Guns, Runs, & Zev(u)ns - a Russian currency conspiracy MMP

I’m glad that we cleared that up.

I find the thought of a blindfolded, smoking deer handing out firearms to hunters somewhat disturbing. He could shoot the hunter, and claim being blindfolded as an extenuating circumstance.

swampy is a Good man.

Still puny but got some mucinex and a decongestant. Hubs is cooking some supper. Lots of fresh veggies and cubed steak and rice and gravy. I am so puny. I think a nap is coming on.

We went to the horsepistol to see Mr. Frank and then to Booger King for a burger. Mr. Frank is all over the place talkin’ out of his haid. Dementia is no laughin’ matter. However, some of the stuff he talks about is just dang funny. For instance, he’s on the third floor but school buses are ridin’ by his window every mornin’. Last night he was at a party that went on all night. He got lost goin’ to Dawson and left his pickup on the side of the road and walked home. However he knows everybody’s name and when his nurse asks him if he knows where he is right now he’ll answer with Phoebe, the name of the horsepistol. Phoebe Putney Memorial Horsepistol to be exact but everybody calls it Phoebe.

Sunny in answer to your query about kielbasa, any kind of good snausage works good IMHO.

**swampy **- thanks for explaing buck scoring. I kinda thought it had something to do with antlers. But no one in my family ever hunted. We had a neighbor when I was a kid who used to butcher deer in the back yard… in suburbia… in Baltimore county. ick. He gave us some venison steaks once, but I didn’t like it at all.

I gave **FCD **a haircut, then helped him figure out his workshop layout. We moved a couple of small machines to the back of my studio - they’re wheeled, so if he needs them, they’re easy to move out again. Then while he futzed around down there, I assumed the crochet position in front of Netflix for a few hours.

The London broil pot roast was pretty dry and meh. I’ll shred the leftovers and dump BBQ sauce on it for a meal later this week. Maybe I’ll buy some good buns for that meal.

I did manage to put together a peach crisp using my last 2 gigantic Amish peaches. It’s cooling down, and we’ll ingest it soon. Then I need to build my lunch for tomorrow. I have to ride in with my sweetie and he usually leaves earlier than I do. We’re going to take his 2 welding helmets so we can look at the eclipse - weather permitting, of course.

All in all, it’s been a pretty good weekend.

Happiness is a warm puppy.

Nelson wasn’t feeling up to speed this afternoon when he met Jake (my friend’s son). Some time inside under the AC and an extra bowl of water helped. Now, he’s just cuddling. We’ll try some fetch when the supper dishes are done.

I fixed a new recipe of garlic chicken over butternut squash noodles and orange sricha green beans. The green beans were good, although I will use more sricha the next time. The chicken was OK, but I likely won’t fix it again. Of course, anything is OK if you wash it down with a glass of wine.

What about if we give flytrap a blindfold & a cigarette & give the deer a fully loaded rifle? Iffn the deer doesn’t know how to shoot, I’d bet we’d have a few volunteers to give him a ‘watch me’ demonstration.

That’s downright !!! It’s August, nobody & I mean nobody should be seeing skool buses driving by at this time of year. It’s a mere 15 days until [del]that horrible awfulness[/del] skool starts. :frowning:
Mooommm, didja go to the game?

I’ve fallen behind. Yesterday I did a request-shift for the ZL side and had to go over my hour limit but the managers threw some raw meat at HR and look to have smoothed things out for me. I’ll know for sure when I (try) to badge in tomorrow. From there I went right to a motorcycle club picnic. I got home about 9pm and was asleep a half-hour later. Got up today around 8:30am (I was rather impressed with myself) and adulted around the house. Tried some sample pieces of the desk with a water-based stain and HATED it so I started sanding it back down and am going to go oil. Yeah – the professionals all say water. Well I ain’t a professional so I’m going with the stuff I know and have used before.

The house is now full with eclipse guests. So far, no traffic issues or any other problems. I think we may have to put some people on the floor. I’m all out of air mattresses and couches.

I’m hoping everyone will get out of my kitchen soon. I want to sneak in and get some chocolate. :o

Feel better everyone.

Mom! Welding helmets may not be ‘strong’ enough to prevent eye damage, unless they are #13 or 14, I’m told. Seriously. Be careful!
