Guest MMP - Still missing Rue and stuff

It’s been a kitchen-y day. I baked a punkin pie, mixed up 2 batches of rotisserie rubs - 1 All-American, one jerk - I marinated a couple of steaks for dinner, and I made up some roasted tater chunks and green beans to go with the steaks. All this while doing laundry and running the vacuum and organizing my spice cabinet and generally tidying up. Dinner will be ready in a little bit - the house smells yummy.

Turns out I don’t need to iron - we both had enough ironed shirts to get us through the short week. So that’s good. Last chore of the day will be to pack tomorrow’s breakfasts and lunches. It’s been a good weekend.

This sounds like a challenge.

I vote for a man in a giraffe suit.

I’m sure Feydeau is waiting right now for you to go get a giraffe suit and show up. :stuck_out_tongue:

I’ve been a busy swampy. I went to church, then went to a big ol’ lunch in Parrott, GA. It was at a cafeteria type place. Well, that’s what it is on Sundays. On other days of the week they take your order and bring it to you. 'Twas good! Then I came home. ACBG went home because he had laundry to do. I baked a bunch of cornbread for two batches of cornbread dressing I have to make this week. I also did some last minute tidying up of the house cause people are coming over for a steak cookout tomorrow. I should iron some shirts but, like FCM said, I got enough for the short work week and I got enough to pack up and take with me up to mom’s on Friday. I’m going up on Friday and spend the weekend with family. We’re having a Thanksgiving gathering on Saturday and on Sunday I’ll go to church with mom and do lunch before returning home. It’s all of a two and a half hour drive so it ain’t all that bad. Pretty much four lane road too. We’s all fancy and modern like that around here these days. Wednesday morning I am frying two turkeys at work for a Thanksgiving lunch thingy. Plus, I have two Thanksgiving baskets to deliver at some point in time either Monday or Tuesday. Seems like it just gets busier and busier when the holidays start. At least all I gotta do for Thanksgiving day is make dressing and gravy. I must make gravy. Nobody else does it right. So, the turkey maker is giving me all the giblets.

Have I mentioned before that Thanksgiving is really all about the gravy?

Oh yeah- we went to the craft bazaar. So much kitschy stuff in such a small space… <shudder>

And, for the record, pumpkin pie made with splenda instead of sugar is just as yummy! At least with my recipe, it is.

Hubby is better, not perfect. All of his facial injuries are cosmetic and will heal fine. The current diagnosis is that the medication he was first prescribed caused a “prolonged Q-T interval.” Which means his heart would “hicough” when he coughed.
They changed the medication, and now he’s slowing getting better.
He may bea ble to go back to work by the end of the week.
My cough is stil pretty harsh, but, I’m getting better too.
I can’t sit up anymore now, Good night.
I’m looking forward to the new MMP tomorrow. I am not post, but I will read it.
