Guess I'll start the MMP

Lunch is cafeteria fried chicken (2 legs and a wing please) and mac and cheese. Twill soothe my ravaged soul.

Fourth load in the washer, at least 3 more to go, so laundry day will spill over to tomorrow.

Roxy is a hoot! She figured out how to open the doors under the TV all by herself, and she decided the DVDs needed to be removed. So we need to get childproof locks for pretty much everything! And she seems to have grown in the 2 weeks we were gone - daughter thinks she’s on a spurt, since her appetite is up and all. Babies are an adventure.

Speaking of company parties, mine is tomorrow night. We’ve gone twice - it’s really well done. They say heavy hors d’oeuvres, but it’s seriously a meal, with open bar, and dancing till midnight, tho we leave lots earlier, since we’re not dancers. But **FCD **will do some schmoozing and it’ll be a nice night out.

Then Sunday is our anniversary - 35 years! Who’d’a thunk it? Especially considering we were virtually strangers when we eloped. I’d say we done good.

OK, back to chores. Quit distracting me!!!

I got him to add Abraxas to his paper. He didn’t say a whole lot about it. but honestly the first word that comes to mind when I hear Santana is Abraxas. While I have always liked him I didn’t really get into learning about him. He started out playing blues, went to rock, then went to jazz, then back to rock.

My breakfast ended up being a cut up left over porkchop and some canned chinese vegetables mixed in with beated eggs, and fried. I poured a little gravy on top and had a kind of sort of egg foo young. Not as good as the real thing, but not so bad.

Still no conractors but my niece’s ex? current? whatever is supposed to come Wednesday. I know fixing the wall is outside of his ability but he can at least look at it for me.
He could fix the other wall as he knows how to hang drywall, but that is not something you get done in one day, and since he lives 2 hours away not much sense in him doing it.

Houseguest is a great friend so he’s not a pest but just having someone around is a little bothersome.

Home from the salt mines. Steak night at Casa Butters. I am tahred and foresee an early bedtime after ingestion of steak.

Happy Weekend finally!

Howdy Y’all! Been a pretty chill day at da cave. I like that. Sup got made and et and I am all gussied up for the biiiiiig weddin’ for which we shall leave in about half an hour. Such is life in south Jawja.

Steak sounds good. So does the Mexican place down the road with the yummy margaritas. Or a movie. It all sounds good.

I am a little upset with the jungle. I was expecting a package of cat toys on Wed. Well Wed was declared a holiday so I received an email stating that my package would be delayed. Then tracking showed my package here on my little island. Today no package so I check my account and the package is in Jacksonville. WTF? Jacksonville is almost as far as one can get from my little tropical island. Do they just move stuff around because it can’t just sit somewhere for twelve hours? I want my freaking cat toys.

Rant over.

Missed the edit. Yes, we or I buy presents for our
cat and dog and do not hold them to any date ofthe calendar but the arrival date. Guess Sister will have to wait for her stuff to take the long route. So there:p

metal mouse, the company generally provides such fare as Jim & Nick’s, Uncle Bud’s, and like places. This was school lunch level disappointment.

george, was your ham from the Amish community around Lawrenceburg?

Juliet, I used to hostess for my SIL’s employer’s tailgate parties, including seats for the Titan’s games about ten rows up on the fifty yard line. All it cost me was making small talk with execs from some very large corporations.

Irked, got home, went to the Green Dragon to hear a friend play and had a pastrami on rye and a Black Abbey draft. All were quite good. Now, I’m in my jammies with a sleepy dog on my lap. <3

Helped to set up the gym for indoor soccer tomorrow, should have about 50 kids (ages 4-7) cycle through in 4.5 hours–hope there is the help I am planning on.

Paid the water and electric bills for the month, next on tap are the phone/internet and credit bills. I usually have all the monthly bills paid by the 21st of the month, so more are due in.

Looks like swampy isn’t home from the wedding yet; must have been a good reception.

Butters, I think you’re right, they don’t have the warehouse space (or some addled employee put it in the wrong container). Hope they show up by Moanday.

FCM, wish you hadn’t reminded me of laundry. I have about 4 loads availalbe but I’ve been ignoring them until I run out of something; and I’m down to the last 3 pairs of underwear (I know, TMI), so I guess Sunday will be washing day.

Ugh… I need to wash clothes too.
Not looking forward to it, but then I have been incredibly lazy the last few days.

I need to go to bed.

First important thing I did this morning was get myself in gear and go online to enroll in an ACA health plan. I’d been putting off doing it but was surprised at how relatively easy it was.

Boxed up and mailed a gift for the Secret Santa exchange, cashed some checks at the bank, and so on.

Tonight was the quarterly trivia game at the library. Most of the questions were Christmas oriented. The team I play with didn’t win, but we did better than the last couple of times.

Remember the major back surgery I had a bit over five years ago? (Two level lumbar fusion) Well, half of it didn’t work. My back was hurting so I went back to a surgeon I worked with about 10 years ago. He sends me to the physical terrorists, who make things worse. Then we do x-rays…there’s no bone growth in my spine. Just the screws and a “fusion cage” that was filled with a sort of bone fertilizer. Now it’s just sitting there between two vertebrae, all alone. UGH!

We took 'Beamette out for her birthday dinner. We tried a new place and it was really good. She had a good time, which makes me happy. I had 2 beers, which is a lot for me nowadays. This may count as my drunken posting. :stuck_out_tongue:

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 48 Amurrkin out and cloudy (dark, actually) with a predicted high of 51 and rain beginnin’ later this mornin’ and lastin’ into the night. ICK! I need to go over to the church house to take care of candles. May do that in a couple of hours just to get it out of the way before the ickiness starts. Other than that no real plans for the day. Sketties 'n meatballs, sallit, and cheesey garlic bread shall comprise sup. Nice to have sauce and meatballs already made up. I shall take 'em outta da freezer shortly to thaw.

The weddin’ (don’t think I mentioned that this was a weddin’ of two young gentlemen) was really nice. Large crowd on hand (filled the place up) and a beautiful ceremony. It lasted almost an hour and a half however. One gentleman serves as our organist/choir director and the other as our verger. The choir was involved and sang a beautiful anthem. The length of the ceremony was due in part to Communion bein’ a part of it all and Communion for about three hundred people takes a little while. The reception was fun. Instead of a traditional cake, one of the gentlemen’s mother and a sister baked traditional southern cakes. Thus, chawklit cake, German chawklit cake, strawberry cake, butternut cake, red velvet cake and caramel cake were served. Also brownies and Krispy Kreme donuts cause, well the guys like KK and why not. Cheese straws were available so the weddin’ was indeed legal. Also other assorted munchies as well as champagne and beer. Ale’s Angels, the official band of the local Beer and Hymns was on hand so we ate, sang, and made merry. We got home around ten. All we wanted to do was go sleepy bye so we did. All in all a good time was had by all. The fun continues this afternoon with a reception at the local amateur theater featurin’ Mexican food and margaritas. OLÉ! We may or may not go dependin’ on how ick the weather gets.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then I suppose I must purtify and don goin’ about the public attire. Le sigh.

Happy Sattidy Y’all!

Second night in my own bed, waking without pain. YAAAY!!!

Never seemed to have this problem when I was younger, but the old bones prefer memory foam. At the moment, I’m trying to decide whether to get up yet. I think I shall play some tablet games for a bit.

Happy Saturday!!!

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to work. Double today. In case the Snowpocalypse comes tomorrow, I got a full tank of gas, a metric buttload of TP, a case of beer, and 4 different kinds of whiskey.

gotti,

Dragged out of bed around 7 to tend to Higgs, then I loaded the dishwasher because I didn’t bother last night, and now I’m caffeinating. There’s a little more laundry to be done and tonight’s the company party. Dunno if **FCD **will make it - depends on how he feels. He was pretty punky yesterday - achy and chilled and just feeling like crap. Poor baby…

Roxy was screaming like a banshee this morning, but now she’s making happy sounds. I’m guessing she’s been fed and she’s having Mommy time.

And the house has stopped rocking - my inner ear no longer thinks I’m on a ship. Stoopit inner ear! :stuck_out_tongue:

My beautiful wonderful ugly as sin creosote bushes were pumping out tons of ozone this morning after a night of rain. God, I love those things.

Happy Saturday!

The sun is shining, but it is only 23 degrees outside.
BRRRRR!
Glad I am inside and the furnace works.

I have lots to do today, since I have been being lazy.
I don’t feel like doing anything though.
However the dishes in the dishwasher aren’t smart enough to find their own way home, and my lazy assed clothes won’t bring themselves down to the washer and jump in on their own. My vacuum isn’t as ambitious as a roomba, my clumsy broom can’t sweep by itself, and the dust rag just lies there lifelessly, no energy at all. I am surrounded by lazy incompetents, but what can you do?
Where’s a Jeannie or a Sam when you need one?

It’s always good to be prepared Doggio!
