This is one question that has a dozen answers. Or, maybe, just one; it depends. While I loooove! long hair on women, it doesn’t look good on every woman. Someone asked why women tend to cut their hair shorter, as they get older. IME, there are two reasons.
One, it’s easier to maintain, and they aren’t as concerned about knocking a guy off his feet, any more. And, two, shorter hair looks better on older women, in general. Long hair accentuates any wrinkles or sags by drawing the eye down.
For younger women, it depends on the woman’s style and the shape of her face and head, plus the texture of her hair. Some women just don’t have the right combination to look their best, with long hair.
So, although I prefer long hair, in general, I don’t really care what length it is. What I care about is whether is enhances or detracts from her overall appearance. And, I also agree with stuyguy about the ears, necks, etc., assuming those features are attractive, in themselves. Ears can be very yummy!
Funny story… I had my hair very short for a very long time (even shaved at one point)… I was on a bus going into town for some shopping before a holiday - a little old lady sat behind me on the bus (I know cos normally I would have taken the seat she was in cos I generally don’t like people behind me).
Anyway, the journey took about an hour and, after we got off, she touched my arm and said “I have to say that you have the most beautiful shaped head I’ve ever seen”… I was kinda shocked but she was said exactly what you said stuyguy, that I also had a neck like a swan’s
I was thrilled with myself
I can’t wear my hair that short anymore, cos I have a very large, though very fine, scar on my scalp and very short hair would just accentuate it. Anyways, I’d miss that feeling of hair on my neck
I’m a guy with long hair and I like that feeling too
I’ve enjoyed being with women who also had long hair, but generally not as long as mine. Also enjoy being with women who have short hair if it has personality. She of the at-this-point resiliently longterm relationship has short curly-springy hair which is lots of fun to run my fingers through!
Some women look great with long hair. Some women look great with medium-length hair. Some women look great with short hair.
Hair is just part of the overall package (for me, at least.) I don’t take particular notice of length, style, or color*. It just has to ‘work’ for me, for that particular individual.
Long hair, when worn in that late-70’s feathered style, is simply unacceptable.
A) Long, curly red hair.
B) Short and sleek black hair.
I have to second what people are saying about the exposed neck, but at the same time there’s just something about curly red hair that makes me drool and want to play with it for hours.
I personally think that in general, very long hair is sexier, but there are exceptions. In some cases, I find short-haired women very attractive as well. There’s no set pattern for me, I just decide on a case-by-base basis. It’s also interesting to note that my tastes have changed over the years. When I was a teenager, I would have said that short hair was better.
I like long hair on women too, but it’s not a deal-breaker. I realize how many women don’t like taking care of it & start cutting. I’d prefer they didn’t, but I have no real say.
My current object of affection has the most beautiful near-waist length black hair. It’s nice on her, when she doesn’t keep it up.
I suppose I’m a bit of a neanderthal, but i prefer long hair on women simply because to me it looks more feminine than short hair. One of my pet peeves is women who wear their hair long until they get married, and then quickly go for the bob because they no longer have to worry about attracting a man.
In general, I prefer short hair. Natalia Imbruglia is a case in point - I found her much more attractive when she was wearing her hair short. Then again, Mrs. Phoenix has long raven black hair and I’m still nuts about her…
No, I’m serious! Though in general I do like long hair like most other posters here, recently I have had the admittedly odd desire to find a bald girl. Cue-ball bald. Of course she has to have a good-looking cranium.
Maybe it’s just because it’s something different and unusual. You don’t see many bald girls, so it’s “exotic” or something - I like to buck the trends.
