Huh, turns out when Stafford isn’t awful I can win.
What’s weird is that I know I’m awful but if I had won those 2 games I had back to back that were like <2 point games I could somehow be 4-3 right now.
Also, RNATB drops to second place with a loss since Baltimore Weirdos crushes him in score tiebreaker.
Everyone on my team is available except for Jimmy Graham and Taiwon Jones. Looking only for keeper prospects. My team (despite being in the middle of the league in terms of points scored) has no shot at the playoffs, so I’m obviously willing to overpay a bit, but out of respect to the league and in memory of the NY Fanboys, I won’t do anything ridiculous like Drew Brees for a fringe keeper.
If we’re allowed to do players for future picks (which I don’t think has ever come up), I’ll listen.
Notable players available: Brees, Malcom Floyd, Michael Turner, Reggie Bush, Donald Brown. Will include #1 waiver priority to sweeten any deal (don’t have to get crazy with that, just tell me whenever you want me to put in a claim, will drop one of my shitty players and be fine dropping to 14th).

I know bitching about fantasy football is passe, but I just want it noted for the record that I’ve now lost both MJD, and Darren McFadden to injuries at the RB position. Luckily, I knew McFadden was an injury risk, so I’ve been holding onto his handcuff, Mike Goodson who … promptly got injured. Add in that the latest injuries happen to fall on the same week that 2 of my other running backs are on bye this week, and I get to start a waiver wire pickup. sigh
Since we’re now halfway through the season, I think it’s time for a mea culpa.
Okay, so I was wrong about RGIII. And Doug Martin. And I didn’t mention Decker at all in my review. I I thought this team would be mediocre, but… well, fuck.
Right now, Dave has the #3 QB (though he’s on a bye this week and will probably be #6 after it), the #1 and 2 RBs (and Martin would still be #10 even if you took away all his points from last week), the #7 and 17 WRs, and the #1 TE.
I have the #8 QB, #3 and 5 RBs, #6, 14 and 21 WRs, the #2 TE, #2 K, and #4 and 6 DEFs.
We’re both pretty much locks to make the playoffs at this point; we are both three games and 100+ points up over the 5th and 6th placed teams, and we each have a win over one of them.
I found an interesting tool called “draft day projections” I’d never noticed before, which predicts record based on the teams that were drafted. It has Dave’s team at 10-4 (interestingly, Jules would have gone 13-1), but it has mine at 4-10.
I don’t understand that at all; I drafted all but one of my starters (Owen Daniels).
I am in trouble. AP and Marshawn Lynch go on byes this week, and Andre Brown is also on his bye. So, I’m crossing my fingers and praying Mendenhall comes back this week, and I need to trade for another RB.
I’m sending out a few offers, but feel free to make me one. You can have Brown for anyone who reliably gets ten carries a game (looking at you, Saints RB owners) or Andre Johnson/Mike Williams for anyone a bit better. For someone good you can have Johnson/Williams and Brown, and for someone really good you can have all three. Philip Rivers is available, too.
Hey – I missed the draft, and my preranking took two kickers for me. After the league draft, I picked up Vick Ballard and dropped said kicker. I posted on the league board that I wanted to count Ballard my last-round pick, and nobody objected. Just want to double-check that that’s cool with everybody.
Interesting matchups this week: the two teams fighting for the last playoff spot (Omniscients and Off Constantly) have to play me and Dave. Then they have to play each other next week.
That means the next two teams, No Use for a Name and Hungry Hungry Haruspex, have a shot to turn the end of the playoff bracket upside down - and they’re playing each other this week.
Dave and I can clinch playoff spots if we win this week.
Ugh. I know I’m late (it’s mid first quarter), but any way I can ask for Mark Ingram to be put in for the deactivated Darren Sproles? If it’s too late, I understand.
