Guns, Runs, & Zev(u)ns - a Russian currency conspiracy MMP

I got my puppy flight instructions.
Going to BWI, which is a lot easier for me.

I will get to meet his sister, who has already been named.

I’ve been working on a name for several weeks and still nothing.

Awoke with the sneezing and nose blowing and coughing one normally associates with “the crud”. That and the cat fighting with her friend next door.

What doesn’t kill you makes your stronger. We shall see which one it is. And I am starving but shall not feel up to feeding in the middle of the night unless I had someone to wait on me. Like a grilled cheese sammich would really hit the spot but only if someone else made it and there is no cook available that the moment. There is chocolate cake that would require 30 seconds of my time to procure. Do I feel like getting up for 30 seconds? Damn I hate to be sick. Gonna make a mad dash for that cake now.

It would be so nice to be able to breathe through my nose holes.

Up, caffeinated ,and sheveled. Off to work. My sinuses are killing me.

Feel better, Butters.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 74 Amurrkin out and clear. Also one hunnert percent humidity! The predicted high is 95 and N.O.S. No doubt the heat index will be well over a hunnert. Yep, ‘tis August. I shall purtify myself in a bit, go grab a McBizkit, and head to the horsepistol to check on Mr. Frank. I’ll stay there until JDD’s sis gets there. The plan is for somebody to be around at all times in case a doc shows up so we can get some kind of idea what’s goin’ on. However, when I leave this mornin’ I am not goin’ back. OYKW and I shall spend some quality time at the cee-mint pond this afternoon.

{{{Butters}}} hope you get to feelin’ better soonest!

Now I need more caffeine and then need to purtify. Then, onward to the horsepistol! Rah.

Happy Sattidy Y’all!

Actually, the game is Sunday at 2:05 - it a Beauty and the Beast theme, so I’m guessing there will be many kids there. And if you’re willing to travel all that way to watch the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs, well, you might want to check your medication…

**sari **- it took us several weeks after we had her to name Higgs. In fact, we tried on 2 other names that didn’t fit well. Naming critters is a serious matter! But yay on BWI!!

Poor Butters:frowning: Sick suckz.

Our toad-soaker last night was bad enough to damage 2 of the coleus on our PORCH which is under roof! I’ll try to salvage what I can - I’d wanted some cuttings for a houseplant anyway, so I guess now I’ll have to take care of that. There’s also *another *branch down in the yard - our trees are disappearing piece by piece. Thankfully, nothing that has fallen caused any damage to home or sheds, so there’s that.

I’m pretty sure I slept thru the night. I didn’t hear **FCD **come back, and he’s still crashed. Today’s agenda includes laundry, *finally *emptying the dishwasher, chunking up a watermelon, and dealing with the aforementioned coleus.

There’s a Country Life Festival at the fairgrounds - I had suggested we go, but looking at their website, I don’t think we’d enjoy it. Beer tasting? Buck scoring? Country music? Gun giveaway every hour? Nope, not exactly our scene. We’d gone to one some years back which was more along the artsy-craftsy, old farm machinery type of event. Plus it’s gonna be hot today. So we’ll pass.

Once my sweetie gets up, we’ll decide whether we’re going to breakfast today. Then the games shall begin.

Happy Saturday!

I hereby declare that summer colds are the worst.

I guess I shall be lazy today since I am puny. I have been watching period dramas of the British sort so I shall find another one of those.

My house looks like a tornado passed through but it will have to wait.

Anyone else here ever watched John Oliver on HBO. I think it’s Last Week Tonight. It is some really funny stuff. I highly recommend it especially if you are not enthralled with our new president.

Happy Saturday!

The cat kept me up all night. He wouldn’t settle down at all.
Everytime I would fall asleep he would start slamming into stuff, or meowing in my ear.
He’s been out of treats for a couple of days now and he is miserable about it.
I’d like to go back to sleep for a bit but I’ll wait and take a nap later.

It’s a N.O.S. 74 degrees outside and supposed to get up to 87.

I have lots to do today, I should probably make a list so I don’t forget anything.
I suppose I should be checking out all this eclispe stuff.

You’re a good man Swampy Bear!

I hope you feel better soon Butters.

I was a CNA when I was a teenager; they left some important information out of our education. One is, if you live long enough, your public hair goes grey. Would’ve been nice to know before bathing that really old person.

Welp, the “free speech” advocates (actually neo-Nazis, white supremacists, and KKK) will not see me at today’s counter-protest in Boston. It’s overcast and muggy, and I still have yesterday’s migraine.

I love the idea of “accidentally” throwing up on a neo-Nazi holding a swastika flag, but I don’t think I can manage being on the commuter rail then the T in to Boston, so…I’m home.

And I’m marginally annoyed that several friends have said that they’re glad I’m not going. Grrrr. I was a punk rocker! I am tough (although I look like a soccer mom these days). I know how to handle myself in violent crowds! I did undercover work while journalisting!

Of course, I was younger then , and could run a hell of a lot faster…

Sorry, hope that wasn’t too political.

Do you have sheetcake?

She missed the tagline - Instead of wearing sheets, eat 'em.

**Butters **- I’ve watched clips of Last Week Tonight on YouTube - I loves me some John Oliver!! I figured out how good he is the time he filled in for Jon Stewart on The Daily Show - I was really impressed!

First load of laundry is on the line and second is in the washer. I’ll finish the outdoor laundry with a load of sheets, because, as you know, unders go in the dryer since I’m not motivated enough to hang all them unders and socks on the line - it takes for-freekin’-ever!!!

Humidity reigns. Thank goodness for a/c!!

I will be getting sheetcake tomorrow. I love cake.

:D:D

Howdy Y’all! Mr. Frank was a little perkier this mornin’ but not by much. I stayed until JDD Sis got there. She and I visited for a bit (Mr. Frank was asleep) and I left. I have achieved nappage cause I was sleepified and am now goin’ out to the cee-mint pond shortly. OYKW is already there. 'Tis hawt out but the water feels coolish so that will be nice.

Spidey I like the tagline. Perhaps we should help her out and start using it.

Butters I hope you feel better soon. Take naps!

Swampy glad Mr. Frank was doing a bit better this morning. I’m glad he’s got family and friends around now. I imagine it makes the hospital not so lonely.

I can report still no gray hair. This year I will turn 50, FWIW.

I’m doing two longer walks a day now with Pepper. I keep reminding myself that it’s good for me, but some days it’s hard.

Two more days before the eclipse and suddenly we’ve got additional folks climbing out of the woodwork to stay here and see it with us. I’m at a loss now as to where to put everyone.

Apart from dealing with the clothes on the line, my chores are done. Go me!

We had quality time at the cee-mint pond. It was soooooo nice. Even though it is hawt outside, the water felt good. We came in, showered and then made a really good dindin. I chunked up and par-boiled some Yukon gold N.O.T. I also par-boiled some brats (the snausage kind) and some peppers 'n onions in beer. I drained the N.O.T., took the peppers 'n onions out and cooled 'em down in ice so I could chunk 'em up, placed the N.O.T., peppers 'n onions in some heavy duty foil, dotted it all with butter and OYKW put 'em on the pre-heated grill to cook for twenty minutes. Five minutes before they were done he put the brats on to brown up. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO NUMMY!!! I’ve done the N.O.T., peppers ‘n onions in heavy foil on the grill before. Raw they take about forty to fifty minutes to cook. Par-boilin’ is definitely the way to go.

SurlyBunny forgot to say earlier but hope you feel better soonest. I see the “rally” got all broke up due to counter protests. Good on the counter protesters!

I worked twelve days in a row, repairing the network and improvising wireless networking for registration last Sunday.

I was looking forward towards seeing the eclipse with Mrs. Plant (v.3.0), but her daughter has taken her to Saint Louis for Mrs. Plant’s (v.3.0) birthday.

The unglued siphon drain of the 30 gallon cube aquarium began to leak. I added a union to the PVC plumbing and glued it up. I will install it tomorrow night.

Without adult supervision, I’ll watch my DVDs of the NY Met performing Wagner’s Ring operas. That is, I suppose, come compensation.

My back hurts like hell.

Given all that’s happened this past week, I probably shouldn’t ask this, but IF your side won, would you be adding a union or a confederate?

NY Yankees; no one here likes the Mutts…& which Mumper lady is you calling fat?

Now to figger out some dinner. I just snacked on crackers & hummus & there’s some chicken could make but I doanwanna.

We went walking in the Talking Gardens today. It’s an area where they use marsh-land to do the final clean up of waste water before it goes into the river. It was really nice. Ducks and turtles, and a bunch of cascades and little waterfalls. The dogs had a blast.

Sorry about the eclipse watching flytrap, and happy birthday to the missus.

Swampy dinner sounds delicious. I’ve got some kielbasa. I wonder if I could do a variation on your recipe with that.

Pepper is taking a nap. I feel like I should be using the time to be productive, but I don’t wanna.

Hell if I know.
My Grandmother was from Illinois. (That will be our little secret.)
Arkansas seceded by the state legislature, but not until the Feds asked them to send people to kill their friends and neighbors in Tennessee and Mississippi. Northern Arkansas went for the union.

David O. Doddwas captured by Union soldiers carrying messages to Confederates. He was hanged, it didn’t work, and some Yankee sergeant tugged on his legs until he died.

Oh yeah, the First Arkansas Cavalry, CSA, fought the First Arkansas Cavalry, USA in Fayettville, Arkansas, where the college that my Masters Degree is from.
Go figure.

I have a fever.
and no cowbell is gonna cure this one.:frowning:
