Not being Canadian, I still have a great fondness for Canada Day – I met my hubby at a Canada Day party ten years ago. It happened to be in California, but it was hosted by real live Canadians and everything. So happy Canada Day to everyone!
But I’d say poutine and beer might not be the best combination, not if you plan to be around people tomorrow.

Every Canadian ex-pat in Sydney must have been at the Victoria Cross bar in North Sydney last night celebrating 1 July. I’ve never seen so many Canadian flags.
I had Canadian jello. Or rather, white and red jello made to look like the Canadian flag. If someone would tell me how to put pictures on the internet for free, I would put up a picture of it.
I ended my Canada Day evening in the park with Great Big Sea and fireworks. Gorgeous evening, and have to love Great Big Sea.

And just for the record, I’m not Canadian. I’m not completely sure why we had it, but my dad kept saying that because my mom made it, she was seriously considering moving there. (My dad wants to get out of the states)
