**FCD **willl be leaving in the wee dark hours - I bet he’ll be on the road before 5. Can’t wait to have him home again. I’m even going to bathe Higgs tomorrow so she’ll be clean for her daddy. Because I’m nice, dammit!
Lunch was actually tasty: turkey, ham, stuffing, green beans, mashed yams.
I swear to Ceiling Cat they’ve got the environmentals set to 75F or higher. I am right next to the heating vent, and when the overhead lights are on, I’m expecting a pop up timer to go “ding”
I must really love the sprog. I’m in line at 5 am to buy some video games that he really wants. The first person who holds the line up by asking a million retarded questions is going to die by pitchforks and torches.
It’s dark and chilly outside, according to my phone it will be cloudy with a high of 55.
Today is pick up groceries day.
I hope I am less grumpy today than I was yesterday.
I cussed both the cat and the dog. The dog has this annoying habit of asking to go out, then he stands at the open door trying to decide if he really wants to go out. Look butt head, if you want to go out then go out because I’m not going to stand here all damn day while you try to make up your mind. You wanted to go out, now get your ass out. Of course the dog doesn’t hear me, but the cat … he has this thing he does where he walks in front of me and stops suddenly, then he gets pissed at me for stepping on his foot or tail. Well dumb ass, keep moving and I won’t step on you. Better yet, don’t walk in front of me because you walk too damn slow.
I wonder how he is going to take being home all by himself all day tomorrow. I’d take him with us but, after the way he reacted to the vet ride, I’m afraid he’ll make a mess in the truck.
Years ago a friend of mine had a cat loved to ride in the car, he went everywhere with her. She never needed a leash, he stayed close to her and when it was time to go home he’d jump in the car. She never had to chase him, or force him.
I almost finished Christmas shopping yesterday. Sorry Ruble, but you didn’t say a word about western MD.
I hope the sprog appreciates your sacrifice Rockin’ I’ve never done a BF.
Unpleasant night. Something I ate yesterday (mac-n-cheese? Punkin pie filling? Shrimps? Tin roof sundae?) had me running to the potty several times during the night. Then I woke at 4:30 and started thinking about what I have to do today. So I’m up stupid early on a non-office day. grrrrrrrr
Higgs has been fed, as have I. I’m caffeinating. Shortly, I will start dragging laundry downstairs and try to get a few loads on the lines today. I’ve also got to empty the dishwasher, then start refilling it, vacuum, bathe Higgs, and generally tidy up. No big jobs but lots of little, annoying ones. I need to let the pellet stove burn out so I can empty the ashes. Luckily, it’s going to be relatively mild today and we won’t freeze when the fire goes out. Well, that, and we have an oil furnace as central heating.
Lots to do before my sweetie gets home. Happy Firday!!
I haven’t done a BF in a few years, when I went with my brother and sister-in-law to look for a new TV for their house. I do most of my shopping online, and we’re not big on intra-family gift-giving, at least not the extravagant kind. But these games are very popular and we had a deal that he could have them now, but he’s getting socks and underwear next month. He’s fine with that, so I didn’t want to disappoint him if the games sold out.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN OK, been up a while but still caffeinatin’. ‘Tis 53 Amurrkin out and very, very, very, foggy with a predicted high of 80 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. In Ye Olde Hometowne, ‘tis 49 Amurrkin and cloudy with a predicted high of 76 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. OYKW left shortly after six this mornin’. He called to tell me he was in fog until just after he crossed the stateline into Alabammy. I’m really wantin’ the fog to clear out before I take off. I an in no hurry to get to Ye Olde Hometowne so maybe it will.
Rockin’ you’re a good mom. Don’t forget to hold over the sprog’s head the fact that you got up early and stood in lines for hours so he could have those video games. You could easily get several years of guilt out of this.
OK, I suppose I should feed rumbly tummy and then purtify. Y’all may or may not hear from me whilst I’m gone.
Two loads of laundry are hanging on the lines and the last load for today is in the washer. **FCD **called - he was just north of Brunswick, GA, having left Ocala shortly before 5. With luck, he’ll be home by 6 this evening. Fingers crossed.
I’m showered and dressed - it’s amazing how a shower makes one feel human! I’m thinking when I get the last load hung out, I may have earned a donut. Ya think??
