I don’t know how well the chapter about the Muggle Prime Minister would film (too much backstory) but damn if that wasn’t one of my favorite chapters in all the books. I’d love to see it in the movie.
Knowing him, he’d just hang out with the Quidditch team, shooting quaffles.
I have to admit the delay really ended up taking away some of the hype. I hardly even care now. I hope participating in this thread will take away some of the boredom…
Two weeks to go!
Probably about four until I see it. Let the initial crowds thin out a bit and then see a weekday matinee.
I’m waiting till the weekend (7/18-19) to see it. My friend and I are going to Mann’s Chinese to see the matinee. I saw the last one at the Chinese also, but this time I won’t have to go alone. This is the friend who goes to conventions with me when she can afford it, and doesn’t make fun of me for being a geek. I need more friends like her.
It’s very tempting to go to the first showing at 9:30 am but we’re holding out for the IMAX screen at 5:30 so hubby can join us after work. Saw the last one on the BIG screen and it was cool.
Maybe we’ll do both and not tell him
Michael Jackson, is dat you?
Nope and now it’s 5 11 year olds… To the midnight showing no less. I must be crazy.
I am (finally) starting to get excited about this. I was all excited last year and they pulled the plug on it. I’m still irked by that. I plan on reading book 6 starting tomorrow (I will finish it before Tuesday night) and #2 son and I are doing an HP marathon tonight and tomorrow.
Anyone else “getting ready”?
I think I need to remember to take Kleenex to this one.
i am re reading the books, (on number 5 now) and watched movies 2-5.
abc family is having a marathon today, ending with goblet of fire and having previews and interviews during the movies.
This is the first movie I haven’t seen midnight showing since I started that little “trend” on the third movie.
I miss my friends:(
We have two local theaters (not convenient, but technically local) advertising the “IMAX 3D” version. Has anybody heard about this? Is it really in 3D or are they just the special IMAX screens?
I admit, I can’;t wait. The last two movies I’ve only seen in broken pieces due to Celtling care. But this time she;ll be at school and I’ll be at the theater. I’m so psyched!
Scenes I’d like to see: Would they fercrissakes show us Peeves already?
I’m going to see it in about 5 hours
On free tickets what’s more.
Lucky you!
I’m halfway through the book and should finish it tonight. I haven’t seen any interviews or anything about it except the preview.
We are going to see it on Saturday. 3:45. hee hee hee…
Reread the book, just because. It’s gonna be
Regards,
Shodan
Make sure it is the real IMAX, not that fake IMAX they used for Star Trek. If the screen is not a few stories high, it’s not IMAX and don’t pay for it.
Does it open earlier there?
Ah, of course, time zones, all that.
If anybody stays through the end of the credits, could you please let us know (with spoilers) if there’s an “after the credits” blip? (It’s annoying sitting 10 minutes while all the third unit grips and assistant to the driver of the caterer credits go by and then there’s nothing, but at the same point I hate to miss it, and with previous HPs they’ve had blips in a couple and nada in a couple.)
I’d’ve liked to have seen Peeves during Fred and George’s exit from Hogwarts in Order of the Phoenix. Great scene.
I’m excited. I’ll be there at midnight!
there are some theatres that are having hp marathons. check on the leaky cauldron, they could be near you.
there aren’t any in mid/eastern pa but pittsburgh has a theatre showing the marathon.
