Happy birthday, Bob, BTW, there's a helicopter in your yard... This week's MMP

I brought homemade basil pesto and buns for everyone! Enjoy!

Meeks! Good to see you! Sorry to hear about your mom.

Missy, I’m sorry to hear about your friend.

We had a company-wide picnic today. The food was so-so, and being outside socializing with coworkers… well, I was pretty happy when we got an email saying there was a file from a vendor that needed to be taken care of immediately. It was fun watching the CEO and various VPs get dunked in a dunk tank though.

But other than the vendor file, I so haven’t been into doing work after coming back inside! I think I may take off in the next 15 minutes (i.e. 15 min early). Woo.

Catfish filets, fried okra, cheese grits and hushpuppies with an appetizer of fried dill pickles. The dill pickles were shared. I have a feelin’ tummy will stage an uprisin’ in a while but that’s all good cause it was soooooooooo good! URP!

We bought a replacement battery for the van, then went to Salsa’s for supper. While we were there, the skies opened. As we drove home, the rain stopped, but it’s started again. From the looks of radar, we’ve got a fair bit of rain headed this way.

I intend to go to bed early. I’s tahred!! I don’t think I got 5 hours of sleep last night. So in a few minutes, I’ll knit in front of Jon Stewart, then head for the sheets. Maybe with the help of some melatonin…

Rough weather inbound…

Home, and it’s about to storm.

Meeks!!!
: bounce around like a Lab on speed :

Sorry bout your mom.:frowning:

and sorry about you friend, Missy

Looks like I’m not in that picture.

That’s because you’re lurking around the corner.

Productive day today - I held two very good interviews which makes a change as my success rate has not been so good with these.

Supper is chicken with tomatoes and artichoke hearts in a combination that I haven’t figured out yet along with salad and famers market corn. I’s Hungry as is mr ems who is hanging round looking like he is about to waste away so I had better go cook!

Just because I don’t get to share this link too often

That picture is from this coming Sunday – I have you down for next Wednesday. Unless we decide to get a head start on everyone Tuesday. I know a bar in Dormont called Slap Shots and I admit with shame I’ve never been in it.

Has anyone else noticed that Mumpers tend to plan to [del]axe murder[/del] meet each other with lots of water around [del]to hide the bodies in[/del] to set the mood? Just me? OK – well then just carry on.

Sounds good.

I find myself using the phrase “There can be only one!” a lot at Dopefests, too.

I should be in bed sleeping right now.

BTW, kopek, I’m not holding out on you about next week, it’s just that I’m still waiting for TVMan to give me the coordinates to the top secret location. That should happen tomorrow. Or, rather, later today since it’s after midnight.

OMG! I just said that to Smokey!

Morning all! I’m so glad it’s Friday at last, these 5-day working weeks are just too much.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’.

Today holds lots of excitement. First, OYKW is off work today and has an eye appointment at 10:45 to get sump’n done about his contacts. He says I don’t need to go as apparently this is to make sure the prescription is right or sump’n like that. So fine. I plan on cookin’ a big breakfast in a while to tide us over until an early dindin of burly butcher bacon cheeseburgers. After that, I get my final bday goody, my free DQ Blizzard. YAY! By tradition (we started it there years ago so it is to a tradition!) bday Blizzard is always the last of the bday treats on each of our birthdays. In between all that there needs to be pool time and some prep for tomorrow’s dindin bein’ as folks are comin’ over and expect to eat. I foresee a menu of grilled pork tenderloin, steamed cabbage, hominy casserole (don’t yuck it’s good!), rolls and lemon icebox pie. Plus I found out OYKW has promised martinis so a part of his chores today is to go buy blue cheese stuffed olives, which are a must!

Happy Firday Y’all!

Well then, I’m awake and feeling… crappy! But, there’s no one to blame but myself, now is there?

Oh well. Today I’m going to open up the fork factory and straighten up the house a bit before heading off to TVLand.

Sorry about your friend, Missy.

Pesto…yum. But where’s the pie? You were supposed to bring pie, too! And chocolate, of course.

Sorry for those of you who didn’t sleep so well. That’s normally me, but I actually slept really well and nearly 8 hours for a change! Yay!

Good morning all. Gonna be a busy day: Staples for forgotten electronics, Barnes and Noble to look at books, the Ohio State Fair for a slice of Ohioana (should be fun; I haven’t been there in 20 years or so), then the OSU campus, then ???, then to a play in the park. I’m sure there will be food sprinkled in throughout.

Off to do stuff…

GT

Oh, it’s my own fault that I didn’t sleep well. I recently ran into an old friend on facebook. He and his girlfriend are goat farmers. I was up half the night chatting about goats, religion, music, and runaway mules.

The fork factory may not open after all. I’ve spent the morning sorting my mom’s paperwork and now I’m moving onto some of my own.

gt is the Ohio State Fair a food on a stick fest? I lurves me some food on a stick!

I cooked brekkie. Bacon, aigs, grits and toast. Then I made the lemon icebox pie for tomorrow. Also I assembled the hominy casserole (quit yuckin’ it’s good!) and chopped up cabbage to steam. Oh and I remembered to take the pork tenderloins out of the freezer to thaw cause pork tenderloinsicles don’t sound good. I’ve been a busy bear! I’m proud of the pie. The meringue is so purty church ladies would swoon over it!

OYKW is at his eye appointment. Afterwards he’s supposed to go get olives and because he thinks three-fourths of a bottle of gin is not enough, to get another bottle of gin. I suppose one can never have too much gin on hand.

Up, and caffeinated, off to work. It’s the no sales tax weekend for school supplies and clothes. : rocks back and forth and cries : I dropped Nelly and Gordie off for their vacation at the vet.

swampy, is it fried food a on stick, cause that’s what the N.C. State is, that and watching the pre-bacon race.
