Guns N' Roses refuses to play sober.

According to this:

Guns N’ Roses has cancelled a show in Portland, Maine because state law forbids performers from drinking while on stage. The bands press release says that a band spokesperson blamed fire marshals for “making it impossible for the band to perform their show to the usual high standards that their fans deserve.” I wonder if they really believe they play better drunk? I also wonder if they *really do * play better drunk.

Without Slash that band no longer exists.

Ever seen a Guided by Voices show?

A band’s gotta have its principles.

I’m assuming if they’re drunk, they’re at least going to sound better to themselves.

Or a Replacements show? Hey, wait a minute…isn’t Tommy Stinson in G&R now? This isn’t Axl’s faullt. It’s all Tommy.

Axl’s already self-destructed at least one other tour. And screwed up his commitments to release Chinese Democracy several times. And burned a bunch of fans through erratic behaviour and cancelling other concerts for bizarre reasons.

Let’s face it. The guy is nuts. When this latest incarnation of G 'n R implodes, it’ll probably be the last time he can get anyone with any talent to pay the slightest bit of attention to him.

Then the next time we hear about him it’ll be a tragic story of fallen rocker dying alone in some fleabag motel somewhere.
