**Sari **- I know what you mean. On the magical ship, we’d go to breakfast, which someone else prepared, then return to a room where the bed was made and the towels were fresh and the toilet was scrubbed. I want my house to be like the magical ship, dammit!
Instead, I’ll be pushing around the vacuum cleaner myself. dammit.
Just had a morning’s work putting up tacky plastic Christmas trees with a random selection of baubles and junk in holiday cottages. It’ll be like visiting the '80s. Cheerful is the best I can say.
Reckon I’ll be in for the rest of the day, the weather’s 'orrid.
metal mouse, back when I had to schlep down to the laundry room to wash, I would wait until I had a laundry bag of drawers before washing them. Over the years, I wound up with ~60 pair (I know, TMI) and since I’ve had a laundry room inside my home, haven’t had to buy any, nor will I have to for several years.
{{{gotti}}} I hope that there’s something available to help your mobility and aleviate your pain.
doggio, the only thing missing from your snowpocolypse list is bacon.
swampy, that sounds like a really fun wedding with cake folks actually want to eat.
Up, caffeinating, breakfasted, towels in the wash and puppy crate cleaned. I need to head to the 'Boro for some groceries today. I’m fixing Mediteranean beets and French lentil soup for supper and Sprouts over there has best produce and bulk bins with a good selection of lentils. Other than that, the only thing on the to do list is kit up the candy cane reindeer makings for the heathen children’s craft tomorrow. I’m hoping that they get into the spirit of Rudolph and come up with some good mutant ones.
Back in my college days I sometimes rode the PATrain (a local commuter rail service) from Pittsburgh to my parents home in McKeesport. Every day there were these four businessman-types who would huddle together in the seats at the rear of the car that faced each other with this briefcase open between them. They were playing with their trains; mostly the Aurora Postage Stamp type if I remember right. They had this little battery operated lay-out/set-up built into a briefcase and they spent the short trip having the time of their lives. There was something about playing with trains while riding one that fascinated me enough that I did some Ns for a while. Mostly now I am Lionel but the temptation is still there.
Wed wasn’t a holiday for our end of Da Jungle by any means. But for the rest ---- my guess is that some sort of problem was spotted (someone crushed or lost it or a bottle of bear repellent blew up on it) and a replacement was ordered and being shipped from Jacksonville. One of the other Mumpers may weigh in if she catches this. But trust me ---- we never move anything unless we absolutely have to.
Red–Yes, indeed, Lawrenceburg is where my market guy gets his ham and sausage. Well, I guess all of his pork products.
Drat it all! There’s only one college football game on TV this weekend {grumble-grumble-grumble}! Of course, it’s Army-Navy, so I’m hoping the Midshipmen get back “on board” with winning this year.
So it’s out and about for an hour or so to pick up the essentials (beer, soft drinks, cigarettes), get back home, dress down, and watch the game (or nap, as appropriate). My car probably knows my standard route perfectly by now… No snow expected, so that’s good for those who don’t enjoy the utter shutdown that a light dusting usually causes in this part of North Alabama. As for me, a foot of white stuff would be awfully pretty. (And, apropos of just about nothing, what idiot decided to start giving names to “winter storms”? Oh, yes, that would be The Weather Channel and other miscreants.)
One of life’s mysteries, why the hell is takes so long to wrap presents? It took me two hours, and I didn’t even have that much stuff to wrap.
It probably doesn’t help that everything keeps disappearing on me. I cleaned off my desk, gathered all the supplies. First thing to disappear were the scissors. Found them, then the gift tags wandered off somewhere. Then my pen went away.
Must be little baby grinches moving everything around.
Got an message from da jungle that one of my packages was accidentally sent to N.J. No idea why, just that they are working on getting it to me asap. Not a big deal though, just a box of Christmas cards and some drain cleaner. There’s still enough time to get the cards out and we’re not out of drain cleaner… yet.
Now my account says my pkg may be lost and to request a refund. When I request a refund I get an email saying a refund cannot be issued and to contact customer service. Well, I’ll wait a couple days before I jump down that rabbit hole. Stupid cat. Just go to Walmart and get some you say? Walmart is 130 miles away. Ain’t happening. That would mean going up to Florida. No Thank You.
Well I am up, dog walked, Fed and here I sit with zero motivation. I suddenly got a craving for Waldorf Salad which is bizarre, but it looks easy enough to make so I need to go to the store.
I believe I mentioned a $100 aquarium light from Amazon for $75 being lost. I did get my money refunded, though and found one on Ebay for $75. The product ships in a box showing the pretty lights, and I think someone with the shipper swiped it, and it now illuminates meth parties. :dubious:
Howdy Y’all! Been a mostly lazy day with a little productivity thrown in for good measure. I did candle duty and we decided to drop in on the continuin’ weddin’ festivities for a while this afternoon and have some Mexican foodstuffs. OLÈ! Thus instead of sketties 'n meatballs for sup we shall nosh as desired and have that for N.O.L. tomorrow after deheathenization. 'Tis rainy, cool, and dreary out so happy to be inside warm and dry.
were at the end of inside decorating hell and moving to baking and shopping hell…it was warm today folks be goin to the town xmas fest in the middle of town at 5 ……
I’ve only been married the one time so it isn’t me but I may have known him; McKeesport and the surrounding metropolitan area (Liberty, Port Vue, Glassport, East McKeesport) is like that. For “six degrees” – we usually make it in 4. Now if he was a drunken lout he could have been a relative from mother’s side of the gene pool. Almost all of them are 3rd-4th generation around there.
The cat is fine; its more sometimes bits and pieces of Da Jungle. I know someone sorta from that end and with the limited information they are given they do miracles. But a day or two wait is always a good idea when dealing with us.
a) Almost all our stuff ships in our boxes and not the OM package. Unless it was a “3rd party” thing in which case all bets are off. In other words, we got no idea whats there.
b) Trust me; none of our workers know anything about meth; if they did they would be moving a heck-uv-a-lot faster. Now pot on the other hand …
george, that’s where my new year ham will be from. Yum!
Groceries were purchased and supper tonight is some seriously awsome French lentil stew that I made with some of them, Mediteranean beets and a hodgepodge of beet greens, the rest of the celeraic (including the celery stems still attached) with some small ham pieces I had in the freezer. Tis good. It’s been drizzly outside today, so Nelson didn’t get to go to the dog park. If it doesn’t improve tomorrow, I’ll take him to Lowe’s or Home Depot for a walk when I’m done heathenizing.
Well, 8 hours of indoor soccer with ages 4-12 and I ain’t dead yet (doing a reasonable facsimile of it, though). Things went well and it was a good day for indoor stuff, it was rainy and cold when I went in at 8:30am and it was still rainy and cold when I left at 5:30pm (ate lunch 1:30-2:30 when it was cold and rainy). Listening to the rain now, have now wish to go out and check if it is still cold, but I suspect it is.
FCM, have a good time at the party you are now at…
swampy, when there’s a wedding down there, you folks go all-out, don’t ya?
wetone, I never figured out the appeal (?) of RuPaul. But whatever rows your boat.
All y’all take care. I suspect it will be an early night for me.
