

After dropping off the clothes, we went to see Ralph Breaks the Internet. Good film!

The clothes weren’t ready for us after we got out of the movie, so we went home after Boston Market.

On Wednesday, we came to pick up our clothes, and hit up a place called Pancakes-n-Things, which has been in business for 42 years. Great mom-and-pop restaurant.

Happy Thorsday!

Up way too early.

it’s a not so horrible 32 degrees outside, supposed to get up to 41 and be cloudy all day.

Today continues the search for somebody to come do some work out here. I hate to spend the money right now.

Welcome back FCM!
