Looking very much forward to it, but as in years past, will wait for about three weeks after it has opened so I can go to a theater matinee and see it with a crowd of just about 10 other people.
I just watched the trailers again…I can’t wait!!! It’s tomorrow!! (or tonight, for some of you lucky people!)

A co-worker told me about the first item on your list. Considering it hasn’t come up again in subsequent books, I think it was okay to cut.
I have to take my daughters this coming week. Even without seeing the newest installment, Kyle Smith seemed to sum up my past HP experiences and expectations quite well:
Gee-don’t strain yourself, there, John. Maybe somebody else could take your daughters. If your daughters are excited about it-can’t you just enjoy their excitement?
I would say that the “sporting contest” is very pertinent to plot and series in this particular movie.
Need to at least rest this evening. I have been doing yard work and am already tired!
Just wanted to thank everyone for the recommendations re: see the movie first/read the book first. Guess I’m not surprised that reading first was the preferred option!
Advice noted, and I’ll pick up a used copy of GOF to read before checking out the film. The trailers look very very cool, though, which makes it harder to wait…!
Wooohooooooo!!! I watched it last night and it was definitely worth the 45-minute wait and the really long line. Okay, highlights (for me and my friend) of the movie:
The Quidditch World Cup: It was really short, but it was amazingly breathtaking.
The Yule Ball: My friend fell in love with Cedric Diggory. The Yule Ball was absolutely cool and different from anything we’d seen in the previous movies.
The 3 tasks: Especially the dragon one because I love dragons and I love it when Harry flies around on his broom.
Mad-Eye Moody: Brendan Gleeson portrayed him just as the way I’d imagined him.
Harry Potter shirtless. Need I say more?
Voldemort and the graveyard scene: It was played out the way it’s described in the book and I thought they did an amazing job of it.
Cedric’s death: I cried. End of story.
Overall, it was amazing fun. It was really funny, too. Fred and George were hilarious as usual. They’re two of my favourite characters. I’d love to watch it again!
I am soooo excited, but I have to wait until my Dad comes into town. Every year we watch a movie together, the LOTR, The Star Wars and now, Harry Potter.
The only bad thing is…I have to wait until her in here in December, but at least I get to see it on Imax.
Trust me, it’ll be worth the wait.
