Happy birthday, Bob, BTW, there's a helicopter in your yard... This week's MMP

I understand entirely - that’s why you got the phone just in case. My wife just called me at lunch and informed me we’re going to Kennywood and I need to pick her up at work. Bless their little hearts for such advanced warning.

BBBobbio I knew I could count on you for a <snerk>

doggio food on a stick is generally fried and stuck on a stick. The best state fair foods are always fried stuff on a stick. Pre-bacon race. HEE!

Thanks for all of the friend-related sympathy, everyone!

I’m having a pretty good day so far, but I’m looking forward to leaving work around 4pm and taking Bailey to the dog park for a little while, then heading home to shower and change before I go to my “micro gig” tonight. I’m psyched about performing, even if it’s just two songs…this is what it’s all about!

I listed a bunch of stuff on Craigslist the other day, and tomorrow I’m meeting a guy at the Starbucks near my house to sell him my unopened Windows 7 upgrade software. (Fingers crossed that he shows up and all goes well.) I was dumb enough to order it before making sure that my then-laptop could support the upgrade, but luckily I was smart enough to check before I opened it! I’m also selling the aforementioned laptop, and have gotten a few emails about it, but only one that seemed kosher enough to warrant a reply. That person, of course, has since fallen off the face of the earth. And I’ve had no takers for my other items. Sigh.

Anyone want to buy a laptop, an external DVD burner, a pair of diamond earrings, or a white noise machine?

If October isn’t too cold, that would be better for me…but yes, let’s definitely figure something out.

Wait, after Jon Stewart is early for you??

I used to regularly stay up until midnight or 1am: one of the things that makes me feel old is how early I go to bed these days. Now I like to be headed upstairs around 10:00-10:30, and I might read for an hour or so but sometimes I don’t. The nights when I go upstairs at 10 and don’t read make me feel ancient. :frowning:

LOL! I’m really glad that I didn’t need any of those translations during my hovercraft trip.

You talk to my dead cat?!?

I’m not sure what that is, but anything that starts with “lemon” and ends with “pie” sounds good to me!

My ex went to OSU, and during the three college football seasons that we were together I rooted for the Buckeyes (my own college did not have a football team). I learned all of the songs and everything. It’s the only thing I miss about that relationship. grin

I have pesto too, but no pie. I bought a huge bunch of basil at the farmers’ market last weekend and turned it in to pesto, which I put in the freezer for later. I used some on two of our homegrown tomatoes yesterday with some fresh mozzarella. Sooooooooo good!

I’m only 31 and I go to bed before 10. But I also get up before 6 every morning.

I’m waiting for 3 jobs to finish running so I can hopefully leave work early, go to the grocery store to do the week’s shopping, and then get out and enjoy the beautiful weather we’re having. I could take another month of these 80-degree days and low-60-degree nights. It’s gorgeous! Unfortunately, it’s going to get humid starting tomorrow. Blah. So I need to get out and enjoy today!

Happy weekend everyone!

Missy for your enlightenment, lemon icebox pie. I’m not for real sure but I think it may be more of a southern thang.

Gonna go light up the grill shortly. Burly butcher bacon cheeseburgers for an early dindin. YUM!

I should have specified that it was the 7:00 rerun the day after. My usual bedtime is between 9 and 9:30 since we get up around 5. At my age, I need all the beauty sleep I can get…

We had a lot of good rain last night, and this weekend is supposed to be relatively cool - mid 80s both days, so yay!

I’m thinking PapaJohn needs to make supper tonight. Daughter is coming home, but not till late. Tonight is for chillin’ - chores can come later.

Like key lime pie only with lemons?? I’m in!

Oooooh. That’s probably one of those things that regular MMPers would know. :o

OK, PapaJohn is pissing me off. I placed an on-line order but didn’t get a confirmation email, so I called. The girl on the phone said they didn’t get the order. Fine. Resubmitted. Still no email. And 2 holds on my card. We are not amused!!!

Missy, I’ve not said anything since you’re new here, but every Mumper is required to know all the minute details of my life and keep track of them. I’ve cut yo slack up to this point, but you need to get on the stick. Take notes if you have to.

By the way: TGIF!!!

Pizza is being ingested. PapaJohn is forgiven. That is all.

Burgers et, Blizzard gotten and et. Bear happy.

λәλ ?

Well done, **Poly **- I literally laughed aloud!

I’ve got a recipe for hominy casserole too. I’ve also got a recipe for toomany casserole. For when you’ve been making too many casseroles.
So, what’s your recipe?

at last, it’s the weekend. I am going to a Ducks game tomorrow evening, after which there will be a fireworks presentation. The heck with the game. I wanna see the sparklies!

Wow! It really is old home week around here! ** Bumba**! It’s good to see you!

I have done a whole lot of nothing today. I now need to get my butt in gear. Hubby still isn’t home from work. He left for work around 4:00 this morning. He’s not going to be in a very good mood, I think.

I think I’ll try to have dinner ready for him as close as possible to when he gets home tonight.

I have declared today to be ‘Quit Work Early Day’ in Casa de ems.

I have my feet up with a beer and mr ems is vacuuming the house. Man I trained him good…:stuck_out_tongue:

Actually he is fascinated with the new Dyson vacuum we have and if it means he vacuums even better.

Happy Weekend!

Bumbalicious!!! How the heck ya been, dude??

I’m trying to learn how to do a turk’s head braid for our boat’s wheel. I’ve watched a couple of you tube videos and looked in my Ashley’s book of knots. I am very close to getting stabby… Maybe tomorrow when I’m better rested.

this is not an original anyrose creation. It was seen on an acquaintance’s t-shirt, which he’d bought at I-CON, the Long Island based SF Con, and it needed to be shared

Howdy Bumba I’ll dig it out and post the recipe. It’s a really good one. I don’t think it’s in the recipe blog but I’ll check.

Squeeeeeeeeeee! (of the human variety)
