You have obviously met us. We are HERE for the venting.
I’m getting the popcorn out, if you want any?
A pox upon you!!! At least you could have said he’d be in a metal band!
Grands have been turned over to their mom, and Domino’s made supper, since FCD didn’t feel like going out. Worked for me - I got the pizza on the way home. We’ve got 2 days of rain ahead, but Sunday is supposed to be nice, so we’re going to go boating. But the rest of today is for chillage.
this after noon is incredible draggy i think I shall nap lol
The sciatica has been kicking my ass at about 2PM when the naproxin wears off. A few advil makes the rest of the day go ok, but this really sucks.
JtC, I’ll agree with you on the masks helping with pollen allergies. I’ll be wearing mine at inside gatherings until the risk in my county is down to low.
Crossing appendages for the job interview nut. Would your parents be having a cow if you were tending bar or managing one? Same difference where weed is legal.
Glad the itch is subsiding nellie.
{{{doggio}}} Sounds like you had a sucky day.
Sciatica sucks VanGo (as you well know). Hope that you get some relief soon (heat generally helps mine).
Irked, came home, walked Nelson between showers, et and promptly took a nap.
I got a message from my former neighbor today. Since they moved, they host a monthly play date for a bunch of their dogs’ buddies at a dog park between locations that has a mixed enclosure. Mike gave me the sad news that Kobe, the GSD, former SDPD K9, had passed. He had been going through his third round of cancer and was 12 years old. He was scary smart and Nelson wanted to be him when he grew up. He will be sorely missed. They are hosting a memorial service at their house Sunday, with the dogs invited. He’s hoping that having some of their buddies around will comfort Snoop, the mastiff of the house. I has a sad, but we’ll be going to pay our respects.
Stay safe and healthy y’all!
Same, dude. Same.
Sorry for the double post, but I just saw this.
I think it’s incredibly endearing.
\color{red}{\text {Red}} Sorry to hear about Kobe. I remember your stories about him. He sounded like a very good boy. I think having the pup gang over is a great memorial.
Howdy everyone. Tis soooo hot. Tired of it. Ready for fall.
Got my shutters and I love them. They look great.
Planted some more bulbs and gave the kids my credit card and ordered 20 bags of mulch, six bags of dirt and a toilet innards repair kit. The mulch was just being delivered so they shall get it early tomorrow and help me spread it.
Other than that there is sloth happening big time.
Evening all. Decided to ignore the water problem for awhile and went to the gym to pedal bikes nowhere. Knocked off 800 calories according to the computers on the bikes, which I then put back on with a couple BLT’s. I haven’t changed my eating habits, but I haven’t increased my intake either and with the added exercise, things are working out.
Nothing much doing this evening, will do some readin’ along with the internettin’ and make do until Firday. All y’all take care.
Up from naptime, watching the NHL Draft.
Nice.
Howdy Y’all! I got my ‘scrips (I gave up my actin’ career when I left high school sunny), took care of errands (includin’ the replenishment of the chawklit supply) and slothed the rest of the day. Instead of goin’ to the not too shabby Chinese hog trough buffet, we swiped The General’s sup from the place down the road. It wants to be stormy out but so far no dice. We are promised a stormy day tomorrow. We shall see.
shoe appropriate/inappropriate appendages crossed re the potential new gig.
MetalMouse hope the water woes are resolved soonest.
I expressed concern over on the book of faces that we would no longer get BooFaes descriptive names for Boris Johnson. She assured me there are plenty of folks waitin’ in line to receive descriptive names and I needn’t fear.
shades I approve of afternoon nappage.
VanGo hope you’re feelin’ better this evenin’.
red sorry to hear about the loss of the doggy. I love the idea of the memorial however.
Happy Thorsday!
It was a rainy 70 degrees at the park this morning. Supposed to get up into the low 80s and cloudy all day.
I almost didn’t go; Ripple is not himself. He didn’t want to go to daycare yesterday, my son was going to bring him back out but by then one of the girls there had already taken his leash. I called and they said he was a little quieter than usual, but he was fine.
This morning he didn’t want to get out of bed, then he hung back on the porch when I left to pick up my son. He finally came and got in the truck. I think he is just very tired. I knew Barky and Humpy wouldn’t be at the park, and it would be quiet, so we went.
I think Park Friend #1 has been sticking pins in a Barky mom voodoo doll. She has been having one thing after another disrupting her life, making it so she can’t come to the park.
My son was supposed to get out early every day this week. That’s not happening because so many people are calling out sick. He wants to take some time off, but I told him he should save it for when mom passes. He gets two days off, but we have no idea how much time will be needed.
1100 calories burned. Like the masochists say, it feels so good when it stops. When I was walking through the complex afterward, a pit bull mix was straining at her leash to get to me. (I know pit bulls have a bad reputation, but all those I’ve known have been sweethearts.) Her owner said, “She saw you coming in the gate (a block away) and got very excited.” It’s nice to be liked by dogs. They never nominate idiots for president (or PM), get excited over simple things, and forgive all.
red, is it silly that I teared up over the dogs-invited memorial? What a wonderful idea! I’m donating my body to science, but I may send a note to my kids saying I’d like dogs at my service.
shoe, I’m willing the dispensary to hire you. I have a little fantasy that someone spikes your mom’s cherries with cannabis, and she mellows into a better human being. She must be jam-packed with insecurities and anxiety. Anyone sane would be proud to have you as a daughter and sympathetic to all you’ve been through. I know I would. (Sanity certificate sold separately. Some restrictions may apply.)
MetalMouse, I salute you for 800 calories burned. And a BLT is practically a salad on bread.
FCM, I hope Tobias’ heavy metal band calls themselves The Squall.
VanGo, how long has it been since you’ve seen a doc about the sciatica? The problem with taking naproxen daily is that it hurts your kidneys, as my sister and one of my friends found out the hard way. I hope there’s a solution for you. You have beautiful works to create!
swampy, you were in high school plays? Do tell.
Sari, I hope Ripple feels better. You know him best, so if something is off, trust your instincts. Is he tired because of Barky? And I shouldn’t have chuckled over the voodoo doll of Barky’s mom. I’m sorry she’s had health issues. If only she’d have an epiphany.
Doggio, hope tomorrow’s better. Homer Simpson: “Here’s to alcohol: the cause of, and solution to, all of life’s problems .”
I typed a long thoughtful post to everyone and the interwebs ate it.
Shoe, I’m sure you will be hired, they would be foolish to overlook you because you are all sorts of awesome. I did giggle about your shoes falling apart in the parking lot though. That’s the sort of thing I thought only happens to me.
GG is finally getting to be a good cuddle cat, my hip and back were killing me this morning so I was dragging myself out of bed and GG jumped up and convinced me to get another hour of sleep. It didn’t really matter, I’m going to hurt no matter what and it’s probably better to be well rested and hurting than sleep deprived and in pain.
While I was out feeding the yard flock I picked another handful of cherry tomatoes, so yum. I just love this time of year.
Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to heave. It’s supposed to rain off and on all day, so at least it won’t be a dry heave. Ha, ha, I crack me up. I’ll be here all week. Try your waitress, and tip the veal.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 76 Amurrkin out and mostly clear with a predicted high of 94 with rain this afternoon/evenin’. We shall see. No big plans for the day. I foresee quality cee-mint pond time, sloth, nappage and general overall uselessness. Sup shall be grilled ham steaks, green beans, scalloped N.O.T. and rolls.
Nellie not much to tell re my actin’ career. I had parts in all of four plays durin’ my high skool daze. I graduated from high skool fifty years ago, so 'tis but a distant memory.
JtC I am glad GG has started to find his callin’ as a cuddle cat.
Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day! Rah,
Happy Firday Y’all!
My bladder seems to think 3AM is wake-up time. At least today, I managed to fall back to sleep… eventually… until 6.
I checked my little veggie patch last night and discovered that if you stand still too long, the zucchini will reach out and wrap its tentacles around you. I had to break a few and move the vines off the tomato cages. Sheesh. I have a few very green cherry 'maters (thought I’d planted beefsteak there, dammit) and I noticed a lot of flowers from the cuke vines had fallen off - does that mean I won’t get cukes? I started my garden way too late this year, so I’m not expecting much, alas.
Our replacement display for the boat is being delivered today - mini-replacement. We got the 7" model because the 14" one cost over $3K - big nope there! Its separate cable is to be delivered by Tuesday - so we shall see. FCD got the network working properly yesterday, at long last. We will need a new GPS antenna, but for now, the internal ones on the displays will suffice. So barring another disaster, we’re taking the boat out on Sunday for a little trip around the bay!
But today, I have the grands again. Speaking of whom - a certain RoxStar has been dropping F-bombs. I know she gets that from her dad and I’ll mention it to him when he drops off Tobias this morning. It was bad enough when she was on a “poo-poo” kick and I mostly got her to stop saying that all the time. She has no idea what she’s saying - it’s just funny to her. But I’m pretty sure her teachers and the parents of her classmates won’t appreciate little f-bombs… sheesh
Anyway, Happy Firday!!!
Morning all. Up at 6:30am again, so sometime in the next few days I’m due a nap. Swimmin’ is on the agenda but not much else as it is 80F at 7:30am and heading for 97F. Will turn on the water for a half hour to wash up and refill the toilet tanks, then back to dry conditions.
FCM, I remember my parents telling me my first word was “rats” which my Mom used instead of stronger language (hey, it was the early 1950’s). Kids will pick things up fast and hopefully Roxy will learn that’s a word you don’t use in public.
nellie, can’t imagine working out 1100 calories worth; just doing my bicycling has the sweat pouring out of me by the time I’ve finished. Does that count all the walking you do?
Sari, hope Ripple gets his groove back soon, but if it keeps up I’d have him looked at just to be safe.
Ok, pills taken and paper rescued, so all is right with the world. Except my water leak…
Take care all.
