Has anyone read Jennifer Government yet? What did you think? Possible spoilers.

I just got done reading it a few minutes ago. It wasn’t the instant classic I thought it would be and it didn’t really even try to be funny (everyone kept comparing it to Catch-22, which I thought was hilarious), but I liked it.

What do you guys think?
I hear they’re making a movie. Who do you think should play who?
So far the most solid ring-in IMO is John Leguizamo as the Pepsi kid. I know he’s probably a little too old but he just seems perfect for the part to me.

Reese Witherspoon could definately play Violet with the right direction (almost reprising her role in Election.)

Shooter McGavin should play John Nike. It took me awhile to figure out a good John Nike but I think McGavin would be perfect.

I think Scott Caan would be absolutely perfect as Billy NRA. I’ll be really upset if he doesn’t get this part.

That’s all I could think of. One of the problems with this book is that it had so many “main” characters that you really didn’t get to know any of them too well so I still don’t know who would make a good Hack, Buy, Claire, or Calvin. Any ideas?

Apparently George Clooney is associated with the project in some fashion.

I don’t think he’s set to be in the film though. As far as I know it’s just his production company that is making it.

Is there a role you think he could play? I like Clooney.

Wait a minute … there’s a book called Jennifer Government ?!

What’s the sequel going to be called? Jennifer First Year Biochem ?

Yes tracer. There’s even an online government simulation based [loosely] on the book [url"http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi"]here
The book is based sometime in the near future when people take the last name of the company they work for and the police and the NRA are publicly traded security firms.

Jennifer works for the government hence Jennifer Government.
