So if the official release date is July 15, then that means that today, June 3, marks six weeks until the movie comes out!
C’mon, already! I was ready last summer!
Snape swears a mysterious oath to Draco’s mother and aunt, a new Potions teacher comes to Hogwarts, Harry’s relationship with Ginny gets going, there are mysterious acts of violence at Hogwarts, Ron discovers girls (while Hermione’s heart is breaking), Draco disappears for mysterious purposes, and there is an evil confrontation at the end of the school year.
Please remember, folks, that even though the book has been out for several years, there are people who have not read the book, and the movie may well be different, so PLEASE be alert to spoilers and don’t ruin anyone else’s enjoyment.
Sorry to anyone who didn’t know about Harry getting naked and blinding horses. (At least I didn’t mention that it’s all revealed to be an autistic kid’s dream while looking at a snowglobe.)
I’m guessing the only reason he ran for president was to stop their whining about wanting to visit the set. (It’d be cool if Obama did a cameo while there- maybe as Amycus Carrow or even just “3rd Death Eater from the left”.)
One of the kids I teach got a “Make a Wish” thing back when they were filming the movie, so they flew him out and he got to meet all the main cast(kids and adults).
He even got to see them film a scene with Harry, Hermione, and Ron, and then chat with them about it afterward.
Of course I’m re-reading the book – if I read at least 23 pages a day, I’ll finish by Friday, July 17th, when I’m going to go see it. (Draco has just discovered the invisible Harry hiding on the train and has broken his nose. Ouch!)
I wonder if we will get to see the (Muggle) Prime Minister in the movie. Blair would have been PM at this period – maybe they get Michael Sheen to play him!
Yeah, whatever. I’m assuming we’ll see Snape’s house. (Let’s play “But They CAN’T Cut THAT Scene!”)
I wonder if I should pre-order a ticket through Fandango?
Do they sell them this far in advance? Because it wouldn’t be a bad idea.
As for Snape’s house, you can definitely see the unbreakable vow spell in the movie trailer (you only see the hands clasped, not the surroundings), so I’m guessing it’s there. And the Dursleys are present and they’re not nearly as important as the scene at Snape’s house.
We discussed this when the book came out. On Fudge’s first visit to the PM (on the day of his installation), he spoke of the PM’s predecessor as a male.
Didn’t we briefly meet a vampire in the book? I wonder if he’ll be in the movie. They could show him in the corner putting on spray glitter (he’s at a Christmas party, after all) and have someone walk by and say, “Stop being ridiculous!” That’d be funny.
