Guns, Runs, & Zev(u)ns - a Russian currency conspiracy MMP

Dinner tonight will be vegetarian chili verde, just cause I make a killer chili verde.

I was gonna tell you a long involved tale about the idiots at city hall sending me a bill for my business license that I just renewed in April, but I don’t have the energy.

Dinner.

Green chili?
OK, fine.
:dubious:

doogggioooo**. Feel better. I am in dying mode down here. No fever but head and chest cold. Wheezy. Miserable but less so I think than last night. Still a mouth breather.

Yes, green. It has green stuffs in it, like tomatillos, poblanos, anaheims, sometimes jalapenos. So it’s usually green.
Chili verde typically has pork in it. I just happen to have a good recipe that’s vegetarian.

It’ll be okay. Trust me.

Did AlexCatt scratch you, Johnny?

Are you Hot blooded?

I woke at 5:19, if my clock radio is to be believed. So I got up and tended to the morning routine. And now I’m here. At least I had a good, solid sleep last night.

Yesterday, I got my Ebates BIG FAT CHECK (yes, it says that) in the mail - for $6.76. Interesting definition of both big and fat. It is, in fact, a check… Granted, I don’t shop on line all that much, but I’ve got to wonder about the people on the Ebates commercial who talk about getting hundreds of dollars back - WTF are they buying!!!

It’s a coolish morning - about 68° - but it won’t last so I’m not going to bother opening the house. I’m hoping for an early autumn.

Today’s plans include helping **FCD **set up his shop. He just ordered a new lathe and mill and he needs to make room for them. The old lathe is on Craigslist, and he’s debating whether to list his almost-ancient drill press. This is all for his post-career career. He wants people to pay him to build prototypes of designs. Our company is actually interested in that. So we shall see how it goes.

We’ve got tickets to the ballgame at 2 this afternoon - I’ve got a feeling he won’t want to go, but we’ll see.

Thus beginneth the beginning of the end of the weekend. Happy Sunday!

When one goes to bed around 12:30ish, one shouldn’t set their alarm for 5:15; it’s gonna be a loooong day. Hopefully some nappage shall ensue.
It’s 61° out right now. I’m wearing a light running jacket, shorts, & Wellies! How’s that for fashion? :o

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 70 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 97 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. This mornin’ we shall go check on Mr. Frank before deheathenization and then not much beyond that except N.O.L. somewhere TBD. Grabbin’ a burger would be fine with me. I’m sure at least I will go back to the horsepistol late this afternoon.

{{{doggie, Butters, and any other sickies}}} feel better.

Spidey makin’ a bold fashion statement is always important.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then purtification for deheathenization must commence.

Happy Sunday Y’all!

Happy Sunday!

Accordding to my phone app it’s N.O.S. outside, but according to my window it’s cloudy outside.

Not much on the agenda today, basically SSDD.

Afternoon all. {{Sickies}}

We hates moving, yess, precious, we does. Everything gets so complicated, especially when you get critters involved (got so focused on the bees, I forgot I had an aquarium to move as well). I’m at the stage where there seem to be boxes everywhere, and clutter is apparently at the height of its breeding season. Why do I have so many things?!

Morning!

Hugs for all the sick mumpers.

Today RT will be heading out on the road again and I will begin my clandestine work on preparing the backyard to be turned into a driveway. He thinks we should hire someone, but I’m not the delicate flower, so I’m going to do as much as I can on my own while he’s not here!

Oops, he’s coming down the stairs, I’d better make myself scarce.

We grabbed a McBreakfast. **FCD **has gotten 2 inquiries about his lathe for sale, so we may miss the ballgame if the potential buyers come over this afternoon.

Other than that, not a lot. I pulled a hunk of London broil out of the freezer - it shall be supper. Exciting, huh?

I feel like a Norse God; Thor all over.

Coached soccer Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, then spent 4 hours in the sun (80F+) working a “Jamboree” (which meant hundreds of kids out playing soccer all at once). Spent the rest of Saturday pretty much wiped out.

Today is bill-paying day and the second of at least three loads of laundry is just finishing up, so after that maybe water the lawn or maybe just go back to bed…because I’m due to coach soccer for kids every day next week and then coach three games on Saturday. I’ll report in next Sunday if I am still alive…

Hope all the folks feelin’ poorly get better.

{{{[del]sickos[/del] sickies}}}

Up and caffeinating. A friend is dropping his son off around noon to help me take my old kitchen table and chairs to Goodwill. Another friend who was moving from an apartment to a house had a nicer one that he delivered yesterday. After that, Nelson gets a bath, lunches/breakfasts prepped and supper fixed.

We just finished figuring out FCD’s new shop layout. We moved the router, one bandsaw, the cutoff saw, and the mill. We know where the new mill and new lathe will go, and with luck, the old lathe will be sold soon.

My sweetie is very clever. The mill is quite heavy and once he removed the temporary casters from its base, we were faced with getting it into its final position. I saw us pushing/walking it back, but he grabbed 3 of his pipe clamps, removed the clamp parts, then lifted the edge of the base with the dolly so I could slide the pipes under it. Then we rolled it into place like our ancestors used to do when they moved their ancient mills on logs.

So now we’re taking a break and I’m guessing he’ll be checking his messages to see who, if anyone, wants to come see the old lathe. Still unknown if we’re going to the ballgame or not.

Well, sometime during the night I murdered a mouse.
I had originally put some poison traps in the back of the cupboard 'cause Wifey didn’t want to see any little mousey corpses. (Like she was gonna have anything to do with that.) But the mouse’s continued existence was driving the Yorkie crazy, and the Yorkie was driving us crazy, what with leaping off the bed at odd hours of the night and racing to the kitchen to bark at the cabinets, so a more immediate option was employed. The old fashioned snap trap. I disposed of the corpse this morning.
I feel kinda bad. The poor little guy, (or girl, I didn’t look), was just trying to make a living, when an uncaring universe brutally snuffed it’s little life out. :frowning:
But we old geezers need our sleep.

Everybody who’s sick: Stop that!

Mom, backing up a bit to your country living festival, or whatever, I understood all of that except ‘buck scoring’. Is that some kind of athletic event for male deer, or what? “Well, he’s gonna lose a point for missing that triple putz, what do you think Dottie?”

I can’t help it. These things just come into my dottering old brain and I have to get them out somehow.

Y’all have a great sunday.

Howdy Y’all! Home from deheathenization and the reception for Deacon Jim afterwards which turned into N.O.L. cause there were all sorts of nummy little sammiches, fruit, other munchies, iced tea, punch and bday cake. Nappage to ensue shortly.

Bumba buck scorin’ has to do with the measurement of antlers to see whose is biggest. It is very involved includin’ height, number of points on antlers, outside and inside length and width and other stuff. I know this because of where I live not because I’ve ever actually done this sort of thing. I went deer huntin’ exactly once in my life knowin’ all along that even if that deer came up to me with a cigarette hangin’ out of its mouth and a sign around its neck that read “shoot me I want to die” I would not be able to do so.

:p:D

How about a cigarette *and *a blindfold?

Nappage has been achieved. I kinda wish I hadn’t. Now I feel all blech.

Not even if it also had a fully loaded rifle to give me.
