I wonder not how those people believe the ‘left’ is lying, but why they believe the MAGA right is not. Perhaps it’s tied to religion.
I actually had a conversation with one this past Monday. We had a Labor Day car show in a park in my suburb, so a couple of my girl friends and I went to see some totally rad cars and have a dog. Some guy in his twenties walks up to me and starts giving me this spiel about some candidate for Congress and how I should vote for him.
Me: “Is he a Republican?”
Him: “Yes.”
Me: “I go to the polls to slaughter Republicans.”
He then hurries to tell me that this guy is really a good guy, and the democratic incumbent is some kind of … well, for lack of a better description, a TRUMP.
Me: “Your party has a horrible image. It is the party whose leader is a megalomaniacal narcissist, insurrectionist, and traitor. It is the party that wants to re-enslave women to the reproductive process, which means you are the party that wants to re-enslave ME.”
Him (red and flustered): “But this guy is different!”
Me: “No, he’s not. He’s not because, for the four years of Trump, they ALL voted together to support him every single time. Even after his attempt to overthrow our democracy and was yet again impeached, they ALL voted to let him off the hook yet again. This guy would be no different. Now, get lost!!”
Yeah, I know, but I can really have a mouth on me when I get revved up. LOL

I don’t think I know anyone that thinks that Trump is actually secretly the president, but I know quite a few people who think that he should be. That the election was stolen and that Biden is a senile mastermind who is completely ineffective and has a dastardly plan that will turn this country into a Marxist hellhole.
This seems to be part of their dastardly plan to make our collective heads explode.
My kooky neighbor got a new flag for the front of his house. It says, “Trump Won The Democrats Cheated”.
I don’t know if he really believes this, or anything else he might believe. I don’t talk to him.
But I like that idiots like him fly flags and put up signs, plaster their cars with stickers so you can identify The Crazy and avoid it.
It’s tough to say. For a while, I was convinced nobody really believed Obama was born in Kenya, they just said he was to own the libs and cause distractions, but lately I’ve started to wonder. My mother actually believes the narrative that Biden won because of widespread election fraud. He’s not lying to me when she says it. I’ve just got to accept that a lot of Americans aren’t trying to own the libs they actually believe the lies. They drank the Flavor-Aid and they’re asking for more.
I am keeping this for when the situation arises for me!
One of my bicycling buddies is a MAGA Republican, and has gradually drifted further into the abyss. I have had to put him at arm’s length recently (OK, maybe juuust a bit more than arm’s length).
Oh, that’s beautiful, because that is exactly what a lot of those lost souls are willing to do!
One of the kooky neighbors near me finally replaced his worn-out Trump 2020 flag with one that says “TRUMP 2024: Take America Back”. Is it just me, or does that sound a bit aggressive?
Someone in my neighborhood who lives on a corner was proudly flying a “TRUMP 2020: Make the Liberals Cry Again” flag on the front of his house (as @Gatopescado mentions, making it easy to identify the idiots). The flag eventually came down some time after the Biden/Harris inauguration, but if I lived across the street from him I would have loved to fly this flag in front of my house:
I know quite a few Trump supporters. Ones who get riled up by Foxnews. Only one that’s a full blown Quidiot. He made a bet with someone that Trump would win the election and be inaugurated president. He made the bet long after Election Day when Biden won. He did actually pay up when Biden was inaugurated. Somehow he believes simultaneously that Biden cheated and Trump lost because of fraud and that Trump is the actual president who is controlling the government in secret. He can’t see that both can not be true.
I hear they have poor hygiene, and pick their noses in public.

Met one (presumably) in Chicago last week. Or rather, ran into one on a street corner. While waiting in a group for the crosswalk light across from Trump Tower to turn green for pedestrian crossing, a middle-aged gentleman was having his wife photograph him giving the finger to the tower. A voice in the group, clearly annoyed, called out “Go Trump!”. My husband called back “And take your kids with you!”. The crowd laughed. The light changed and we crossed.
So, yeah, one doofus tRump supporter in Chicago last weekend.

Yeah, one of my cousins is one of them. It would be hilarious, if three conditions were in place- not part of my family, barred from voting, and most of all, an isolated nut. But none of those are in place, so it disturbs me greatly. It’s absolute craziness- the stuff she posts on her Facebook page doesn’t bear much if any resemblance to reality. She’s not quite at the “JFK is going to return to Dealey Plaza” sort of crazy, but barely.
