Happy birthday, Bob, BTW, there's a helicopter in your yard... This week's MMP

My morning has been fairly peaceful so far. It’s been nice. It’s rare that I get a quiet morning anymore.

I remember that story too, Bobbio.

I’m glad to see you pop in, Shadow. It’s been ages.

I think I’m going to work on cleaning up my back patio area today. It would be nice to sit outside and enjoy it, ya know?

It’s actually a little cooler out today. The heat index is only around 103 as opposed to around 110. I may have to take a sweater with me next time I go outside.

It is hawt here in CA today also…urgh I am staying in the AC. Although I am going a little stir crazy working from home. I miss the daily interaction with people.

My condolences bobbio

Oh, I see how it is.

It’s boys night out and I’m not invited. :frowning:

I’ve been productive. I’ve weeded two and three quarters flower beds, edged the patio and pulled out the lawn that was trying to grow over the edge of it, and picked up a lot of stuff out there.

Next, I plan to finish the third bed, sweep off and hose down the back patio, collapse and stow the kennel, wash the dog houses and put them somewhere else in the yard, and finish stowing other stuff in the back yard.

I think that’ll be it today. I only stopped for the moment because I had managed to step in dog poo. Not a good thing when you’re wearing flip flops. So, cleaned my flip flops and feet off and came in for a water break.

**BBBobbio **- how sad about your cohort! I can’t imagine the personal demons that lead to suicide.

**Misnomer **- first off, you need a shorter nickname. Secondly, you’re close enough, sorta, to me that we should plan a mini-Mumpfest! Do you like to sail?

It’s too freekin’ hot out again. No more summer!! So let it be written, so let it be done!

That’s all I’ve got for now.

Thats a different night. We can always [del]ax murder[/del] meet you another time.

Hot dawgs and N.O.T. chips make a pretty good dindin. Oh and we did have onions and relish so we had veggies which makes it all healthy.

I agree that Misnomer needs a shorter name. I was thinking MN (because I lack imagination and am attached to two-letter nicknames, apparently) and that led me to LMNOP. (Hey! It’s better than Minnesota, which would, you know, be longer…)

For someone who’s on vacation, I’m not having the best day ever.

I wound up lounging till 2ish (see: previously mentioned lack of sleep), then finished removing caulk and cleaned the heck out of the tub and surround (that’s the OK part of my day).

I was just going out to run errands when my cousin called and needed me to do some stuff that turned out to eat 2 hours of my life. Arghhhhhhh.

And, just as I finished reading swampy’s post above, I realized that I hadn’t had lunch or dinner. So, I’ve had some clam chowder and crackers and am now slightly less annoyed.

So, now I need to go run those errands, then I get to caulk the tub, finish laundry and clean the fridge. Anyone wanna come over and help?

I didn’t think so. :stuck_out_tongue:

Hugs anyway…

My son was nice enough to purchase steaks and bring them home for us to cook. He received a fifteen dollar gift card from Safeway (his employer) for some safety something or other.

He decided to use it to treat us to steaks. Between his employee discount and our club card discount the steaks cost him four bucks.

I’ve got a good son!

Anyway, dinner has been eaten and I finally got my damn internet back. It conked out on me for some stupid reason and after resetting the modem and router three times, and then restarting my computer just for the hell of it, I finally got my connection back.

Sounds like your computer set-up is related to my computer set-up, Taters. All of a sudden it takes multiple re-sets for everything to work again.

Have been to grocery and Home Despot and am now going to go caulk. Woo hoo.

Hugs.

We had so-so lemon pepper catfish filets, corn on the cob and tossed salad. The catfish was dry on top. :frowning:

Swampy - you alreaday had a veggie with the N.O.T chips…

It’s after 9:00 and still nasty humid and hot! I took the doggies out for a walk anyway. I found somebody’s ID card on the sidewalk and I’ve addressed an envelope and plan to mail it tomorrow. (It wasn’t from this neighborhood - it was from across town!)

Beddy-bye soon…

now all it needs is someone to make a .gif of a melting kitteh face á la Raiders of the Lost Ark

I worked, I bought beer and dog food
(two of the 3 most important things in likfe), it’s still 84 at 11pm

Don’t be mad, Sticky, let’s bury the hatchet. I will be there all week.

Sympathies and prayers to both BBBBBobbio and Nava, thinking of you and your families (the EMS family in Bobbio’s case).

Oh very cute kitteh, Shadow! And it sounds like she’s made herself right at home with you.

And finally, it’s three down, two to go … YAY!

Hee, rosie.

Tired. I’m giving up for the night and gonna get up really early to finish off the minimum things I need to do before friends get here. I’m in pretty good shape, I think.

But I’m tired and hoping to be sleepy enough to actually sleep for a bit.

Nitey nite, all…

Is that homemade clam chowder? I’ll caulk for clam chowder! But not if it comes in a can. The clam chowders in a can I’ve tried were all on the bad side of yuck :frowning:

The client uses OO as part of the official setup; they’ve tweaked it somewhat, with the result that the colors that come up by default in any “list of colors you can make an object” is their corporate scheme (evidently created by someone with a fetish for dark red and middling gray) and also that it doesn’t open properly. Since the version that had been installed was 3.1, I installed 3.2.1 on top (the color scheme stayed, the opening issued got fixed). For the last two days, it’s been trying to update itself to the new corporate version (3.2.0) and, for some reason, failing. That would be fine with me if the setup program was smart enough to say “oh gee this one has a newer version, ok, nothing to install, bye!” but no, it keeps trying.

Cute kitteh, Shadow, looks like a very well-adjusted mog!

It was pub night yesterday and the beerverage of choice was Bumblehole which is brewed locally at the Olde Swan in Netherton, and is named after a local nature reserve. The Olde Swan pub is known to most as Ma Pardoe’s after Doris Pardoe, a landlady who ran the place for many years until her death at the age of 85.

Late night, early morning. I am so glad I have nothing in particular to do tonight except go to bed early!

I wasn’t mad, honest! I just forgot the  at the end of my post. So, let’s not *bury the hatchet *and say we did. :stuck_out_tongue:

We’ll just plan to [del]axe murder[/del] meet with kopek on Monday and if you’ve already made it to town, then we’ll [del]axe murder[/del] meet with you, too.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’.

Rebo I know the N.O.T. chips count as a veggie but I was pointin’ out that we also had a green veggie. We’re all health conscious like that at Chez Swamp.

Tonight we are usin’ my bday certificate at the local good seafood place. So no cookin’ for da bear! YAY! Of course now I have to decide what I’m gettin’ so there’s the stress of all that. Why must life be so hard!

StickyBuns, Doggio and Ruble sounds like y’all have a plan to [del]axe murder[/del] meet each other next week!
