Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 30 Amurrkin out and clear (well, dark) with a predicted high of 54 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. No huge plans for the day except I have to go over to the church house and perform candle duty. A hitchin’ up shall occur there on Firday evenin’, thus the need to make sure candles are all ready. I shall take care of that today as I figure set up stuff will be goin’ on tomorrow so I won’t be in the way of that, or worse, called upon to help. This also means that I get to go back Sattidy to make sure candles are ready for Sunday. Rah. We shall sup this evenin’ on leftovers from yestiddy’s sup. Neither of us minds leftovers so that’s a good thing.
MOOOOOOM welcome back! I imagine y’all may already be on the road for Merrylande so be safe.
flipper when I was a young bear and did not own a washer and dryer, I availed myself of a laundromat that would wash, dry, and fold for a reasonable price. I remember I’d take the dirties over on Thursday evenin’ and pick up fresh, clean laundry after irk on Firday. Good times. OK, maybe not good times, but nice to take dirty laundry in and get clean laundry back.
Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, alas, I must purtify and don goin’ about the public attire.
Awake but not quiet up yet. Tis chilly and very windy. I slept good considering I napped for a couple hours yesterday. I shall go to irk. It will feel like a Moanday. I still have First of Month stuff to do and the dreaded Winterfest event to help out.
Hubby’s friend that comes down every once in a while is coming so houseguest. He’s a great guy, very well read and interesting to chat with and he’s no trouble but houseguest. Oh well.
Morning all. Temperature is below freezing (28F), but supposed to get to the mid-40’s todays with no rain, so there is that.
Need to go shopping for a new toner cartridge, mine has finally run out. Oh, and I ned pickles (which means I need to go to Wal-Mart, since that’s where you can get both with one stop). Garbage will also be put out, although I suspect they’ll be here tomorrow what with the Bush funeral on Wednesday.
Alien, sounds like they should hire some of the residents to do the sorting–couldn’t be worse…
gotti! Go to see you still hanging around us reprobates.
Went out for dinner last night. After two cocktails, I had bay scallops in browned butter with Meyer lemon ricotta ravioli, and a side of caramelized roasted Brussel sprouts. We split a crab cake and a head of roasted cauliflower with cheese sauce. ‘Twas very nummy and I didn’t feel like a bloated muskrat.
Awake and adulting and doubling today and tomorrow. Saturday the Leather Sirs stop by and pick up the bicycles for the toy drive. And then Sunday its back to the Siberian Box Mines. All in all its settling down into “busy but not silly” mode.
I’ve been pretty distracted at work lately, as is sometimes the nature of depression, so I’m getting a little behind. Time to double down and get stuff taken care of.
Add on to the mail story: was waiting for the postal worker when she pulled up today, but she doesn’t deal with packages after they get to the mail hut. She said “Want to see hell?” and opened the door of her 15 passenger mail van that was packed solid with mail. “I’ll still be putting this in boxes at six tonight!”.
Spidey, I was about to be impressed until I read the size of the bottle–50ML. About 1/3 of a shot. Unimpressed.
wet one, quite a meal; you got any money left for Xmas shopping?
Hang in there, Juliet.
Shopping all done, along with all my Xmas shopping (some of it still has to arrive, but the rest is completed). Soccer meeting tonight, guess I’ll make this one (skipped last month’s and almost felt guilty). Another 4-6 hours of soccer on Saturday, but rain is again in the forecast so it’ll work out.
N gauge. I started out in HO and tried to build something in my 8’x5’ space.
It looked like a bowl of spaghetti. So I switched to N. It still looks like a bowl of spaghetti. but now there’s more of it.
And people walking the plank?
There’s an Event for that? I didn’t even get a tee shirt.
You da Woman, Butters!
I still have half of one of those bottles from last year. I likes cinnamon, but Fireball, not so much.

Well, we survived Costco, but it cost me $250 and change to get out of there. Then we had sammies at a sammich shop called Which Wich. The sammies were okay, but kinda spendy for what they were. Firehouse Subs is not worried. For that matter, neither is Subway.
Then we stopped in to the restaurant wholesale place and bought a few things and came home.
We finally got the leaves done in the front. Well mostly done. It was friggin cold out there, and some of the leaves underneath were still so wet that they kept clogging the vacuum.
I still need to wrap up the extension cord.
First make some dinner. I’ll have meatballs leftover from yesterday, he’ll have tacos -again.
Then I’ll get a shower and go back to irk.
BTW, while we were at costco I bought another fruitcake. No booze in this one, but no citron either. It seems to be mostly cherries with pecans and walnuts, and a little pineapple, embedded in what tastes like a yellow cake. Pretty much the way I would make one, except their’s is sweeter than mine would be. Still good though, and a lot cheaper than other cakes on offer at other stores.
I want to make linguini with shrimp, spinach and lemon for dinner, which means I hafta go to the store. Bother.
I’m off to argue with the pharmacy about new medications for my headache. They’re new on the market, and not approved by insurance, and wheeeee, I can hardly wait to do this. Paperirk. Bleah.
