I invited a friend to distance drink, but she has errands to run and I already started so I’m not sure I’ll last until she gets here.

I honestly can’t complain too much about 2020. I don’t know anyone who contracted Covid, and our restrictions in Qld were very short-lived. I managed an overseas holiday in March, just getting home in the nick of time before the virus exploded. Started a new job (working from home, which I’ve done for 11 years now anyway) so no loss of income, actually an INCREASE. 
Currently on a summer holiday staying in a virtually empty backpacker’s hostel with the Great Barrier Reef out one window, and primeval rainforest out the other.
In other words, I personally have lived through 2020 pretty well, but my heart goes out to those who have suffered, whether through ill health, loss of income, or other associated disasters.

Happy New Year from Colorado (mountain time) at 10 minutes into 2021. The eggnog has been flowing all day, and the champagne is now being finished. We have kicked 2020 to the curb, and it will not be missed. May your future days be better, and in good health. May the snark and wit flow freely here in the SDMB, and may we find answers that are factual, fun, and enlightening.
