Have you ever ID'd another Doper?

Podcaster/musician/skeptic/etc George Hrab makes it known that he’ll respond to the word “vibraphone” if approached.

I was at JazzFest two years ago and ran into George’s twin. I walked up, smiling, and said, “vibraphone”. Dude had no idea what the fuck I was up to. I hastily explained.

Pardon my cluelessness. I must be missing something (not helped by my zero knowledge of German).

I ran it through Google Translate and it came up with “Charwoman,” a word I never even knew existed that is apparently an archaic English word for … Cleaning Lady.

(To be precise, she is our faxineira.)

One doper posted something that made me realize we knew some of the same people, so I figured out who he is IRL.

We could rip off AA and ask “Are you a friend of Cecil?”

One Doper mentioned she was an expert in a particular field and had recently been on the radio about it, so that was enough info for me to track that clip down to listen to it. That’s about all.

Cleaning woman! CLEANING WOMAN!

“Yes, Officer, number three. Definitely number three.”

Made my annual visit to a local arts festival and stopped at a jewelry booth. When I saw the artist’s name and location, I realized it was freckafree (she had participated in a couple of Valentine exchanges). I was brave and introduced myself.

I have never met** Muffin** IRL, but we know many of the same people, and I am sure he has driven by my house enough times. We have probably crossed paths at some time or other.

Forgot one. There was a doper years ago who, it turned out, was related to me. Very distantly, but we were related. And for the life of me I can’t remember her name.

When I went to my first Dopefest I saw that Cowboy Greg and I were former coworkers.

It’s from the classic noir film, “Dead Men Don’t Wear Plaid.”

Real name or screen name?

Chippendales?

They were furniture makers?

Either! I’m a-gettin’ old…

Universal Studios. IIRC, Melin set it up.

Cool! Remember the old joke about “Rose”?

Ok, I just spent some time searching. I am, apparently, also related to Meatros. That’s not who I was thinking of when I posted it the first time, though. But, in any event, Howdy, Meatros! Looks like we might be cousins!

Extremely distant cousins, but cousins all the same.

Oh, wait. ‘Former coworker’. Chippendale’s. I’m slow today.
